OK, so i have read through a lot of post and i have seen that it does work on vb 3.8 but can someone make a list of changes that need to be done to make it work. I am pretty sure i saw a couple of changes that need to be made

I've been playing around with this and one thing that the users don't like is the PM's. They reckon that they should possible come from a vBay user rather than addressed from themselves as it has caused some confusion. Anyone done this yet or know how I could do this?

works fine, just had it on both 3.8.0 and during upgrade to 3.8.1 stayed fine.

ill be updating this as i get the time.

How do you add your pay pal details please that is what my members are asking me they cant add there paypal detail and it only also alows them to sell one item when they may have 10 of the item

I did try emailing you but no joy; I think your mail box is full. I like the product concept very much because my criticism (one of them) of eBay is that items can not get discussed and therefore a lot of replicas / forgeries abound with impunity.

I would like to request the following mods either as a bespoke service (which I would pay for) or as a general release. My idea is to offer auctions with subsequent billing of commissions to sellers for their successful sales.

So I am looking for some form of automated billing by email system which would;
a) Look at the auctions for the previous specified period - I thought make the billing date the 10th and cover the previous month's auction ends so as to allow a 10 day time frame for sellers to declare a failed auction / non-payment by buyer.
b) With that the ability for sellers to mark any unpaid sales prior to the billing date so as to remove those items from the invoice list.
c) To get a list of unpaid items.
d) To offer a PayPal link for the invoice to be paid which then confirms / marks it as such on the system. Although I would like to allow payment by bank wire as well.
e) I would like to set up the billing to have an auction listing fee plus commission on the sale, so I would like to express the fee (and be able to change it) in Euros / Dollars and the commission as a %

just so you guys know, the update might require you to uninstall your previous version of vbay, which means you will lose all of your current auctions.

I don't mind uninstalling, I can just make a record of the previous auctions. We have raised thousands of dollars for charity using this thing, it's great.

i like it, is there anyway to work it so that there is an option in the admin CP for anyone wishing to use this, must pay a small fee, such as ebay. a Listing fee? I am really enticed by this.

It seems to be truncating the auction description if a quote mark (") is use in the description. The description ends right where the quote mark was. Any ideas for a fix?

yeah steve, i guess i thought i fixed this in the newest version.
its a simple fix, just add an addslashes to the wysiwyg variable before it gets entered into the db, and another stripslashes when its pulled out.

Wow! No idea how to do that, I just copy my auction and then re post it in the editor.

Works for me but the truncation does seem to drive people a little insane.

Is the wysiwyg variable in this template? vbay_new_auction2

I'm using this one a LOTRO kinship site so would like to change the currency to gold/silver.

1000 silver = 1 gold in the game so which phrases etc would I need to edit to make this show up properly? Also what do I need to edit to make a symbol of the gold coin appear instead of the British ? sign?

Is it possible to delete closed auctions? We have several test auctions that are closed and there doesn't appear to be a way to delete them.

when somebody bids the item , and the last person Buy It Now, that last person wins but with his early bidding price - not Buy It Now price. COuld you look on it ?

I am also wondering if there is a way to charge for listings, either with real money (Paypal) or via vbplaza?

first off I would like to thank you for this mod...

one thing that i have come across on my site is there is no way to have one auction for multiple items...

say I have 5 t-shirts that I want to sell for the same buy it now price...currently I would have to list 5 seperate auctions but it would be great to be able to list the item one time for all 5 t-shirts and users are able to purchase each one at the buy it now price...

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that you could use the built in paid subscriptions in vBulletin and then only give sellers access to people who subscribe.

This is awesome...

A couple things I would like to see:

Ability to end an auction
Ability to edit an auction
Option of cash or PP not just one or the other

also, where do I change the wording on the Welcome to VBay? I have tried to find it with know success. Also, how hard would it be to change any reference to VBay to another name?

I like this alot, but the seo is terrible on it. All the page titles are the same as my forum, as well as the meta description and keywords.

Ih anyone knows how to make the page titles unique for each ad (like the name of the ad) and change the meta stuff, that would be cool.

can this be used to "auction off downloads" IE say iv created a vb skin can i put it up for auction and then when the auction is done...the winner can download the file?

Blaine0002: This is true and the solution (besides paying out for VBSEO and then having yet more upgrade / cross hack headaches) is to migrate vbay onto VB4 when it comes out. Do you think you will be doing this? If you say "Yes / Probably", I will hold off until you do (or then declare you wont). If you say "No / Unlikely", I will go with the current VB and buy VBSEO (uugh).

Also, did I read you had an advanced (pay for) version of vbay?
