Hey there,

Are you accessing it from the same location of which you are logged in at on the forums? IE, if you are not using mod rewrite, are you logged in and accessing it from http://yoursite.com or either http://www.yoursite.com, and not accessing the install script from the url instance of which you are not logged in at?

Please open up a support ticket with us TRa5h and specify in the ticket that you would like Reid (me) to help you. I will need a temporary admin account with style permissions and I should be able to straighten that out for you in a jiffy.

Strike3ForumsMH 04-26-2008 04:09 PM

Hey TRa5H, I know you said to post here if I responded to your ticket. I responded last night, fixed one issue but I need you to give me a temporary FTP on that ticket so I can attempt to solve the second issue.

Hi Zoints folks.. How do you uninstall this? It's a fantastic MOD, but my users are a bit older and have had issues learning it...

Thanks
David

jmellors 04-27-2008 09:06 AM

I completely understand David, you have to find the right mix of additions for you site that fits what your users need (I can relate as a fellow forum owner.)

Uninstall the product from your vB Admin CP product manager and visit /z/install/manager.php to select the third option (I think it's third) to uninstall. Once it is removed from your vB and uninstalled from the database, you can remove the files.

Hi jmellors,

Danny responded to your problem when you posted it on Zoints.com and I have the same question as he does, what was the error that was presented to you? When we know that, we can help further.

Did you enable upload the .htaccess file with enabling mod rewrite?

danielc2384 05-01-2008 05:44 AM

I just uploaded the .htaccess to the z folder but it still isnt working.

How do you enable mod rewrite? I'm guessing thats my problem.

Zoints 05-01-2008 05:58 AM

Go into /z/zadmin.php -> Click Installation Settings -> Check the Enable mod_rewrite URLs

I can't even seem to get to that directory:

http://www.dollhousetvforum.com/z/zadmin.php

I get the same error message. I chmod the z folder to 777 too.

Zoints 05-01-2008 06:36 AM

Remove the .htaccess file from your server.

danielc2384 05-01-2008 07:00 AM

I seemed to fix the problem. When I cmodded the z folder to 777 it would not grantr me acces. When changing it to 755 it works fine. Slight template problem though.

Any ideas on high I can fix this?

Strike3ForumsMH 05-01-2008 02:11 PM

Hey Daniel,

Zoints is looking for absolute URLs (ie the whole path url http://yourforum.com/....) You can correct this by editing your style, or if you would be more comfortable with me doing it, you can open up a ticket with us and give me a temporary admin account with style permissions so I can resolve it for you.

Hey man, does this work with vBulletin 3.7.x series? I want to know before upgrading.

Yes, ZL works with 3.7x from all that we have heard/seen. If you discover that anything doesn't work, please let me know and I'll alert the engineers to what should hopefully be a prompt fix.

hilaryl 05-06-2008 05:10 AM

Since we've upgraded, some of our viewers are getting the following error message when they try to view profiles:

Quote:

Your submission could not be processed
because a security token was missing or mismatched.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error"
Any ideas what that could be and how we fix it?

Hmm, could you please open up a support ticket with us hilaryl?

http://zoints.com/support.z

I have an idea of what it might be, but it would be best to just expedite the process and let the engineers look as they would know the solution and not just the problem (unlike myself.)

Yes, we have seen some issues with the 3.6.10 RC from vB, as they've implemented new security protocols that need to be accomodated.

I know that the problems have been worked out in the 2.0 beta; I'll check with the engineers to see if they have a hotfix for 1.0.4. If you could, please submit a support ticket with your site info (you can do so by logging into your Zoints account and clicking the Help button).

Thanks!

Edit: Whoops! I see Reid beat me to the punch :D

hilaryl 05-06-2008 11:53 PM

Have submitted a support ticket. I've got an unfound table zp_userdata coming up in error messages, but it seems to be looking at the wrong database in the mySql error so that could be contributing to the problem. Have asked for support in changing the database that the system looks for - as the zp_userdata table is present in the correct database.

Hopefully that is the problem (which would mean that it's not really related to the upgrade at all!)

Hi! I think you posted this question on our forums as well. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Can you please clarify your question?

I have a question on zoints.... specifically:

http://zoints.com/tour/blocks-and-pages/6/

if the user can drag stuff around on their home page when why do they need to define which column a module appears in? - this seems contradictory.

can they only drag within a column?

I am looking for real drag and drop like I have on my google personal home page.

thanks in advance.

That screenshot in the link you provided is within the Zadmin, the Admin Panel. You in essence set a default layout for your users, but then they can change it around or add other blocks that are enabled to use but not on the default layout.

It is a real drag and drop. Your users can drag blocks up and down a column or over to other columns. They can have just one column of blocks or they can have three columns, it's all left up to how they drag and drop 'em.

If you are curious to see how it works from a user perspective, I suggest you join Zoints and play around; you'll find ZL quite similar.

Not that we're not looking into this, but have you also talked to the support staff at vBSEO and asked if they have any ideas as to the cause of the issue?

just one more question then - if a user does not want a particular block (or blocks) to display can they suppress the display of that block?

thanks again.

indie2industry 05-17-2008 01:23 PM

How do you uninstall zoints?

3.7 profiles are easier to customize. Can edit the software coding(too complex)

*edit*

nevermind..

Absolutely. A user could add all the blocks that are available for selection or as few as they like, it's up to them and very customizable in how it all appears (the name of the block, the style, etc.)

When I run the install I get: "You must be an administrator in order to access this page."

I am already in admin panel and then paste /z/install/index.php in the end of url. So I dont se why the install cant identify me as admin?

EDIT:
I followed these instructions:
Quote:

Quote:
There are a few things to try, in this order:

A. Obviously make sure you're logged in with an admin account.

B. Cookie domain

1. Go to your vBulletin admincp

2. Process to vBulletin options > Cookies and HTTP Header Options

3. Under "Cookie Domain" > Suggested Settings - select .yourdomain.com

Save and see if that helps.

C. Execute this query:

Code:
UPDATE zp_user SET usergroup = usergroup | 8 WHERE userid = xWhere x is your numerical userid.

D. Create another temp admin account and login with that to do the install.
Now I cannot log in the admin panel ?????????

It says welcome username and then go back to admin login page without logging in..

Hey orkyn,

I haven't fully tested it (I am on 3.68 for my local forum), but Zoints LOCAL by all accounts does work with 3.7x just fine. The worst thing I could think of that might not work would be some of the automatic template edits, which of course could be done manually if that was the case.

For the next update there will be a version designed for 3.7x.
