Any explanation?

if the image won't appear, there may be two reasons:
1. you disable anymedia
2. the user has no permission to use the bbcode

Dude, this is one of the best and most updated hacks on vb.org. Chill out and relax, Crist does this for free and he does a great job at it. Rest assured he'll deliver an update when he gets a chance.

I guess thats a matter of personal opion.. I know he does it for free do you think i just started coming to this site or something? I just figured since half of the things dont work he would update it but I guess its one of the best when things dont work huh?

efil 07-31-2006 03:06 AM

Hi,
is there a way to use the https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2006/07/5.gif with parameters?
and not just - [MEDIA][/MEDIA]

i like to get those parameters [media="290,290,no,1"][/media],when i push the button.

Thank you,
Efil.

You could probably edit the XML file and replace video.google.com with video.google.it and then overwrite it in the package manager if you already have it installed...

rinkrat 08-01-2006 12:29 AM

Crist, we are all waiting patiently for you to "resurrect" this so to speak! I've always been a believer and I'm confident you wil return and bless us with the power of streaming video.

Amen

phkk 08-01-2006 01:19 AM

Why do files only play for about 10 seconds then quit in Internet Explorer.

And with all video files all I get is a blank white screen, sometime I get a black screen with play now, but now of the time its just a blank white screen.. Does anyone know what the heck is going on with this thing?

joshskeety 08-01-2006 07:14 PM

Ah.. n/m I see it doesnt work in 3.6..

I||usi0nz 08-01-2006 07:20 PM

nice anymedia bbcode :)

Nxs 08-01-2006 10:00 PM

Installed - but not really working

Google video's - unsupported media type
YouTube "Failed .." under IE

eagerly awaiting the next version :)

hotwheels 08-02-2006 12:25 AM

Nxs, see what happens if you change this to no :
Quote:

Play Google Videos via proxy
Some IPs may be banned by Google for certain reasons, so if you get a 'unsupported' error while playing google videos, you need to set it to 'Yes'.

I've could of missed it already but did you try and tell it to use googles and youtube player instead of the anymedia player?

Oddjob 08-02-2006 05:33 PM

Any general idea when this will work with 3.6?

Nxs 08-02-2006 06:13 PM

edit: opps found the option - testing now

Google video - "Error: unsupported media type" trying google/proxy option and option for internel/external player
YouTube - works with internal player in firefox only (IE fails) : use external player and both fail with a message saying embedded not allowed

:) think ill just uninstall and wait for a later version.

when you do youtube your just using the link like this right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xlFTbvVh9E

You don't need to embed.

Same with google.

DementedMindz 08-03-2006 01:32 AM

youtube does fail on IE but only if you use his player... if you use there player it works fine on IE and FireFox..

DementedMindz 08-03-2006 02:41 AM

Crist I have a good question why when you rebuild post cache do you have to go to each video and edit the post then go in advanced mode and then save before it shows up again?

Yup, but also some youtube videos have been configured not to allow embedding so when you try to play them you a message about "unable to play embedded due to request of video owner" - his player gets around this :) but only works in FF

Works both is IE6 and FF for me also. But with just the link to the page. I think people are using the wrong links. I don't see whats broke with this. Works great here.

nah I dont get that at all... all it would show is a white screen where the video should of been.. I just have it now where it shows googles player and youtubes player and works fine.. But it sucks that could be done with bbcode by itself with out this mod... Hopefully some day we will get a update :surprised: ..

unitedpunjab 08-05-2006 03:45 PM

Its not parsing the Code,All i see is [media]www.whatever.com[/media]

nix 08-05-2006 05:02 PM

Um, yes it does. I'm using it right now. Did you redo the template edits? And youtube works with IE.

Depends which youtube video you play - those who have had their "Embedding" disabled play fine in FF but do not play at all in IE using the provided flash player

Template edits are only needed if you want the buttons on your editor

nix 08-05-2006 06:08 PM

Just have it use youtube player. I prefer it over the default one anyway.
