It has no extra effect on load, it's just serving up pages the same as any other connection. In fact it probably uses less resources as the pages mostly have less interaction with mysql.

Excellent. That's what I thought, but I had a bit of an "event" not long after I put a member into the miserable group. I suspected that it was not related to this hack and you've confirmed that. Thanks. (Now, I'm off to fight with my host's support group... :) )

Hi Paul, we have version 2.01. To update to the current 2.05 what would we have to do?
|
Download the zip, extract the xml file [to your pc] and then import it into vbulletin as a product (with overwrite set to yes).
|
OK thanks Paul! :)

Thank you Sata.....errr Paul for this hack.
I've been runnig vBulletin for the past 5 months and recently found out we have a member stalking another one. I didnt want to outright ban the person since that sometimes creates more problems than solving them. This is a great solution to annoy them to the point that they just leave. It was so simple to install I think my pet canary could install it. Thank you for this Hack!!! I'll report back and let you know what happens with the offending member. |
I just wanted to verify-
Under the IP addresses you want to use for miserable IP addresses, if you enter: 123.234.23 Does that mean it'll affect the range of 123.234.23.1 - 123.234.23.255? Just want to clarify.. thanks!! |
I know that's how the vBulletin IP banning works, so if Miserable Users accepts the shorter IP, then I would imagine that the range you wrote is correct.
|
Yes, as I recall, that should work.
|
hahahah this is funny but great :D
