You're welcome ...

Quick question ....

I notice that there's no way for someone to right click to cut-n-paste the code that appears in the Link our site Sourcecode to include in your page to link our site box area.

It doesn't seem to be recognized by the mouse, which means if someone actually wanted to use the code, they'd have to write it down, then type it manually into their web site?

Can this be made to be able to be cut-n-pasted?

Thanks .. :)

Regards,
Doug

Yes, it can. Open the template "vblinklist_home" and search for
PHP Code:

<textarea name="linktous" id="linktous" rows="5" tabindex="1" cols="80" dir="{vb:stylevar textdirection}" class="{vb:raw content}" disabled="disabled">{vb:raw link_to_us_text}</textarea

In that line you simply delete
PHP Code:

disabled="disabled"

and everything should be fine then. This bug is fixed in the next version also.

"Well, it depends on the server function aswell on the availability of the linked site and it it allows to fetch the informations. This function is a thing to play with but has no important binding."

Thanks Vossi, once again sorry to sound so dumb but do I just ignore the red cross when typing in the URL or am I doing something wrong when trying to list a link??

Vossi,

I have heard more then once that google does not like link exchanges...maybe in the past it was ok
for people to provide a legit link to a website, but we know today that 99% of those that even
think about using link directories are spammers. LE's are spam magnets to drawing the wrong
type of crowd to your website, so it doesnt really matter what I think, but what does google
really think? all you need to do is search for link exchange stuff, and it will not be long before
you run across someone that thinks they know what they are talking about...so goes google
really think bad about sites that use link exchanges? I guess if anyone knows, then it will be
those that really use this, and the coder that codes a script/mod, why would anyone use
a mod if google was against it, and why would a coder code a mod if it was going to be useless with google.

If somebody has a problem with the link exchange, he can turn it off. Easy like that...

thats not what I asked.

If you were hungry, would you just ignore that, and just not eat?

pretty much what you did with my question, just ignored it, maybe
you know it, maybe you dont, or just pass it off as merely if you do
not like it or have problems, then just turn it off...

If we have to turn it off, then why would ANYONE want to use it?

and it is "easy as that...."

Vossi 03-09-2011 03:58 AM

Actually I dont see your problem. If there's something you dont like about the mod, then ignore it. Also the point between link exchange and google aint cleared yet, using link directories is not a problem unless you make it to your own personal problem now.
