you'd think the amount of shown videos in a category would be 'query independant'? For example: when I set the amount of videos to be shown in the vbadvance video directory module from 3 to (for example) 6 videos, it has no influence on the amount of queries for that page. Shouldn't it be cached or something?

When many people browse through the video directory at a particular moment, it really stresses the server.
1.2.2 really kicks ass! Fantastic job on the caching part. With 1.2.1 showing a category with 17 videos costs 25 queries, but with 1.2.2 only 9 queries.

This has been since nearly the beginning. Jaxel has been gracious enough to take LOTS of requests on features and enhancements (as well as coming up with his own additions) which has been what we've mainly been doing since the beginning.

Just to be sure : which hosters are you talking about, the old ones (before upgrade) that I imported with the 1.2.1, or the new hosters included in the 1.2.2 release ?

Aside from uploading the hosters into your directories, you also have to go into your admincp > videos > manage hoster > then, click on import video-hoster and find the 'new' hosters.

Hi,

Is there a way to have the "Add Video" Button show on the video landing page, rather than from within categories? Its confusing to have to go to categories before users could add videos.

Can someone tell me how to get the categories right? If I have for example a main category 'music', than subcategories would be 'rock', 'live', 'rap', etc. What do I have to fill in, in order to have it actually look like main and sub categories in the categorieslist?

And is it possible to remove the big 'views' box in the videolisting in a category?
