im sorry, but how much is the branding free version? you should post that, as it's a pain to sign up for yet another forum, and it's not posted anywhere until you click buy now...

And they don't have the active support like MGC does. Tell me, when's the last time you know of that that someone spent 40 hours during a weekend helping all the people installing the chat and made $0 and has no affiliation with the chatbox itself? WEll, it was me. And we have others here that do that as well.. So you see a 1 line advertisement, it's not like googleads are being displayed. Take some vicodin and a beer and smile.

I'm missing these as well, I'm using version 3.7.4. :(

*EDIT* I found the culprit! In usergroup manager the smilies and bbcode selections were defaulted to "no".

I agree. People sure like to whine about something they get free - probably be a different story if he was the one that spent days coding it....

OK I enabled that and now it's working perfect. I also figured out that since I had edited the archives template in the old version that when I upgraded it did not overwrite the new template. I reverted the template and now I see the drop down box that you were talking about. Thanks!

They are still there but you have to ENABLE the options for each usergroup. Goto "UserGroup Manager > Registered Users > MGC Chatbox Evo : Custom permissions > and then you will see the two options that say...
Can use the BBCODE (if active)
Can use the smileys (if active)

I must admit that MGC is a hard worker and does stand by his mod! Guy is a hell of a person to deal with all the hassle. But on the flip side I have noticed more donations for this mod than damn near any other mod that I have seen. Personally I am a little disappointed in the new branding that is below the chatbox. I have had quite a few offers from local motorsports shops that want to advertise for cash but I won't do it because I just don't like looking at all that garbage, I don't think anyone else does either . Especially people that get on the forum on a daily basis, it just becomes a nuisance to look at. The branding in the ARCHIVES is fine with me but the one under the chatbox looks just a little tacky IMO. Honestly I think the one under the chatbox should have been used for some kinda announcement feature or something :D

Using 3.6.8, installed as described but no go for me.

Looks like Javascript is not working or Ajax, I'm not sure because I know nothing about coding.

I have set up all the options, redid my usergourps, etc and also cleared my cache.

1 - Looks like the cookies are not working to get rid of the bbcodes or smilies

2- Can type a message but as soon as I press Enter or click Go, the entire page reloads and my forumhome page disappears completely leaving me with a Empty chatbox (without even having the message I just typed).

3- Get a database error when clicking on my portal page (vbAdvanced CMPS)

It's because now archives are limited by date (showing 1 day archives by default) but then you have a dropdown to select to see more.

If you don't see that dropdown it's because you haven't reverted all your chatboxes templates.

vBulletin has a copyright at the bottom, do you remove it ? I don't think so...

Sorry should put it here in the first thread the BF is 20$ but will not be just a BF version as I said.
It will be updated regularly with small plugins (like other notifications for blog, and so on).
