Do you get a message on there.

There used to be a too strick error checking in the vbgooglemapme.php but that has been gone for a while.

Are you sure you are running the latest version?

You can use the functions in Languages & Phrases to do just that.

Upload the phrase file

Hope this helps

Ogden,

If you are running specific styles you need to upload the images to that directory too.

Als don't forget to set all the usergroup markers in the admincp before launching it.

You can select a usergroup marker and set the usergroup to show or not show in the legend

that should fix your issue.

For some reason, some moderators appear the correct colour, some appear light blue. They all have either forum or global moderator as their primary usergroup.

Any guesses?

Hello Mini2,

Normally it should show the primary.

Make sure you force a recreate of the XML by

running the scheduled task or click your entry and the update button.

You may want to give the suggestion from DRN a try. But I'll check.

I have been trying to solve the issue of using a user's Display Group ID rather than their Primary User Group ID - and made the following change of line 71 of the vbgooglemapme.php code from:

PHP Code:

$usergroupid $vbulletin->userinfo['usergroupid'];

to:

PHP Code:

$usergroupid $vbulletin->userinfo['displaygroupid'];

Can you please check what usergroupid is in the googlemapme table in the database.

I think that that isn't the correct ID.

I'll put the whole usergroupid architecture on the revision list for 2.5.2.

It will be fixed, thanks for your patience.

stonyarc,

are you aware that "Find me!" addon dramaticaly increase number of queries (double!) for showthread.php and average server Load?

Just wanna let you know. I've disabled that hook for now.

stonyarc 05-24-2006 05:51 AM

I'm aware of that as the plugin retrieves the info and builds the locator string "on the fly".

There are some things I still want to change and this is one of them.

as said before a work in progress, but the application has come a long way since the first release.

Yes, I know, and we all greatly appreciate your work. Thank you much.
Application is great in general. The only one problem is "find me" hook in the postbit, which are causing double number of queries in the showthread. Nice thing to know, that you are working on this issue, thanks!

BTW, most people, i believe, don't even use "find me", so it is very good idea to disable that hook by default.

I installed the latest version but when I go to edit the usergroups, there's no section relating to the Google Map settings. Yes, I refreshed the admincp before looking. :p Any ideas? I've had a few drinks so I can't promise that I'm not just being a dumbass. :o

moorediddy 05-27-2006 02:24 AM

Does anyone know how to edit the text that is called by $post[findme]?

I'd like to modify it, for some reason I'm perturbed by the lower-case "location."

Annapurna 05-27-2006 06:35 AM

I installed ME yesterday evening! Perfect hack!

Question: Is there a way to sort the usergroup legend?

Hey Andreas,

You can add an 'order by' to the query

If you open the vbgooglemapme.php on line 163 (or about there depending on your editor)

look for
PHP Code:

$gettypes$db->query("SELECT title,googlemapmetype FROM " TABLE_PREFIX "usergroup where showonvbgme = '1'");

and replace by

PHP Code:

$gettypes$db->query("SELECT title,googlemapmetype FROM " TABLE_PREFIX "usergroup where showonvbgme = '1' ORDER BY title DESC");

if you add usergroupid after select you can also order on that or any other field in that query for that matter.

Hello,

the phrase is called vbgooglemapme_findme. You can edit it in the product file and reupload it with overwrite to yes or use the phrasemanager to edit it.

Hope you find it.

Annapurna 05-27-2006 07:45 AM

Hi stonyarc,

@ sorting: It works, but as my userids have changed a couple of times it doesn't give me control over a real sort in the ACP. But that's a minor issue and could be anything for a future release.

There's one more thing I'd like to asked:

I've changed in the templates vbgooglemapme_set_yourlocation and vbgooglemapme_display_yourlocation the following code from:
Code:

<td class="alt1" align="left"><input name="text_map" size="20" value="$text_map" style="padding-left:5px; font-weight:normal; width:200px;"></td>
to
Code:

<td class="alt1" align="left"><textarea name="text_map" value="$text_map" style="padding-left:5px; font-weight:normal; width: 400px; height: 80px;"></textarea></td>
</tr>

to gain more space for writing the text.

While setting a new location works fine by editing (display) it, the $text_map value isn't shown any more and I have to fill it again. But if I only want to edit the markers location it's annoying when I have to fill in this text again especially because I didn't expect it and forgot to copy for paste.

Any workaround?

Andreas

If you enter the same textarea in the vbgooglemapme_display_yourlocation and vbgooglemapme_set_yourlocation it should work.

On edit the value of the $text_map should be shown and on set and update. You shouldn't have to copy it. It's retrieved from the database.

That's what I've done. Changed it in vbgooglemapme_set_yourlocation and copy&pasted into vbgooglemapme_display_yourlocation. So there's exactly the same textarea-code. But when editing it's empty. I've tried leaving it empty thinking it would be retrieved anyway, but an error message has been displayed...

Andreas

stonyarc 05-27-2006 08:36 AM

Your textarea code is wrong

Code:

<td class="alt1" align="left"><textarea name="text_map" value="$text_map" style="padding-left:5px; font-weight:normal; width: 400px; height: 80px;"></textarea></td>
</tr>

Code:

<td class="alt1" align="left"><textarea name="text_map"  style="padding-left:5px; font-weight:normal; width: 400px; height: 80px;">$text_map</textarea></td>
</tr>

Textarea doesn't have a attribute value. The value is inserted between the tags themselves.

That should fix it all

stonyarc 05-27-2006 08:51 AM

Does that do the trick???

Annapurna 05-27-2006 09:11 AM

What a stupid mistake :knockedout: !
Works perfectly now!

Just a question to the attached picture. I've seen it's automatically resized. 1) Is there a possibility to specify the width and height
2) An upload possibilty would be great and a tickbox to alternatively add the choosen avatar.

One more: where can I change the settings for the ballon (width, height, general size)?

That should be done on the settings page where you entered the key. There are a lot of options on there.

Annapurna 05-27-2006 11:26 AM

I didn't mean the size of the mapimage but the size of the userpicture in the ballon.

Sorry for being not specific enough...

Andreas

I did remove the old version via the adminCP, and I followed the instructions to the letter. Maybe I'll uninstall and make sure I clean up every reference to GoogleMap out of the database then try again. :cross-eyed:

curriertech 05-27-2006 11:54 AM

Awesome, I can't even get into my forum now. :( I knew I shouldn't have bothered.

Za4a Tuner 05-29-2006 06:17 AM

Hy stonyarc,
what's about the prob with the avatars (small size)?
is there a way to deny ava's @ all?
a setting in the admincp to deaktivate the pictures on the ballon will be very nice!!!

users can "link" to any pics at the www ->
so there can be traffic for foreign webmasters cause of the linking @ my board!

so it would be nice, to deaktivate the second tab with the picture (including the uploadfield)

I did a search and couldn't find any reference to this problem. I just upgraded to the new version and everything seems fine, except the pins don't show up. The users are still there and the pin SHADOWS show up - just not the pins themselves.

Markers.xml is set to 777. What am I doing wrong?

your markers show up for me. no problem !

just the pictures for unregistered and moderators in the legend do not show...

The only error I see is that you haven't assigned all usergroups or have hidden them from the legend.

The markers on the map are shown

marker images should be included in the correct style. I might have been that.

Annapurna 06-01-2006 06:19 AM

Hi stonyarc,

I've no idea why, but since yesterday evening the markers don't show up any more. I haven't changed anything.

There is an error message: 'documentElement' is 0 or no object
must be somewhere around this section of the code:
Code:

                var request = GXmlHttp.create();
                request.open("GET", "markers.xml?r=14505", true);
                request.onreadystatechange = function() {
                  if (request.readyState == 4) {
                        var xmlDoc = request.responseXML;
                        markers = xmlDoc.documentElement.getElementsByTagName("marker");
                        window.setTimeout(mapOne,timeOut);
//                        document.getElementById('nb').value=markers.length;
            id4 = document.getElementById('nb');
            id4.innerHTML = markers.length;

Do you have an idea?

I think that a data error is causing this. Maybe somebody entered a strange char like & in his text. Can you check in the DB?

http://www.trekkingforum.com/forum/markers.xml

If you load that you'll see that it hangs on id 9

steven s 06-02-2006 10:03 AM

Upgraded with zero problems. This is great. :banana:
I might suggest in the upgrade instructions to record the goggle mapkey since it's will be overwritten.

Yes! That has been the problem!
The strange char has been a <
It occurred because in the Map-text they hit return to begin a new line, which has been set as a <br \> by the system, which consequentely caused that error.

I'm sure, it will happen again. Because it's a normal behaviour pressing return when writing a text. Is there an easy work-around?
