I think there may be an issue with this with 3.8.5. I've had 3 bugs reported since updating to 3.8.5 two are regarding logging in (for regular members) and the other was a strange occurence in a mobile browser (an extra blank section below the end of the home page that said 'client script'), since I've removed the hack (which includes a client script file) the last one has been addressed and is now ok, the other two I'll get back to you on... its interesting to see that the developer hasn't been on for a while...

I love this plugin and it works great on several sites I manage, but I just launched a 4.0 site yesterday and I am really hoping that there will be a release for that soon, or if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

The popup box that ask's me if I want to post to my wall no longer works? (vb3.8.5)
I appears for a millisecond and just dissappears, and it seems like nothing is posted to my wall? HELP!!! :D |

I cant believe the mods on this board allow this horrible add on to stay here. its not supported, rarely works, most errors take down your board, not easy to remove, and the dev will only respond when he's paid. (sometimes).
do yourself a favor. do NOT install this mod. |

Can anyone tell me....
If I decided to remove this HACK from my site what the steps are? Am I going to have to reverse engineer all the steps that I did to make it or is it possible to just deactivate it and then install something else like YAFB Ya Another FB Bridge! It is unfortunate that I am even asking to do this as I guess I am now going to loose all the members I already had that were associated with FB Connect! The primary reason I am changing is the simple fact that when you make a post the FB Connect box only appears for a second and does not let you actually type anything in or send anything to your FB wall! This sucks that I have to make a change but it is apparent that we are not getting any responses here and there is no other option to go.... UNLESS someone has another solution I am all ears!!! Please I have a major release I was suppose to be launching over the last few days and now I am being held captive by this... I do not want ot bring on any more members with this solution not working right! AND I have to have the ability to be able to get notifications of activity like a post being responded to or PM being left... Thank you for anything you can help me out here with!!! J |

Because of the no response I jumped ship and tried Yah! Another Facebook Bridge and wow am I so glad I did... They even have an import feature for accounts that were created in FB Connect to get them "ported" to YAFB! So easy to use and so so so much more reliable! Yes the coder still answers posts and yes there is a version for 4.x out there already! Just thought you guys would like to know my findings! In case you are in a similar situation! Have a great day, Sorry to have to post this as FB Connect when working is awesome! Just not working and we are not getting any feedback! |

Uninstalled. After installation people complained about the quick reply not working. Others including myself had to clear cookies several times to get the site to load due this addon (and yes over 15 users on the forums and 23 from facebook pmed me about this to confirm it)

installed but now the link in facebook button having # mark after my domain so by clicking on Connect with facebook button it doesn't go anywhere!!!!
any tips?? |

I have a pretty bad problem. There is a slight bug with facebook connect that sometimes logs new users who register via facebook into the wrong account, and I'm not sure why that is. (For instance 10 facebook connect users will ALL keep getting logged in to the same account, I ended up deleting the account because I didn't know what to do) There is an update for the current plugin (I have 2.05), could that possibly fix the issue? I'm hesitant to do the upgrade myself because I worry that something could break. Is the update simple or is there a chance that something could go terribly wrong? Thanks |

It worked for us on 3.8.4, but we noticed that when FB was real busy, the call using the API really slowed down our site. Or, even threw an error when FB was really busy. Pageload time were waaaaay up. Nearly 5.94 sec on avg. When I disabled just to check...pageload times back down to .28-.38 sec on avg. So, we currently have the mod disabled.
DOn't get me wrong...excellent mod. And it doesn't add much 'load' on my server, but for us, it's not worth the waiting times to pull from FB. |
I see there is another facebook mod "YAFB - Yay! Another Facebook Bridge", what is the difference and which one is better?
