Yes, it seems I forgot that validation doesn't have it's own column in the definitions listing. Either blank it out, or disable extraction. However, disabling extraction will prevent you from pulling video titles.

Remember that this will not have any effect on old posts. They would have to be resaved.

I previously announced that since HD/HQ definitions are impossible to make work without conflicting with YouTube URLs that have extra code strings at the end, and since it seems kind of redundant to do all that work when there's a button to switch the embed to HD right from the video player, and since it's contrary to web building standards to force the heavy loading video, the one that could stick, on users who can't handle large video loads first, rather than vice versa, then I wouldn't be offering support for HD or HQ videos anymore. Some sites it's pretty easy to do so, but YouTube has made it almost impossible.

Have tried re saving a couple of post and also made some new test posts and they never work.

Have finally got them to work, I had to turn off "Extract destination data" globally from in settings.
Turning this off just for youtube alone would not work for me. :confused:

i'm not getting any youtube videos to work. I just went onto youtube and starting picking random videos just to test it and none work for me. I just updated the definitions but that didnt work.

If you turn off 'Extract' globally, what problems do you run into? Do you just lose the ability to pull the titles to the videos? Or, are there other issues aside from that?

Definition importing doesn't work

I installed the latest version of AME and downloaded the Delta XML file

The list of definitions appears, I select the ones I want, click Import, it says "imported like a charm" and then takes me to the Display page where nothing happened, the definition wasn't imported.

A few definitions actually do import but most don't

I don't think I ever tracked down why this was happening on your board. Did we check to see if we had a modification conflict, like something that affects URL posts?


Aren't loading or aren't embedding? If they aren't loading, then it's likely on YouTube's end. As always, send me the links that your having trouble with.


Try disabling your Hide Link modification to see if that's causing a conflict.

And clearing the Validation RegEx hasn't helped at all?


There are three EA Sports definitions. Which one(s) are not working for you? I will need to see the links that aren't working.


For some definitions, that's all you'll lose. There are a number of definitions, however, that rely on the Extraction RegEx for relevant information, like video ID numbers and such. In those cases, the definition will stop working. Amazon, for example, relies on the extraction to get the image ID number for that particular product's thumbnail image.


The latest version of AME is AME 3 for vB4. Are you on AME 3 or 2.5, because AME 3 won't support these definitions?

They aren't embedding anymore.

It's only happening to gametrailers. Everything else works flawlessly. I even deleted all the definitions... and i get the same problem. I don't have any other mod related to gametrailers, so i don't undestand why is this problem still there. Maybe because of the "old" and "new" way of dealing with gametrailers embedding it's trying to add it twice or something like that ?

youtube works for me now. I deleted all defs, downloaded the XML file again and reimported them. It works like a charm.

Maybe an easier description of my problem is that any definition below ImageShack (Slideshows) does not import

I'm using AME 2.5.6 & latest XML (April 10th) in vBulletin 3.8.4 PL2 and YouTube embedding is not working.

The advice above worked for me. I just deleted all of my definitions, and re-downloaded, re-imported the master list here. "Worked like a charm."

Does anyone know why this happened, and why re-importing the same data worked? Did the master definitions list change at all? I haven't received any email updates that the mod changed, so I'm not sure what's going on.
