Well
I've upgraded to PHP5 a few hiccups & tons of lost work-hours, but I'm back on the track :(
altough I'm not fan of upgrading, is a necessary step on the near future

p.s. I'm re-paying for upgrade of 2 scripts

TTG 12-31-2007 02:21 AM

I've just installed and don't really want to read 89 pages on how to get youtube working. When I add a youtube link and select "Use goldbrick media options", all it does is wrap [url] links around it !?

DDIG 01-01-2008 05:44 PM

It does *nothing*. Installed it, uploaded goldbrick, includes and players to my forum directory, imported the product, set forum and user permissions properly, and.... nothing.

Each link is just shown as a link. No player, no playing, just a link, nothing else happens.

PHP5, MySQL5, vBulletin 3.6.8PL2

Installation instruction are:
1. Upload the contents of the "upload" folder
2. Import the product_goldbrick.xml file
3. Set up Usergroup Permissions
4. Set up Forum Permissions
5. Set up Goldbrick Options

1. Done that (uploaded to "forum" dir)
2. Done that.
3. Done that.
4. Done that.
5. Done that. It should play the media file automatically.

Tried it with an MP3, and with an swf file.

The swf file plays nicely when I put the URL directly in my browser URL box.

nix 01-01-2008 05:46 PM

do you have vbseo installed?

DDIG 01-01-2008 05:52 PM

Yes, I have. Not the full prod., just the sitemap generator

DDIG 01-01-2008 06:05 PM

When uninstalling the product, it displays this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in ...forums\admincp\plugin.php(1497) : eval()'d code on line 1

Do you have any mod that changes the urls? If not, just post a link like this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMH0bHeiRNg

no tags or anything.

If you want to pm me the url to your forum I'll take a look at it.

That is fixed in the next version.

JohnBee 01-03-2008 03:37 PM

Sometimes it works... Sometimes it don't
This MOD is a bit perplexing. Sometimes it works without a hitch, other times, threads will not display thumbnails or... handle content properly. The latter occurs even if I edit and resave content.

Along the same note, why is it that whenever we edit a thread or post, the Goldbrick option is never available?

nix 01-03-2008 05:21 PM

Cause its in Beta and I'm adding features as I go. If you find problems PM me a link so I can look at it. It's hard to find bugs on my test site when it usually works as advertised. But I like to see it on live boards for finding the hidden bugs.

Alright thanks for the response.
I'll set something up(repeat) and send you a link via PM.

They don't need to be uploaded separately. It just depends on your ftp program. The product is in the main folder.

nix 01-05-2008 06:26 PM

Goldbrick Version 1.2:
- Added Videos for Profiles for vbulletin 3.7
- Added Classic Skin
- Added Vblog Support
- Added Vbadvanced Support
- Fixed Attachments
- Rewrote some of the code

I'll post some Screen shots later. I have to run so if there are any problems I'll look at them later tonight.

I dont have a main folder, so im assuming you talking about the upload folder? and then mine is called product-goldbrick.xml not product-goldbrick-7.xml and its not importing it even though its there in my goldbrick folder on my server?

thanks

WORKS great in my 3.6.8 now. Only question is that there's a option in the gold brick options for usergroups and it's blank.

Thanks killer hack!

Yes the uploads folder. You don't upload the upload folder but the contents inside of it. But if you did them one at a time thats okay also. As long as they get uploaded in the right spot.

Download Goldbrick. Not anymedia. But if your post was a quick reply refresh the page. If it wasn't you need js enabled.

Hey Nix. First off I would just like to say that I love this mod. Great job :)

I don't mean to be a pest but, the new upgrade to goldbrick has had a strange affect on the fonts in my reply templates.

It didn't affect the new thread templates. You can see the difference here:

http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/5...allfontee8.jpg
http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/8621/bigfontnz9.jpg

I would like them to return to normal and looking like the first image. Any idea why this might have happened?

I realize you probably have many more important issues to address but I would appreciate it if you took a look.

What link are you using? I don't have IE so I can't test it. You have javascript enabled. Or you wouldn't see that pop up.

You don't do it like that. If you do it that way you would have to change the default name. Just hit the select box and choose the file.
