I'm getting this error:

This is by far one of the best mods, it just needs some more work to put it totally over the top.
one sugestion -Fix the bid increments to accept less than 1.00 ...some peole only want to bump an item up by 25 cents or 50 cents at a time.

I really hope blaine get some free time to update the great MOD

fengwu 01-04-2009 04:25 AM

Good Mod

Are you sure all your files completely uploaded, or are in the proper directory?

ScienceOfMuscle 01-04-2009 03:27 PM

Blaine,
I seen this is for 3.6, but still supported... will you be updated this to 3.8 by chance? This looks to be just what I need.

decipher442 01-04-2009 10:55 PM

Has anyone added this to vbulletin 3.7.4? if so... is it working well?

I'm pretty sure it did... I can double check it and re do it. Will report back for those who are wondering if it works on 3.7.4

stalkertj 01-05-2009 07:47 PM

Thanks for the response Digital Jedi, I missed one file.

Everyone, it appears to be working fine on 3.7.4 PL1 !

Enjoy!

according to blaine, there will be an update, i will definitely give him a nice donation for this.

KrU$ty 01-06-2009 10:23 AM

im looking for the ability to use vbcredits for the auction house. Is this possible?

IcheeWaWa 01-07-2009 04:16 PM

I installed this on 3.7.4PL1 and it appears to work fine. The only problem I've found is the link to Categories, items, etc is not pointing to vbay.php

http://www.YOURFORUM.com/forum/?do=cat&showcat=1

If I put http://www.YOURFORUM.com/forum/vbay....=cat&showcat=1 it works fine.

Edit: I modified the XML as a previous poster suggested and the links all work now.

stalkertj 01-08-2009 08:51 PM

Does anyone know if 3.8.0 is written completely different and that it would be useless to try and upgrade to 3.8 with vBay installed?

fengwu 01-09-2009 02:39 PM

please upgrade to 3.8
thanks!

squishi 01-10-2009 10:06 PM

This is pretty cool. I started to go through some of the code.
Some questionable security in the admin file, though.

stalkertj 01-11-2009 05:19 PM

I've upgraded my forum to 3.8.0 and did some quick testing... vbay seems to be working just fine!

decipher442 01-12-2009 06:30 PM

Blaine0002.. can i hire you to modify this vbay mod to our likings? If so please get ahold of me..

thanks!

zombietom 01-13-2009 05:36 PM

I have a small problem --if a auction closed without a bid, a PM is sent to the seller ...well on my forums it is senting the pm from an old admins account ..so my Question is where to i change the PM setting to a currrent admin or mod?
any help on where the PM setting are would be great.

thanks

Omnios 01-15-2009 06:09 PM

To do list:
*use forums/categories/subforums for your auctionhouse.
high bidder userid -> username
*" in description cuts the description at that point
add buyer name
fix pm formatting
add more currencies
intergrate with trader ratings
add paypal api
bidder usergroups
*hot auctions on main < - Available with addon (wont be packaged in vbay)
admin editing auctions
*set up for use with forum commenting.
*fix amount of days an auction can be posted (more than 2 char)
ability to prune old auctions
make sure buy it now is using buy it now price, not bid.
allow admin ability to specify bid/buyitnow/both overrides.

* = Completed.
Will these listed "errors" be fixed anytime soon???

mjfhal12 01-19-2009 12:17 AM

I have instatalled Vbay and it is running well. Thanks for the addon.

How do I limit the use to members of a group I choose?

I have changed the options in the control panel to the userid of the group I want AND only those members in that group can SELL but it seems anyone (including guests) can bid.

Thanks in advance for any help.

FRANKTHETANK 2 01-21-2009 01:00 AM

i already have that installed. i need one for forumhome. above forums. anyone done it or know how to do it?

ScienceOfMuscle 01-21-2009 05:51 PM

Little feedback Blaine.

I have it installed and working perfectly for vBulletin 3.8

Also, PM me if you need someone to test things out. :D

Some ideas if you do push forward with improvements:
*Ability to edit auctions after being posted, I seen the ability to edit description, but the rest is no go.
*Admins able to close, or edit users auctions.

Everything else seems 100%... no complaints whatsoever.

rhoula 01-22-2009 02:54 PM

I created a seller group and joined the seller group but when i click "Sell" I receive this message:
"Sorry, you need to be a seller to be able to sell anything! Click HERE to request a sellers account. Thank you."

I click on the link and I shows that I am a member in the group but still I cannot sell.
Can someone please help me.

Thank you :)

jrap 01-22-2009 03:12 PM

rhoula 01-22-2009 04:04 PM

FRANKTHETANK 2 01-23-2009 01:44 AM

can anyone make it so they show on forumhome under navbar? i will pay!

private_ale 01-23-2009 02:27 AM

Works flawlessly on 3.7.X -> http://www.beercandleforums.com/vbay.php?
I changed a few things so that it wouldn't look generic, It also looks more user friendly now with the additions icons. (See attached)

Nonetheless...
  • rated 5 stars
  • marked installed
  • and nominated for MOTM :)

FRANKTHETANK 2 01-25-2009 03:08 AM

Go into the Styles & templates of the style(s) that you are using, then on the drop-down choose "Edit Templates"
Scroll down to "Vbay Templates"

From there you will see all the vbay templates, All I mainly did was add an extra column to the category templates:
Code:

<td class='alt2' align='center'><img src="/images/vbay/{$thecats['catname']}.png" border="0" /></td>
then I uploaded icons to the vbay directory on my server and named each icon to reflect the name of my category, Simple!

Then I simply replaced the vbay nav with a fieldset.

As for the new listing page, I just added tables to help align all the radio buttons and cleaned up the fieldsets with CSS.

Open up the templates and you'll catch on fast, but make a copy of the style and test your changes on that first.
