Andrew, Strange problem...
I use vBA CMPS, and the option to include modules on other vB pages. When I include my standard page now on the local_links.php, it disables my admin ability to change settings in individual categories. I'm sure you'll need admin on my site to see the issue first hand, just let me know when is good for you? Thanks. |
EDIT:
Question: is it possible to disply images instead of a text link in vBadvanced CMPS hot downloads box? normally when there is a hot download, a text link will be shown. i want to show the text as title and the thumbnail for that download (linked to entry).... thanks in advance |
Noob Question but do I have to create folders for all uploads and if so do I enter the fulll path to it or just the URL. were does it store the files.
How should I set it up root/forums/images/ldm_icons root/LDM_Uploads root/forums/images/file_icons_dir root/forums/images/thumbs_dir chkmd to 777 Also I am not sure of this sitting/ local_file_root_prefix I'm not sure what to put in this box even after reading. Thanks and sorry for being such a noob with this. |
I updated my site and for some reason the CMPS module doesnt update the latest downloads

There is an easier way to achieve what you want... Most of the layout settings (linkbit, category style, etc) can be set on a per-category basis as well as globally. Basically, these settings are 'inherited' from parent to child, so each category either uses its own settings or looks to its parent. So set up a new branches in your LDM, e.g. with a top level called 'photos'. On the add/edit category page for 'photos' choose the second tab (Control Settings) and define the layout that you want for this category and its children. E.g. tell LDM to use the photo linkbit. |

The first step is that each filetype that you want to work in the jukebox must have a 'Content-type' entry in the VB admin attachments table - I think someone else has posted that message. Then take a look at http://www.eirma.org/wikis/index.php...DM#The_Jukebox |

If you have any LDM entries that point to files held on the local server (your own or uploads), check that these are still working correctly - there should be no problems. |

There is no need to disable before upgrading. However, if you want to stop your users from seeing LDM while you do the upgrade, switch off VB (VB admincp). |

Most of the items on the link add/edit form can be disabled by setting/unsetting the various permissions on the LDM/Admin/Permissions page. I understand your previous points about LDM looking complex at first -- this is a consequence of providing the flexibility that people have asked for. I agree that we now need a 'first time' admin script to set up the basics. It's just a matter of finding the time to provide it. |
