I have reset all settings and have got it working. Have no clue what was wrong.

Yes, these cookies can be deleted.

The cookies are stored like any other cookie as determined by the browser; yes, a user can delete them and it's possible they are removed when a user logs out using the clear all cookies option (I never checked). However, my experience is that most people are blissfully unaware of them and don't know anything about them.

please say this works with 3.6.0 gold :) this is the only thing keeping me from upgrading, i am testing it with another test board now..
