I am having that issue as well. Funny thing is, when someone uploads a video into the video directory and they tick the box to post a thread with it, the video embeds no problem. The issue is when we try to manually post a video.

Today, however I noticed that new videos (or videos in existing posts if the post is edited) are showing up as http://www.equine-world.co.uk/horse-...sc/film_go.png followed by the video name. Youtube must have changed something as it has been working fine up until now but as someone else said changing the validation in AME settings sorts it. Took me a while to figure out where this was and noticed someone else posted they couldn't find this so thought I'd post instructions for anyone else to make it easy.

Login to Admin and on the left where you see AME click on the little arrow to expand the AME menu and then select Display Definitions. You'll see in the main window Youtube listed as a link. Click on the Youtube link. The very last box on the YouTube page definition is "Validation" - remove what is in this box and click on Save. You should then find that if you post a youtube video link in a post it will now appear embedded and display in the post. It doesn't change the un-embedded links to videos already posted so to change these links to embedded videos you need to edit the post to take the link out, then post the youtube url back in the post for it to be embedded.

Seems I forgot Validation doesn't have it's own column in the definitions listing. You would need to blank that field then. Turning of extraction, however, will prevent you from pulling video titles.

I get the impression that this Youtube issue isn't something we can really fix at the moment, not while Youtube seem to be modifying the video page often as of late. Hopefully when it settles down we can get a proper definition update.

Hello

I have installed version 2.5.6 on vb 3.8.5. Installation process passed without any problems and errors on the way. Yet, I seem to miss something.

There are 2 default recognition patterns. When I try simply adding url pointing to an youtube video it displays text. No additional content. But when surrounded with ame tag it is displayed properly. I can't figure it out. I read many posts and searched the forums but I can not seem to get any answear at all.

Please help

I am trying to delete all of my definitions to install DJ's but when I try to do so the screen ends up white. When I delete them one by one it work. I also cannot import DJ's, I get the same white screen. Am I hitting some kind of max?

webmaster74 04-08-2010 10:46 PM

Where can I find the Regular expression and replacement html code to use for other video sites ?
for example for DailyMotion.
What are the Regular expression and Replacement html code ?
Can anybody help please ?

That's the thing: I did blank it and it still won't work. I do agree that whatever YouTube did to alter it's code is still out there. For now, I created the standard YouTube tags and have my users doing that but it would be nice to use AME instead.

Some of it does, yet so far, I've not been able to duplicate any problems on my board other than the validation issue. I feel like something else might be at play.

Try reuploading admincp/automediaembed_admin.php just to be sure.

The additional definitions are linked in the Add On in the first post.

Let me see the links you are trying to convert.

Daryn 04-10-2010 03:54 AM

DJ, there seems to be new embed options on youtube now. Maybe there's something in there that might be helpful.

jdougher 04-10-2010 11:45 AM

We installed 2.5.6. It's providing a link to youtube, not embedding the videos.

Breakpoint 04-10-2010 11:59 PM

2 days ago my Youtube links were not converting to embeded videos.

But now they seem to be acting funky

We are editing the posts in Advanced mode, and some video's are converting when posting and others are not.

Here is a link for you DJ to possibly check out (the first post links to many videos, as you see some are embeded)

http://www.ps3trophies.com/forums/tr...phy-guide.html

DontWannaName 04-11-2010 05:49 AM

I double checked and that admincp file seems to be up to date with whats in the latest zip. Still getting a blank white screen when trying to delete all the definitions. When I resync the cache it just redirects me to the settings page and when I save the settings it redirects me back to settings. :( The only thing I can think of is that I have moved my forums to a different host but everything was transferred and continues to work.

When I go to delete all of the definitions in its own window, it says that I saved the display order, which is all 1 for some reason. I actually tried to delete all of them, I never changed their order.

DieselMinded 04-13-2010 03:20 AM

all of you tube links are saying embeding not available and are showing links

yes. I made a clean install of vb 3.8.5 on my workstation with only AME 2 5 6 installed and still it doesn't work properly. When I surround link with [ame] tags its fine. Works like a charm. But AME doesn't recognize links properly when they are simply pasted into post. Do I have to make some changes in vb configuration??

Installed fine.

When trying to convert old BBcodes I keep getting this message "You are missing the \1 parameter in at least one of your conversions"

I'm submitting "youtube" as the bbcode and "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\1" as the conversion. Tried everything and can't get it to work. Anyone have any ideas?

Still have the same issue. I re-downloaded and re-installed AME and same issue persists. I kept all the default conversions without altering anything and it gives the same issue. I also tried the youtube conversion listed above and I'm 100% sure there are no spaces, commas, or any other funky characters. Same issue.

It's the same issue this guy had from version 2.0 but no solution was ever posted for it:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ns#post1621118

I altered the php of the admin file to remove the checks and it will bypass the error, but verbose mode shows the bbcodes being updated incorrectly. It basically shows that where the data that's supposed to replace the "\1" part is not getting updated so I don't want to run an actual conversion until I get it straight. I've since reverted the admin file back to original and the "You are missing the \1 parameter in at least one of your conversions" error is back again.

I'll keep messing with it but I'd love some ideas of what else I could try.

accludetuner 04-13-2010 07:02 AM

Here, for more info....if I alter the admin php and comment out the "\1" check like this:
PHP Code:

$value trim($value);

//if (strpos($value, '\1') === false)
                //{

                //    $errors[] = $vbphrase['automediaembed_err_missing_param'];

                //}
                //else
                //{

$replacements[] = "[url]$value"[/url]";

//}

then it will go on to do the simulated conversion but it doesn't actually replace the link. It shows conversions like this:
Quote:

post 23794:
was:
[YOUTUBE]LfeEnzVkglI[/YOUTUBE] oh my god
it is now:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1 oh my god

I even got tired of manually filling out the tags and replacements each time so I altered these in the admin file and this is EXACTLY what shows up in the conversion page and as you can see there is no trailing spaces or characters:
PHP Code:

    if (!isset($settings['codes']))
            {

$settings['codes']             = 'youtube, gvideo, myspacevideo';

$settings['conversions']     = 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\1, http://www.google.com/videoplay\?docid=\1, http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=\1';
            }

JamesUK 04-13-2010 11:24 AM

Is it possible to run this mod in conjunction with vbulletin's built in cached posts function?

I just turned cached posts on on our server as it's been slow lately when we're busy (400+ simultaneous users) but it's stopped the AME working now.

Any help gratefully received.
thanks,
James

Your product is redirecting some users on my site to http://joysportsworld.info:8/

I really like your product and hope this issue can resolved.

EDIT:

The issue seems to be caused by plugin: AME : Permission Hide global_start

ellinofatsa 04-14-2010 08:32 AM

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]\includes\class_bootstrap.php(1146) : eval()'d code on line 38

any help???
if y enabled this i schow that mesage on header.

The Geek 04-14-2010 08:57 AM

Are you using vB4?

ellinofatsa 04-14-2010 09:11 AM

yes

vBulletin 4.0.2 Patch Level 4

is this not for vb4;

The Geek 04-14-2010 09:24 AM

no - hence why its in the 3.8 forums :D

Try AME3 in the vb4.0 forum - but read the readme first.

Any fix for:

Redirecting some users to http://joysportsworld.info:8/

For the time being I've just disabled plugin:

AME : Permission Hide global_start

DieselMinded 04-17-2010 12:24 AM

you was hacked ! , Google - Eval Decode vBulletin Exploit , I suggest you add password protection to your admin directory ASAP

            }

Well, I couldn't wait any more and since no one seemed to have any input on this issue I just manually created a SQL query to replace the old BBcodes with the new AME one. Took several hours of manual entry but at least it got done.

To whoever is currently maintaining this mod, I do believe it is a flaw somewhere in the code. Perhaps it's a PHP version conflict or something, but I am 100% sure that I had the fields filled correctly. Hell, even the DEFAULT entries produced the same error without any change. It might be a fluke error but I would suggest looking into it as I'm not the only one who has experienced it and perhaps others will in the future too.

Thanks for an awesome mod (even with this issue I had) !!!

Pandemikk 04-17-2010 06:25 AM

Thanks! Issue has been resolved.

No, that does not work.

Ricsca 04-17-2010 12:33 PM

For vbulletin 4.0.x version?

Falkware 04-17-2010 05:44 PM

This just stopped working by itself, no changes made. Made sure we're using the latest version. using vBulletin 3.8.4.

YouTube links used to convert to embedded video containers, but now only display an icon and a link to the video.

Verified the Validation field under YouTube is still empty. Verified the default settings are still in use, the same ones that used to work.

If I wrap the YouTube link in [ame] tags it works just fine. It just seems to no longer automatically convert these. Any ideas?

Breakpoint 04-17-2010 07:04 PM

Removing the validation code and then re-editing posts with YOUTUBE links work.

creativepart 04-19-2010 03:08 AM

There is nothing in the Validation Code box in my install. It's blank. So there is nothing to remove. The new YouTube URLs have broken this encoder.

tipoboy 04-19-2010 09:11 AM

same problem youtube links dont automatically convert, but if you wrap the link in [ame]*[/ame] tages then the video converts just fine...

creativepart 04-19-2010 11:50 AM

When I tried this, putting ame tags around the link, my system just changed the ame tags to url tags automatically.

DSOG Thomas 04-19-2010 08:13 PM

ok so a couple of weeks ago youtube stopped embedding automatically and now just posts links. my AME has been working fine for a long time

I can embed youtube by using the embed code inside the [youtube] wrappers, but that defeats the entire purpose

before you ask, nothing has been changed on my site and videos from other places still work, vimeo etc

here is a test page I did

http://stuntride.com/vbstunt/showthread.php?t=13438

in post 1 I posted the url I got the link (its formatted funny though, so ame is still doing something)
in post 2 I posted just the youtube video url inside the [youtube] tags and it resulted in a white box
in post 3 I put just the embed code and I got text
in post 4 i posted the embed code inside the [youtube] tags and it worked

James T Brock 04-20-2010 01:56 AM

Is this incompatible with passivevid? Will I be able to use passivevid for youtube and deactivate/delete the youtube definitions from this script and use it for all of the other supported sites and both will co-exist fine together?
