Is there a way to keep photobucket images and photobucket videos from conflicting? Videos play fine, images get displayed in the video player and dont display

Vimeo just looks like its loading..

extremehabbo 03-25-2010 11:53 AM

when I post the link to the video and it converts it into the video its small, is their anyway of making the video box bigger so that it's watchable? I've checked in admincp for anything about the video width but no joy. :(

Same here issues with images from photobucket displaying as videos.

It has to do with how they are giving out their links now. Here is a comparison of the old photobucket links versus the new:

The old links look like this:

The new links look like this:

I was just about to report the difference in how they are showing the image links now. DJ, may want to look into it. :)

Is there any chance of getting this for AME3?

Is there gonna be an XML file for local *.flv files?!

It doesn't quite work that way. You need a player to play a FLV file, and not just embed code. I may be able to work something out with the JW Player, but that's a different thread and definitions set.

This is similar to above. The research I've done suggests it's not as simple as just using different embed code.

You deleted the thread with the video links, so I have no way to test anything now. I need specific links in order to troubleshoot problems. Vimeo videos are converting on my install.

You either don't have the definitions from this thread, or you do and you're running an outdated version of AME. You need to update one or both.

As I've already mentioned in the AME 3 thread, I'm working on it.

Rideharder 03-27-2010 05:54 AM

Sorry here is the link sir http://www.speedaholic.net/showthread.php?t=855

Thanks Digital Jedi, I love you like a brother!

Yellow Slider 03-27-2010 10:07 AM

well, megavideo has another url for videos and I can't use it.

http://[w.]*megavideo\.com/\?v=[\w]+ this is the REGEX used by DJ'S AME, and there is a new url - http://www.megavideo.com/?d=FMHJY5JM

I hope that you can sort a new REGEX \ embed code.

this is the new url embed code
<object width="640" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.megavideo.com/v/X47KP21B4b0210ff955dc712e62dc1eaaf585028"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.megavideo.com/v/X47KP21B4b0210ff955dc712e62dc1eaaf585028" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="344"></embed></object>

You say that the video is just showing "Loading..." for you? Is it doing this for anyone else, because I just watched the Skyline GTR video with no load problems? So did the someone in the thread. It may just be a local PC problem.

I'll update it, but it's an easy fix. Change the v in your regext to [vd]+:

Looked at it through Chrome, IE, Firefox and Opera. The only place I ran into any trouble was Firefox. However, visiting the Vimeo video page also had the same problem in the same browser. This appears to be a problem on Vimeo's end, as all the definition does is replicate their embed code. That's the only reason it would load sometimes, and not others.

It needs a slight tweak. Not sure why that's happening now.

I don't have a definition to run MP3 from an external link. A definition like that would likely cause too many problems, as it would match when you don't want it to match. I have a set of definitions for Local Hosted MP3s, but nothing here would have any effect on any of your existing BB Code, unless it were for the same site as one of the definitions.

Thank you reply on my post !
So, how the members can post songs from external link and can run on my forum

Digital Jedi 03-28-2010 06:12 AM

<font size="3">**Announcement**</font>

It only just recently occurred to me that having a ZIP file for individual definitions is somewhat redundant, considering that you have the option to pick which definitions you want when importing the Master XML anyway. This is actually far easier than importing one at a time, and I'm not sure why that never occurred to me before.

In that case, I'll be dropping the ZIP file and only provide a Master XML for download. However, I'll still be providing updates in the form of individual XML files, as I have been doing since the beginning. This will not only save me time, but confusion on the user end, since some folks aren't reading the first post more then a paragraph down anyway.

The forum will probably send an automatic update when I do this, so if it does, I've posted this to let you know what's going on.

There are some BB Codes around here that do that, and are less likely to cause conflicts within your user's posts.

**UPDATES**
The following post contains some updated definitions based on the last few conversations we've had over the last couple of weeks. A lot of you may have made these tweaks already, but in any case here they are:

Game Trailers (Old): Tweaked to support RSS feeds. You still need to add [AME] tags in your link in the RSS Manager, most likely.

GoEar (Parts 1 & 2): Tweaked to match some of the new language characters they've started using. Should do most letters if not all.

JustinTV (Clips, Live & Live 2): Foreign language feeds and clips should now all be compatible.

MegaVideo: Tweaked for the new inexplicable single character found in new URLs.

Yahoo!: I don't remember what I did here, but I know I fixed somethin'. :erm:

YouTube: Should now embed all the links using the funny symbols and symbol combinations.

So much for regularity. Here's the new stuff:

SuperMotors: Requested definition.

YouTube (Profile Pages): Now you can embed the URL that comes up when you watch a video on a profile page.

So is the solution to the photobucket video/photo conflict to install the old definition as Rideharder suggests?

sorry for not understanding you, by "validation" you mean

Validation This is an optional regular expression that can be used to test if the destination page supports external embedding. Note that this option will only work if the Extract Destination Data setting is enabled (and working).

value=&quot;http://www\.youtube\.com/v/([\w\-]*)?&amp;

I need to erase it? how do I turn it off?

edit, just erased the validation part and it's working..
I wonder what's the difference..

You can do that, but all you really needed to do was uncheck the box.

Validation checks to make sure that videos don't have external embedding disabled before bothering to embed them. Hence the mouseover that says "External Embedding Not Available". If the definition can't find a match to that RegEx, it skips embedding and puts a link instead. Since YouTube changed the formatting of their page, the current validation RegEx will never find what it's looking for.

Uncheck this box.? (change from yes to no in YouTube Definitions.?)

Extract destination data
This setting may be overridden by the global setting. It is required in order to fetch embedded text for some providers (i.e. yahoo and dailymotion). It is also required if you want to show the title of the page
I dont see any check box next to "Validation"

I was struggling to find a checkbox for "validation", but I believe what DJ is referring to is the setting called "Extract Destination Data". At least that's what it's called on my installation. I turned that off and YouTube videos are now correctly showing once again. Remember, on existing posts you have to go in and edit the post and save it.

*edit - Should have refreshed the page before posting my reply. :)
