I ended up upgrading to 3.7.0 VB today and re-uploaded the CES files.

IE shows page not found/error, while FF shows loop error

The logs:

- - [08/May/2008:19:59:20 -0500] "GET /shownews.php?t=20961 HTTP/1.1" 301 - "http://www.talkjesus.com/" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9b5) G

I still get a blank page now when going directly to the "blog" forum.

I would expect that the infinite redirect is probably a conflict with vbSEO. The two products must be fighting over who gets to change the thread URL... vbSEO is a paid-on, so I cannot offer support for this issue.

I would recommend making sure that any vbSEO showthread_start or forumdisplay_start plugins, if it has any, have an Execution Order HIGHER than 5. If this doesn't help, I would need admin access to see what your setup is like.

Recently found a bug where sometimes the AJAX Quick Edit on newsdisplay uses the shownews postbit and vice verse. Fixed in demo.

thincom2000 05-15-2008 05:01 PM

Found a few other bugs recently. Mainly that since adding support for news.php aliases, the preview, previewlength, and more BB-Codes stopped functioning properly.

@chadi, I suspect the solution to the BB-Code issue may also solve your vbSEO issue. Try out the new patch and let me know.

This is a great idea. I wish there was a way to mark any thread from any forum as 'news' and then have it display a list of those 'news' threads. That was really what I was looking for.

Hi all,
i have a problem in the CES Last Thread Title Maximum Displayed Characters.
Ive forget to modify the XML file
Code:

<thead>
        <tr align="center">
          <td class="thead">&nbsp;</td>
          <td class="thead" width="100%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="175" nowrap="nowrap">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions[showmoderatorcolumn]">
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>
</thead>

replacig with this (like the rests of all my forums):

Code:

    <tr align="center">
      <td class="thead">&nbsp;</td>
      <td class="thead" width="70%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
      <td class="thead" width="20%">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
      <td class="thead" width="5%">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
      <td class="thead" width="5%">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
      <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
      <td class="thead" width="0%">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
      </if>
    </tr>

Without this replacement in the forum home, the space on the title of post is to small of the others forum, and is not great to look.

Can i reupload the XML without lost the articles that i have already added?
Or i will lost all the articles?

Can i reupload in the plugin system with the "yes" check?

AnyOne can help me?

Sorry for my bad english.

You can edit the template in vBulletin's Style Manager. I'm sure there's a tutorial on this somewhere, but you don't need to be editing any XML files for something like this.
