bada_bing since the search fix for you isn't complicated, I'll tell you where you can do to change it for now, when you update it will just override it and put in the new option for you. In the glossary.php look for the following code:

PHP Code:

if(strlen($search) < 3

Now replace '3' with whatever number you want the limit to be.

Thank you very much I will try this.

Well I'm ahead of schedule so the release for 12/09/2006 won't happen, its going to be now. Please note that version 1.1.4. of Mindestic GlosPro is the final version for vBulletin 3.5.X series and there will be no more development or support for this vBulletin series. However development for vBulletin 3.6.X series has start and at this time works for both versions. You may click on the following link for information on that.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=132632

The following is what you'll see in 1.1.4:
  • Fixed missing 'GLOSSARY_DELETE' template.
  • 5 new phrases.
  • 1 new template.
  • Updated manual for Mindestic GlosPro.

I'm still on 3.5.4, once I upgrade to the 3.6.4 (within few weeks) will 1.1.4 glossary work on both versions of vB ? I mean, safe to upgrade, will it work on 3.5.4.

SS9267547 11-27-2006 06:22 PM

dendrob: There is alway a risk with this kindd of stuff. However if you wish to upgrade for the next forum version I already released a new version for 3.6.X. Simply upgrade when the new forums ready.

dendrob 12-08-2006 05:28 PM

I upgraded and worked fine.

btw, suggestion that would be very useful. I see you're planning the:

"Adding custom field(s) for each glossary term. (0% Complete)"

could you also set it so you can specify custom fields for categories?

ie. say you have a category for basic definitions (no fields required) and a category for "flowers", they will need extra fields

This way if somone enters a term to the glossary they won't have extra fields to fill in, but if somone enters a flower,

then they will fill in
Scientific Name:
Range:
Growing conditions:
Soil type:
etc, etc

This would come in very handy for me and I'm sure others wouldn't mind it either.

let me know if something like that would be possible

SS9267547 12-08-2006 05:44 PM

I think that would be possiable, still havn't figure how to do this yet lol, however if anything was added to the mod it would be for the 3.6.X series of the mod.

Okay let me see if I can answer some of those questions out there, thats if you guys still need them lol.

louis_chypher: Thank you for bringing the two term issue, will look into that and see if I can figure out a solution to that.

An update on what we have found with the two term issue.

The issue crops up with when a glossary word has a subset word that is also defined in the glossary; such as the case of the words 'play' and 'play party'.
When the word 'play party' is used then there is an error (as previously described). For now we have removed from the glossary the word 'play'.

I have a problem when i put ON the Glossary Crosslinking. Any idea why?

My printscreen:

SS9267547 01-23-2007 10:54 PM

There are issues with the crosslinking feature. If you would like to use it you can try the vb 3.6 version which should work fine on 3.5 boards at this time anyway. Of course the crosslink feature for 3.6 version isn't at 100% yet either lol. :)

louis_chypher 06-01-2007 09:06 PM

Is there vB code that we can use for the glossary? Lets say the glossary crossliinking is off but I want a cross link to the glossary then I use [glospro]the word to cross link to[/glosspro] or if the glossary cross linking is on but I wish not to have a word cross link then I might use [noglosspro]the word I do not want to cross link to[/noglosspro]?
