I'll include it in the next update |
All my usernames and their comments are "Null" did I miss the fix on one of the pages prior?
Edit: Ignore me...update location...update map....i'm dense |

Don't forget to upgrade to the latest version.
This will save a lot on the number of queries on the main page. Thanks Moreover it's easier for me to support a single version. If needed I will tell you just that sorry |
Hi StoneyARC, great job on the product m8!!
Just a question... is it possible for you to change the behaviour of the usergroup icons? I have a hierarchy: Primary groups
(Display Usergroup is a setting that is either on Default, or on one of the groups that the member is member of...), it changes the usertitle to that group's title, the color of the nickname etc. etc. So it would be nice if your product would also make use of that very same function :) Hope you dig, and thanks already :D |
There's support for marker colours in the admincp. Run the scheduled task afer you change it though.
I got rid of my usergroup legend and set my markers to all the same colour as it isn't needed on my forum. (I also edited the group legend out of the templates for "list users") |
Please re-read my post.. (Just edited the LIST to be more explaining by itself :D)

I may be missing something or just dense, but...
i added the scheduled task and ran it (more than one) but none of my users are showing up and my map is blank. what do i do? |

Seems like the scheduled task isn't running correctly. If your click run now does it show a page with "done" on it? If so just click your entry on the main map and click update. That should fix it. If not get back to me |

- When I click run now it DOES say done almost instantly - as for my entry, i don't have an entry as of yet. i just tried starting from scratch so we'll see how it goes. does every user have to do this manually or will it populate all my users when i run the task? |

As global geodcoding based on addresses is expensive and most of the users don't want to give the address that isn't released. I however have written the code to do just that. |
ok i installed your other hack for the googlemaps in the user profile field and i added myself that way but i'd like to avoid having each user do it manually.
additionally... i can't get the link to show up in the post bit to click on a user and take you to their spot on the map, when i put it in, it only shows up for admin. |
here's an idea. would it be possible to have the user's ip give a location (just the city/state) and put that on the map automatically?
|

If you have the money to spend you could even do it on telephone number for all I care. you need an IP to location reference database. That's custom code. Respect the privacy of users is one of the rules for using this so you should leave it up to your users to be on it or not. The detail level is very high is some regions. |
ok fair enough. i'm relatively new to this so just kicking around ideas to get a feel for how it all works.
here's a question... in the postbit i can see the link to my own location but not to the 2nd user that's put in his location so far. why is that? the other user only sees the link under my name and nobody else's including himself. |

There is an approval system in place. You either auto approve an entry or an admin needs to approve an entry by using the admincp Check the settings. It's all explained in the pdf file too. |
auto approve is set to on. and both users that have updated are in the green online status.

You can also hide certain groups from the legend. |

right, but.... in a thread in the postbit, under my avatar there's a link to click on to send you to my spot on the map. there's not one under jerseymutt's

I'll check the code if there are any issues |
it's gotta be in the right place since it works for me right?
|
Just uninstalled my old version of this hack and installed the latest version. All is well except I do not have the control panel for the hack in the usergroups menu. So I can make all the settings but I cannot set it so I or anyone else can see the map.
I realise I have probably missed something stupid but I cannot see what it is. I am going to upgrade the HSE version as well but want to get this right first. www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/forum Thanks in advance. |

Also do a full refresh of the FULL browser. admincp is a frames page. |

When exactly do you get this error? Can you please reinstall the product with a full overwrite? |
thanks for the update, looks great.
Is there a way to replace a users default vbulletin location in the postbit if they have a googlemap location set? Also I seem to be having problems with the usergroups. I tried to get one usergroup to show up on the map with yellow balloons and it didn't work, but even when I disabled that usergroup there were 2 normal users who showed up with yellow balloons for some reason. (I only have blue, green and red enabled). You can see the yellow ones in so. ca. and also in ontario, canada a little above new york. (its hidden behind 3 others) |

or by going to the map, clicking your entry and clicking update which also forces a reload. that should fix it. |
on a more pleasant note
Check out the new Xbox Live version I made http://www.xboxusersgroup.com/forums...hp?do=showmain |
i'm still in the situation where the map is working perfectly but the link in the user informotaion in the postbit is only showing up for one person and not the other. we are both admins so it shouldn't be a usergroup issue. any ideas?
|
I can't get the markers to show up on the map for some reason. I tried running the cron job too but i get this:
Code:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/domain/domain.com/forum/includes/adminfunctions.php:236) in /includes/cron/vbgooglemapme_cron.php on line 20 nevermind, i fixed it by reuploading the product file. Thanks for the hack. |

Can you make sure that the $post[findme] is put outside any of the conditions (if's) just to make sure. Also check the plugin code It must look like this one PHP Code:
|
ok so here's the end result. i put the $post[findme] outside the if condition for the avatar and it showed up with "my location" the additional hack that you had for the profile was showing another link that said "dr.viggy's location" but it wasn't showing for anyone else. i removed the code for the profile hack and it left the "my location" link for the users that have added map entries. it's 100% now. thanks for all your help.

No problem enjoy the app |
I think there is a problem with the formating when using Firefox. Worked fine with the prior version but the new version seam to not align up correctly in FF but ok in IE
Here is the link to an example http://seekingadultfriends.com/forums/vbgooglemapme.php |
