That is not possible, sorry :(
You need to edit their names in the Button Manager.

Thank you for your answer. I have just used your mod on my live site wich is bilingual so It would be nice if I could add phrase for members with different languages.

And there is other thing. My site have use Abe post thanks 7.82 for so long. After I imported thanks, It shows for every post but when I see on postbit statistics only thanks (given) were showed, thank (received) shows zero always.

Thank you for your work,

DragonByte Tech 02-22-2012 02:29 PM

The received issue is a known issue and there will be a tool to correct it in a future version :)

sweetpotato 02-22-2012 02:38 PM

OK, Now can I uninstall Abe Mod or should wait for the your future version before Uninstall Abe's to make sure my site will not lose data?

It won't lose data either way, the maintenance action will just rebuild the "received user" data from the "thanks given" data already imported :)

Okay...?

I'm not entirely sure what you expect me to do when you don't post any information such as an error message or what you were doing when it occurred...

RustyF 02-22-2012 07:00 PM

Thanks, I'm not a programmer, no idea what the things i'm seeing in FireFox Error console mean.

DragonByte Tech 02-22-2012 07:11 PM

If you post the things here (be sure you click the "Errors" tab so you don't receive CSS warnings) then I have a better chance of analysing them for you ;)

Fillip

I'm a wee bit lost. :) Lots of warning mostly to do with Json. Get an error with vB default that has to do with FaceBook. Glad you told me not to do errors, lots of those. Almost missed it.

Code:

Error: uncaught exception: Error: Permission denied for <https://www.facebook.com> to get property Proxy.InstallTrigger
That is the only error I see and I think only when logged into FB which I'm usually not.

I have not checked the price, but if I buy it will you install it. lol I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Thanks, I'll wait. :)

RustyF 02-22-2012 08:47 PM

Well, I'm even more confused. it is now working. I'm going to re-enable the Experience script and see if that breaks it again.

RustyF 02-22-2012 09:30 PM

As best as I can tell everything is working fine now. Thanks

Luffy-9 02-23-2012 03:11 PM

Like Mark said, check the button configuration in Button Management. Ensure you have Super Admin privileges or the Can Administer Thanks privilege :)

Please ensure you have configured usergroup permissions in the Button Management interface in the AdminCP.

Is there a way to disable these options:

Require Thanks to see content
Require Thanks to see attachments

DragonByte Tech 02-26-2012 10:18 PM

Untick the "Can Require Click" from the Button Management.

Mr Morningstarr 02-27-2012 08:49 PM

I have removed this plugin but I'm still getting notifications for 'likes'

I uninstalled and removed all files, what else do I need to do?

Mr Morningstarr 02-27-2012 10:20 PM

Actually there's a little tag there which says "like" and is letting me like peolle's posts. Surely that shouldn't be there still?

Are you sure this isn't part of another mod e.g vBSEO?

regd87 02-28-2012 01:06 AM

I'm getting this error, please help?

"/home/reptilea/public_html/forums/dbtech/thanks/includes/class_install.php appears to be missing!"

Good gravy, I never even knew that existed!

I appear to have removed another plugin which was conflicting with it so it suddenly appeared!

Fillip I have strange issue

1- I installed this mod
2- I changed the settings and permission for like / unlike
3- I uninstalled the mod
4- I installed it again
5- The settings and permission is still as same as what I did before I uninstall it, it is not the default !

Why this happen?
When I uninstall and reinstall I should have the default settings

grunty1 02-28-2012 02:45 PM

Hey, I'm looking to make the 'like this post' / 'dislike this post' buttons available in other languages on my forum. I created a custom phrase with the translation, but I can't figure out how to incorporate the phrases so that they display in whatever language the user has set.

Is there a certain template I need to edit? Or is it impossible to make the text appear as a phrase instead of fixed text?

It's possible your database cached the old settings, that could be why. After reinstall, simply hit Repair Cache :)

Also, I don't know why I forgot to mention this, but recently we had a member create a simple script that allowed went through and could like/dislike every single post in the forum in a relatively short period of time, regardless of whether they had access to the board or anything else.

Script and explanation can be found here: http://bit.ly/x1RiuG

Do you know of anyway to prevent such scripts from being used to abuse the system?

Added it to the config.php file and still nothing, whenever I select any of the options under DBTech the screen to the right of the menu bar just goes white.

Are you running the i.s.s.w "security" product? If so, please disable it.

Without seeing the full script (i.e. the bits starred out) it's really hard to tell.

I can say that the Pro version does indeed have a "clicks per day" limit :)

That being said, you're right in that it doesn't check forum permissions. I will hotfix the Lite version available @ DBTech and push the updated file to vBulletin.org in the next update of APTL :)

Fangs404 02-29-2012 05:01 PM

Nice mod! I have the pro version and have noticed 2 things:

1. Why is there both "Require Thanks to see content" and the [hide] tag? It makes more sense that it should be one but not both. Specifically, the [hide] makes the most sense because it allows the user to place text around the [hide] tag that is visible to everyone without hitting thanks. Requiring the user to check "Require Thanks to see content" is bad for 2 reason:

a. It confuses the user because this option gives no indication that the user must also use the [hide] tag. Specifically, a user that's never used the system before would see the "Require Thanks to see content" and think, "If I check this, when I submit this post, no one will be able to see my content."

b. "Require Thanks to see content" isn't quick reply-friendly. You must go into the advanced reply in order to check this box.

What seems to make more sense would be to just do away with "Require Thanks to see content" and scan every reply for [hide] and react accordingly.

2. The "Post Thanks / Like" box is shown below every user regardless of whether they have received thanks or not. Instead, why not show this only if the user has received thanks to reduce forum clutter?

Thanks for your excellent support! It's good to see a coder support their product like this.

Then if you can't get your server to produce an error message I can't help any further, sorry :(

Please check for any error log files in your admincp directory.
