There is coding in the xml that s"tates the version it is good for. Open the xml in notepad, find/change the: "maxversion=4.1.0" to "maxversion=4.2.0"

WallyGR 01-19-2011 04:02 AM

I still cannot solve the wrong thanx count in my forum users after I upgraded from 3.8 to 4.1.1 and to the new Thank Yoy Hack version.

Update Post Count did not fix anything.

Is there some code or sql that I could have a look or any other suggestion?

Thanx in advance!

1. Find and edit product-post_thanks.xml as follows:

2. FIND around line 15:

Code:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.0 beta 4" maxversion="4.1.0 alpha 1" />
3. CHANGE the last part to maxversion="4.1.99" so it now looks like:

Code:

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.0 beta 4" maxversion="4.1.99" />
4. SAVE.

5. IMPORT product-post_thanks.xml in Add Product.

Thank you guys. I should have looked back a little more than I did but again thank you.

BOOOO:

This product is not compatible with version 4.1.1 of vBulletin. (Compatible starting with 4.0.0 beta 4 / Incompatible with 4.1.0 alpha 1 and greater)

-----------------------------

never mind!! fixed it... you should edit the FIRST post with the

"<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.0 beta 4" maxversion="4.1.0 alpha 1" />" to 4.1.99 edit to make it work with 4.1.1 so that way i didnt have to search 83 pages. =]

this is awesome and exactly what i was looking for!

+1

On my forum, the links to the "Thanked" posts do not work.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Not to hijack the thread or anything, but since this is unsupported and the coder is MIA you guys might want to try this as an alternative: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=DBTech

To the best of my knowledge it does everything abes does and more.

Full Disclosure: This is my mod =P

Seems like friendly advice and others have posted the same in this thread, same advice I've been handing out tbo. This was the original "thanks" mod if I remember correctly... I wish some had time to support their mods it would help the community more imo.

fredang85 01-23-2011 11:21 AM

Help! i went to uninstall my 3.8.4 thank you mod already. is there anything i can do to upgrade?

vauge 01-23-2011 02:27 PM

vbseo has an amazing addition in its latest version called "likes" it can inport your thanks from multiple systems. Amazing and very fast. Plus is has histories in profiles. We had over 500k thanks that transfered flawlessly.

Check it out on vbseo website. I am a customer like everyone else, but this was a very welcome change on my forum.

nacaruncr 01-23-2011 06:00 PM

Is there the possibility that a new version is displayed thanks to the users made but in the posts that they did?
Something like this right now the vBSEO, which shows how many thanks you have received and what thread.

Thanks.

Don't you have to get the Pro version to get all that Abe's has, though?

That's what I thought. I'll stick with Abe's version then.

Any suggestion for retrieving the thanks database?

regards,

P.S: my question was being answered while i was posting... but which counter should update? I can't see any specific counter for thanks.

Goto AdminCP -> Post Thanks -> Recounters and update everything.

In my case, the thanks table in database was removed. I imported the table first and then updated the counter.

All the thanks are back now...
I just wasn't aware of this recountering feature!

They provide a script in their Pro version to import thanks from Post Thank You Hack mod!

ET 7 01-27-2011 07:11 AM

how can I install this on my vB? I have 4.1.1 and it says it isn't compatible.

few steps I did but honestly I winged it, it smy first Mod I am doing so let me know if I did anything wrong.

1) I went to filezilla, copied the contents inside "upload via ftp" folder into the public_html of mine.
2) i went into manage products and choose file than import.

thats when I got the error. Did i skip any steps for my first time doing this?

ErikTheRed 01-27-2011 03:56 PM

Are any devs planning on making this compatible with 4.1.1? I'd be willing to tip...

NickyNet 01-27-2011 04:40 PM
