It works fine to create new users but i cannot connect my facebook-account to my own profile. No error or anything.

I get to a page where i click "Want to use your existing username?", i then login with my own login/pass and get logged in to the forum, but im not connected with my facebook account.

No error messages or anything. Forum can be found on http://forum.asien.se

Any ideas?

Hey, the exact same thing happened to me. I have the earlier (pre 3.8) version installed on a 3.7 forum (http://www.theworshipcommunity.com) and it works perfectly - including the ability to use your existing iD ... everything works great.

I just installed this plugin again (the 3.8 version on a new 3.8 forum at http://www.e-businessonline.com) and I'm seeing the same issue ... I choose "use my existing username", I then enter my vbulletin userID/password, and it logs me in as the normal user - does NOT update my FaceBook page.

My guess is that whatever files were modified recently on this plugin, they are the culprit - I know that when I downloaded the latest version this week, there seemed to be a few more files and mods to make than when I installed it a couple of months ago. I'm having same trouble you are, so it must not be an issue of 3.7 or 3.8, but an issue w/ the files we're using. Maybe we'll get a code fix or an update?

I don't know if this has been posted yet or not (so many post to read through).. But if someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

I had the facebook app installed yesterday.. Now I keep getting this message: The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters.when I'm trying to create a post. This has never happen.. I have the setting at 1 so I know that's not the reason.. It didn't do this until after I downloaded the facebook app.
The other Admin of the site is able to post at her home computer, but not at her work. I'm not able to post at either. Has anyone else had this problem before?

I had this problem and had to reedit my NEWTHREAD and NEWREPLY templates.
I also uninstalled.
I really would love to get this to work on my 3.8.1
Willing to pay if someone can install this successfully for me.

I'll make this suggestion....go get the Add This button. I installed it both on my forum homepage and in the thread and post templates. The Add This button adds the ability to submit stuff to several social bookmarking sites, including Facebook, without editing any templates or installing any mods.

The only issue I havent been able to resolve is making the button visible to guests.....you have to be a registered user to see and use it.

Facebook Connect is ALOT more then just sharing links...

EDIT*** Correction. As long as your addon is enabled, the grabber won't work. Regardless if someone is connected normally without a Facebook account or not. Nutz!!

Did anyone notice that the 'publish' button on the popup that comes up when you post a message has stopped working?

It also used to ask you if you wanted a single line or not - that is gone

muratyamac - I think the canvas is irrelevant, doesn't matter ... doesn't ever really show a page or anything - it's not meant to be viewed that way. From what I'm reading here and the other thread, this mod is not working for anyone until some updates come out - this since the most recent FB update last week.

We put together a fix for the user issue. There was an var mapfp that was not being set.

We changed the Map FB User to:

I've installed everything but it appears I'm encountering some bugs.

1. Initially when I typed my Facebook login, I incorrectly entered my password. I was told, however, that my cookies were disabled.

2. Once Connected, I tried to use my current account. I logged in, but everything was as if I had just logged in normally without Facebook at all.

3. I logged out and Connected again. This time, I just chose a name and submitted. The popup, asking about publishing a story, then froze. I could click the checkbox but couldn't click a button. Finally I got this error.

What do you mean? The settings FOR facebook from your forum?










As for the mod... I love it, but now the "Publish" button no longer works :-(
anyone else have this problem?

Log into Facebook, Go to Settings, Click on Developer (not edit, acutally click the word developer), Then in the My Applications box, you should see your app, click it then click edit settings

I just installed the mod for the first time and I can log in with my facebook account no problem. But the Publish button does not work. You can't click it and it's this way in every browser.

2.0.5 is out, which resolves the 'publish' button not working:

Just uploaded 2.0.5 and it works in 3.7 and fixes the Publish button.

I'm not getting any notifications when someone replies to a thread I started. The only notifications I get is when I receive a PM. Is this fixed in 2.0.5 as well? And if I'm currently using 2.0.3 can I upload straight to 2.0.5? Thank you - this is such a promising mod with the popularity of the Facebook increasing!

but work only in firefox and opera not work in ie7 or ie8

how do I know if this is working? it hasn't updated me with new freidns and posts doesn't seem to go to news feed. I can connect properly though.
