So we have to uninstall the AnyMedia and put that in or just overwrite like an upgrade?

jalmz 12-19-2007 12:33 AM

it does not work in php4. hehe

Chadi 12-19-2007 12:43 AM

Uninstalling anymedia 3x left this in the usergroup manager area. How do I fix this?

testebr 12-19-2007 01:30 AM

"Forum admins can add their own video sites"

Where is that option? I dont find nothing in my admincp.

The godtube not working its my fault. Missed a template. I'm going to upload the new version right now.

I would. This has been completely rewritten and the files have changed. You can delete everything related to anymedia and then upload this.

Same thing as your post above. Just install the xml again.

If you look in goldbrick/includes/sites you'll see the site files. You just have to mimic how their down. You'll need regex knowledge though.

XFSImperial 12-19-2007 03:15 AM

Cool, downloaded. AnyMedia was great so I hope goldbrick is even better. Thanks for the release!

vuiveclub 12-19-2007 07:17 AM

Does this new version work with vBblog???

Hornstar 12-19-2007 08:45 AM

Anyone tested this on vb 3.7 beta 2 yet?

katie hunter 12-19-2007 09:09 AM

Hey nix, nice hack! but i am concerned about the queries this mod put, cause my site hits max queries most of the time causing it db error. Is this hack heavy ? I mean in queries wise ?

thanks, worked well! installed!

JohnBee 12-19-2007 01:29 PM

Upgraded to GodlBrick seems to work quite well(love the background dimming function!). However, I lost my anymedia editor icon though. Does the mod create a new new or do we have to manually add one?

The instructions are just what you did. Make sure you up load the includes folder also. You should see options in vb options and then in usergroups and forums. Sounds like you didn't upload the include folder.

Just to clarify things, here's exactly what I did:

The goldbrick zip file contains 3 folders in the upload directory named 'goldbrick', 'players' and 'includes'

My forum resides in a subdirectory named 'forums' which already contains a folder named 'includes/xml'

I uploaded the goldbrick files so that the directory structure looks like this:

forums/goldbrick/(All subdirectories and files)
forums/players/(All subdirectories and files)
forums/includes/xml/bitfield_goldbrick.xml

Import product file: product-goldbrick-6.xml

I've done this twice now and all I see in usergroups are 3 radio buttons in a blank box between the usergroup box and the forum viewing permissions box. I have anymedia installed on a different site and follwed the exact same install procedure and everything worked fine. I have no idea what to do next.

jdelasko 12-19-2007 05:53 PM

OK. Nevermind. The problem was between keyboard and chair. Once I Imported the correct product file, product-goldbrick-7.xml, everything works fine

I'm really confused here. I re-downloaded / re-uploaded anymedia which your file shows as 3.1b3 but it is still not working for godtube.com

Now, I still do not have any idea how goldbrick is supposed to work. Do you just copy/paste the permalink into the body of the thread and thats it? No bbcodes? It doesn't work for me if I use goldbrick (w/ anymedia disabled).

I simply put this in the body:

http://www.godtube.com/view_video.ph...e619e7036fe597

It just shows up as a link. Even worst, none of the video posts (posted while using anymedia) are working now even though anymedia is disabled and goldbrick enabled.

Chadi 12-19-2007 06:43 PM

Goldbrick is also interferring with CES News hack
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...39#post1404839

Checked the ces news area on my site and getting this error after installing goldbrick

Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /home/user/public_html/includes/ces_news_functions.php(51) : eval()'d code on line 1

sensimilla 12-19-2007 06:49 PM

Oustanding update! Thanks alot!

sensimilla 12-19-2007 07:33 PM

Not working for me

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/root/public_html/site/goldbrick/plugins/bbcode_create.php on line 52

when i try to access my forum.

nix 12-19-2007 08:09 PM

What version of php are you using?

Chadi 12-19-2007 08:11 PM

Not sure who your asking, but I'm using php 5.2.5

Don't need the icon anymore. It will auto phrase the links. If you want to add media options you'll see them right under the attachment section.

Download the zip again. Upload then import and override. Let me know if it works.

The blank phrases for usergroups is fixed in the new zip. I'll fix godtube for you tonight.

Hornstar 12-19-2007 09:55 PM

Just noticed some things. I am a first time user of this, so I am just trying to learn how everything works currently etc.

However what I did notice was, when you add say a youtube link to the post, and then you select use goldbrick and you have the goldbrick options, and then you save your thread, however if you edit your thread, and go to advanced options again, there is no more goldbrick options. Thought that was strange.

nix 12-20-2007 12:04 AM

Yea I still have to add some features. The goldbrick options are more for non video sites.

Thanks, did that, no effect.
Also, I noticed that none of the highslide controls appear when highslide is active(images).

PS. I completely uninstalled anymedia before installing goldbrick

nix 12-20-2007 01:37 AM

You can configure how the images are displayed in the highslide.js file. You can also use the right arrow to move between images and videos.

Chadi 12-20-2007 02:42 AM

Nix, quick question. Are you fixing up godtube for anymedia or for goldbrick.

if its goldbrick, please explain how posting a video clip works.

Bbcodes or not? Just copy/paste the embed (or permalink) code in the post?

Please also note my previous post (below)

Just the link. I'm uploading the fixed version now. So download the files again and then upload the files and import the product.

Not sure about the news problem. Looks like its using attachments.

Chadi 12-20-2007 05:04 AM

This is just not working. I upgraded goldbrick, uninstalled anymedia.

Now all previous posts show actual [media] bbcode in the post, publicly.

And, posting just links only shows just links in the post

Example:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=zCdZwitrNoY

All I see is just the hyperlink itself. I have all media extension options enabled too
