chat works if i click on the archive then go back, otherwise im faced with the error and no load all the time.

That was stupid of me!! I read the instructions as to upload the "f" folder in the root not the contents..

I use vbcms from vbdesigns.de and i wish to use the Chatbox on the Portal.
Is there a way to globolize the chatbox for this portal??
I have put the code from vbadvanced but there comes the chatbox without buttons and shouts.

Hopefully final question,

I have all installed and set my permission in usergroups for the chat. I'm the superadmin and people with less privileges are able to access it. I have created a regular account and still am unable to access the chat. ???

I have never used vbcms but I think it might use a function to print the portal.

So if the chatbox var is not globalize in that function then it won't be possible to make it worked well.

Did you set the option to show the chatbox in your usercp to no ?

By the way have you done the modification to the modifyoptions template ?

I thought I re-installed an older version (files/product) but afterwards it still looks and functions like the newer version...only, it works. lol

I have checked over the install and reinstalled too. The modifyoptions does include this:

If it supposed to be in the uscp edit options, it's not showing up? I'm not sure where this function is:

yes it is supposed to for users which have the right in their usergroup to access to the chatbox.

In fact, the Chatbox is working fine, but I get tired to calm the users down, for version 1.5. :)

I dunno what I'm doing wrong, but I followed the readme instructions to the letter and it just does not show up on the portal (vbadvanced)

Did you try the following:

> Go in the admincp, in the "Display and position" chatbox option page.
> Activate the "Display on defined pages of the forum in a variable" option.
> Then in the pages list, add : adv_index and then validate.
> Create a new vBadvanced template based module with the following parameters :

> Title : MGC Chatbox
> Template to include : mgc_chatbox
> Styles : the style on which you want the module to be shown
> Template content : $mgc_chatbox
> Select no for the wrapper template option
> Then validate

> In the edit modules page, add the chatbox module to the homepage on the center wherever you want it to be positionned.

This is a fabulous add-on. Thanks a TON !!!

It installed cleanly and easily. Installed the English translations,
Once I had made all the admin adjustments, I then looked at the operation.

Hmmmm... there are 4 or 5 translations that did not happen.....
so I did them myself.

The "mouseover (hint)" for the "Show Chatbox in a New Page" button was still in French.
The "help" screen... for the "/pm" or "/mp" command was still in French.
A few more phrases had not been translated...
"de" should be "from"
"vous dit" should be "you said"

Actually it was quite simple to find these untranslated phrases... they show up as white text on the "Languages" screen, whereas the translated phrases show up as orange text.

The "help" screen.... the "close" button still shows in French (Fermer), and I don't know how to change it.

Obviously these "fixes" are easy to do; I just thought I would point them out to you.

A blank page ? A blank page can come from anything unfortunately.

Did you upload all files before installing the product ?

Have you made modifications to any of the elements before installing it ?

i guess i did remove a style as soon as i upgraded to 3.6.8 and that messed every thing.

Salut il y a un soucis avec netscape les messages depassent dans les forums

I have this product installed and its great....I did a search for vbadvanced, however I didnt see a response.

This isnt to have it on my vbadvanced page, the problem I am having is getting it to show up in the navbar for vbadvanced. I tried adding mgc_chatbox.php to the replacements but nothing happened.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

I think in next versions people should be able to save colours ect... Like when you log in it says Remeber me,Instead it says Save this With the box,That would make me v happy

ALSO: if you set this for unregistered users, the chat box just shows <>, any chance it can read <unregistered> and not have it linked?

Some help needed here...

I'm having trouble changing the background color in the chatbox, no matter what I do I can't get it to change. I'm no coder but I usually manage to find my way around php and html, I've added the bgcolor tag to every td and table and the best I get is parts of the chatbox changing color:confused:

When I right click in the chatbox to view background image I get taken to my forum's background image:confused:

Ok so I have figured out how to add the chatbox link onto the navbar for vbadvanced (thanks to Brian from vbadvanced)

Add these 2 lines to your "Portal Output Global Variables"
vboptions >> vba cmps >> default settings >> main options >> portal output global variables

template_hook

When using the PM/MP channel, all of the messages that get sent are forced into an all lower-case string. (By the way, what does "MP" stand for...?) If you edit the messages in the PM channel, however, and use upper-case letters, they stay in their upper-cased format.

This hack is great, and I managed to install it quickly and easily, but I'm running into one major problem.

A few of my members have reported a problem after I installed it; the word "idle" appears in the shoutbox when access it. Even if they try typing something, or going to a new page, the text stays there and doesn't go away, meaning they can't read anything.

Help?

So far, three of my members can't load the chatbox for some reason, and I'm not sure why. :( By the way, yes, I allowed the usergroups to see them.
