I'm having a bit of trouble. I installed this fantastic mod, however when I have a user trying to list an item they receive this error message :

Make sure you have filled in all fields!

However all fields were filled in. I tried searching on this error but did not find a resolution.

When my members try to sell something they are getting this message. What do I do to fix this? Is there any possible way to have them just log in and sell. Not have to join any user groups?

I created a usergroup named "Seller" I set all of the options, and joined it, however, I still can't get it to work. Any thoughts??

I had the same problem this is what I done and it fixed it

Login to acp

Go to usergroups click on user group

In the right colum it will show default usergroups

where it says it will have Registerd Users to the right it will say Edit Usergroup(id:1) and so on

Take note of the number ID 1

Then go to Vbay Settings click mmain settings scroll down to Vbay Seller Usergroups then put in the ID no: 1,2,3, and so on

Then save it should work thats what I done

i have installed the Clean Blue Fluid from here
When i set to subscribe a new auction i become this error:
on the line 22 in vbay.php is this: $actiontemplates = array();

Is this a bug in vBay or I must make changes in my template?

Is there going to be an option for the seller to end an auction early or to delete an auction? Also an option to edit the "Domestic - International" shipping would be nice.

Would it be possible to put a field for real names in the top of the adress-option-page? Most of my users go by nickname and not real name.

Since my upgrade I am getting a negative count on my list screen on the main page.

When there are no auctions running in that category, it says there are -4

Yeah, it's ashame... someone doesn't have the odacity to at least come here and update us on status. What's even more mind boggling is that if you look at the last few threads... people coming here and still asking for fixes... DUH! This is one terrible author!

Its still useful to come and ask for help because there may be a member using it with the answer...I've had tons of help that way.

However, it does not seem like this works very well with 3.7 because I have some major issues. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall (which will erase my entire history of bids I think :()--if that doesn't fix it, I'm going to have to let it go.

Aside from the fact that your using audacity in the wrong context there, did you ever consider the possibility that the author doesn't have the time to work on this modification, doesn't have an internet connection anymore, is sick, is dealing with family members that are sick, has lost the life of someone close to them or, God forbid, has passed away themselves?

Have a little perspective. This is superfluous piece of code that neither enhances nor diminishes your life by its support or lack thereof. It's free, which means support was never guaranteed and you knew that going in. There are infinite reasons why a modification can be no longer supported and to criticize the author just because you didn't get an update is where the audacity comes in. Modifications come and go, and support is entirely dependent on how much time an individual has to give it. That means it could change at a moments notice, foreknowledge of which you are not entitled to and you get as a courtesy, not as a right.

If the author decides he just doesn't want to do it, he doesn't have to. That's his or her right. And insinuating people are dumb for asking questions is also audacity, since we here at vb.org support each other, which is why some modifications that where abandoned two to three years ago are still active as members work out bugs amongst themselves. I think you should be a little more careful and considerate as to who you call terrible.

Only thing we would of like added was a bid history, so we can see the 2nd and 3rd highest bidder. Dont suppose any 1 knows if this is possible anyway?.

Ive added vbay to my site, Im running vb3.72. I do not seem to have the code or something to actually process the paypal transactions. When I log in as seller to sell, I clik button for paypal and proceed through the selling posting process. When I buy, it shows item purchased but nothing ever comes on how to to pay for the item. Am I missing a paypal plug in or something? I do not see any payment options admin in my vbadmin.

i was all set to install this but it seems it's not being supported anymore. Pity.

Can some one point me in the direction of how to uninstall with out it crashing my board?

BTW, spend the money and buy vbclassifieds. It has every thing this mod was hoping for plus support

The transaction is seperate from the modification. Basically the "paypal" choice is just a way to say how you are going to pay, it doesn't actually do it.

I tested this Last Night (and just now), Unforuntately - there were several bugs with it.

On my first test auction it only showed 5 words of my description. (2nd test auction showed it all).

1st auction, I had on a buy it now and auction. I used the buy it now and received an email sometime later sying that I had NOT reached the reserve.

bid incriminents still can only be in whole pounds. (I will have a look back through the threads for the (*).

Postage and start prices can only be in whole ponds too (again, I will look through the threads for the "*").

In fact - I tried the postage at ?4.95 and it showed as ?4. etc

The Payment method symbol does not show (I know that has been mentioned in the thread) it only shows as a white box with a red "X" centered within it.

I am only able to to add one picture, even though it says a maximum of 3. (there is a browse button there that allows only 1 Pic).

(I have entered the HMTL to actually enter a pic manually to the description area - but I can't expect my forum members to do that).

IMPORTANTLY - I set this so that admins and superadmins can use it for test purposes. I signed in as my normal (registered group) ID - And I had the welcome greeting message and was able to register. Why is this please? I have triple checked that my settings are correct - and they are.

On my second test on a BUY IT NOW ONLY - The sale went through. I, as a buyer I received the SELLERS address in an email.

As the seller I received the BUYERS address in an email. (why is the sellers address still going through please? There is no need to send the sellers' address, unless the buyer is paying by Cheque (Or "check", for my American friends).

I think this mod is great and so is Blaine for working so hard on it. Thnak You Blaine. May I trouble you to look into the above bugs Please?

I still can't find the threads that I need to explain where and what, I add the "*"'s to, to enable smaller incriments for bidding. I also want it to sort out the bug where I enter for example:

starting bid £19.99 (and for it to show as this price and Not £19).

Postage: £4.99 (not show as £4).

What I was hoping for as well, it the ability to select more than one method of payment.

If the item were to be sent by post, then Paypal or cheque would be acceptable. If it was a collection in person, then cash would be acceptable.


Any help on the above bugs of mine please Gentlemen~? (Ladies?).

I have just looked again and still can't find how I can do the increments from £! to 0.25 etc.

Auction is still on my test site. When the buy it now is used - the buyer receives an email to say that that he was the highest bidder but did not reach the reserve price.

What I would love to see included in the emails is the final price that the auction went for.

I would also like to see a record of closed auctions as I can't find any at present. That combined with no end information after an auction has ended, leaves me with no way of knowing how much the aution went for.

Can you fix these Please?

I forgot to add that I have sorted the Pics problem out.

It didn't work via images/vbay/paypal.gif

so i removed the vbay out of that and all other ones and that side of it works perfectly.

(Yes - I did upload them correctly). :)

I have sorted out the pics by doing the above to the .js links in the templates and that works a treat too.

I have noticed that there is no facility for entering a "Name" on registration - can that be added too Blaine? thanks.

I can't for the life of me, find where that post is that explains what and where to adjust - to allow smaller bid increments.

Just an idea on the decimal points problem. I haven't installed this mod yet, but it sounds like the SQL Table that is created for the mod is not storing the numbers as Float data types. It's probably Integer type (Which gets rounded down to the nearest whole number). Fixing that problem may be as simple as changing the data type on the column in the Table that stores the values from Integer to Decimal or Float.

Ive tried this hack, but i have to say that like it is right now, it is totally unusable for a working classifieds forum.
It lacks a bunch of things (like for example the possiblity to add photos after have posted the auction) etc.
Is there a new version more completed and usable coming soon? thanks

I have removed the "Auction & Buy It Now" option and have no more problems with that respect.

What I think, in total - that would set this off is:

1. Personalised PM, maybe with the use of "$Hello $user_username". (both Buyer & Seller)
2. The PM to the seller would include the username of the buyer and the end price of auction.
3. The ability for the seller - Up until 24 hours or unless a bid has been placed - to be able to edit his listing.
4. A facility for the high (maybe all) bidder/s to be shown on the listing after the listing has ended. (both Auction and Buy It Now formats).
5. The main one is the ability to to be able to bid what they like (0.01 or 0.10 pence (Cents) etc.
6. The ability to view the listing/s after the auction is closed.

Mr Blaine - I think you have done a fantastic job at what you have achieved so far and I know it may have been a rollercoster ride for you. Not once have you given up on the people, even though you put this out as a freebie.

I really hope that you are able to and have the time to perhaps do some, if not all of the extras that I have added above. I am Unable to put this "Live" on my forum until there is a little more improvement on it.

AND, I tell you something... There is an above average donation waiting to make it's way to you too. :)

I did a listing too, of the things that are missing (a bunch to put it on a live forum like said welshy) but it was 1 month ago,

The most important thing missing are:

1) the fact that once you chose to don't upload photos when you post your classifieds, than there is no way if you changed your mind, to upload photos (the number you want)

2) there is "paypal" "cash" and "other" in payment option. It would be better to have directly the option "paycheck" and "bank transfer" + other like usual. and it would be more normal to have the possibility to chose that a buyer can pay via paypal or cash or paycheck or bank transfer or other if necessary, because give to a buyer the possibility to pay only via one method is a bit restrictive, and a seller might want to give different payment options at the same time, and let buyer chose how he pays then

3) rethink the look of the classifieds one they are online (not very "pro")

4) same thing as 1,2,3,4,6 of Welshy2008

5) a thumbnail photo front of each classifieds, that appears in classifieds listings in each category

6) in classifieds listing, 1/2 clkassified as more clear background

7) all interesting options that can be taken from ebay (without taking those which don't have real utility)

And if there is a usable realease, i'll make a donation too.
