Try removing the template edits from the postbits and you may find it works. I found that was the only problem I had with a skin I installed.

I wish I'd read this earlier. Today I printed out every template that is used by Pager for both my default style and new style and reviewed each one Line by Line.

In my default style I never changed the Postbit_Legacy but did change the Postbit template. I copied the new code in the Postbit template, but I must have deleted some of the information which was above.

I corrected this and it's working....

im running vb 3.6.x I cannot find the permissions you say so people can use it... how can I set them can you show me which permissions you talk about?

I'm having this same problem. I'm using the default template on 3.6.5 and everything is uploaded and all templates have been modified correctly.

What happens is when I go to a users profile and click "Send a pager message to *user*" a window pops up with who's online and then another window with a page overlays that. The main problem though is that as soon as I type a letter it immediately dissapears, no matter how much I type. If I try to hit the page button I get an error telling me that my message is too short (because all of my text dissapeared). This is my only obstacle right now and I'd like to know how to get over it. Thanks!

If i remember correctly that's being caused by having a limit on the total character of that message. Probably it's set to zero right now.

Just curios, I created a new style for my site and copied all the templeates over and when Iused vb pager the messages only would go to old style...then I deleted old style and now vpager doesnt seem to want to work at all...is there anything in the code that dictates which style it goes to???

Make sure you made all the edits to each style (or at least the parent style).

I did, but what happens is on the new style you can write a pager message and the other user gets an alert that they have a new pager message but it doesnt show up..i have to reactivate the old style so they can see them...

Are you editing a parent style or each style one by one?

I had this same issue and the problem was that my child styles had custom footers, so they weren't inheriting the edits.

Go to your vbseocp.php

find the section that says "Exclude Pages?"

Add this:

pager.php

It is a good idea to add all of your pages that vbseo does not rewrite links on to this section to save some unwanted queries.

To avoid malfunctions of the pager system it is recommended to use no html in phrases. This was causing an error on my pager system.

I've been using this awesome hack for a few weeks without issue....until today

Someone pm'd me saying they couldn't page me, because I'd turned it off
So I checked, I can't send any, as it says I've turned paging off
So I checked my profile and the Use VBPager option is turned off? I tick it, save changes, but it won't save

I am hoping someone may be able to help. Ive installed this on my forum, however members are unable to send pager messages.

The hack is turned on, and all usergroups have permissions set. When you click on the "Send XXX a pager message" - it only brings up a list of users. There is no box to write a message.

Im running 3.6.7

Ive just uninstalled and re-installed and still getting the same problem. Everything is in place, only problem is when you click on the pager icon or click "send xxx a pager message" it just comes up with a box showing who is online. No where to type the message.

i installed it fine. messages can be sent, but the they cant re read. i have 3 unread in my inbox but nothing pops up to display them, and when i click on the vbpager link, it says i have no messages in my inbox

Try rebuilding your bitfields if you just installed it

A member paged me but it showed up as unregistered however i have the usergroup setting set to unregistered users NOT being allowed to page... any ideas how to fix this?

Silly question:

Where do you upload the "upload" file? Do you upload the files inside individually to each section (i.e., admincp to admincp and so forth) or do you upload the entire upload file?

This is because the registered user has send the pager message after the system had disconnected him. This was not from an unregsitered user.

How can I get the pager icon to show up in the who's online list under the instant messaging options?
