Ok, if anyone has figured this next question of mine out, then please share.
I installed all the code correctly. I edited the usergroups, and allowed only the "Admins" to have their HTML parsed (by setting it from the Usergroup Manager). I then made a dedicated Video section: http://www.christianlinks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=74 I then made a post as an Admin and placed this code in there which resulted in an embedded Windows Media Player that should link to a video: Quote:
It will not play at all, when you press the play button. The videos are there, and are located off of the root: /public_html/video/storage I updated my counters, and rebuilt my post cache. Nothing at all. Does anyone know why this is, or has anyone here figured it out. I would not be surprised if others are using the windows media player embedded with this script. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Anyone?

I've noticed that clicking "Edit" from the vBadvanced News Module somehow bypasses the problems everyone is having with this hack and the HTML disappearing when trying to Edit with WYSIWYG in vB 3.6. If I go to the actual News forum however and click "Edit" the HTML still disappears
So, for all the people making excuses and saying that it is vBulletin's fault are wrong, wrong, wrong. If it were vBulletin's fault it would happen every single time you try to edit the post, but I've somehow found a way of "bypassing" it. So devs/coders, please, please, PLEASE figure out how it works just fine when clicking "Edit" from the News module, but not the thread. If you figure it out then you might get it to actually work with 3.6.4. I realize I can disable WYSIWYG, but I'm not going to sacrifice that. Edit: Oh, and ironically, AnyMedia doesn't work in the News Module, but this HTML hack does, so I have to use two different mods to post videos in threads. |
Very useful, thanks Kall.

Well I decided to give this a try since I to post html for swf files among other things since I have a music community but do not allow other's to post html.
I've found it does work on vb 3.6.4 and with my test account I am still able to use the [ html]www.url.com[ /html] for members with out allowing them the access to being able to post html within the posts. Great mod if I do happen to find any issues with it then I will post that as well but for now,. it seems to be working as stated. |
Does not parse HTML on vbportal , uninstalled

I don't think this is working for me on 3.6.4. People who are in the HTML group can post HTML content, but not everyone can see it - only other people in the HTML group.

It works for me on both 3.6.4 and 3.6.5.

This mod died on me after I upgraded to version 3.6.5. I got it to work again affter several attempts. What works for me is to uninstall the mods, reinstall it, and the posts with unparsed codes edited manually, i.e. hit Edit and Save Changes.
