We are testing it out at www.policewives.org
2 of the testers, both using storm 1, verizon & OS 5.0 are receiving the error:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Expecting an element

when clicking on specific forums

footose 01-06-2010 02:35 AM

scan-pa: this error was brought to my attention on another thread. I have been workign to fix it. It's just a data error in thread information in one of the functions I created. I should have it fixed in the next release.

honie: this error looks like its because your forums are marked as private. I will also have this fixed in the next release. This was due to my recent "security" fix, I had to block the viewing of private forums, but I haven't handled this "blocking" on BerryBlab yet, so you get an error regarding not being able to view the forum.

You user will have to be logged in and the error will likely correct itself.

Other Stuff:

I'm excited about this upcoming release. I have implemented several requested improvements, but it will be a few days before I release both the storm and keyboard versions. I need to test a few more things, the next update includes:

- "Friendly" Error Messages
- Connection Fix - check if the user has been logged out by the system and retry the login
- Notify the user they are not logged in on the main screen, added a button to allow them to login
- Separated forum options and login options
- Added Security Features

I will likely release this as "BerryBlab 1.0".

Forum Owners:

Please remember to sign up on http://www.BerryBlab.com and add your forum to our database. This will be the only way I can "prove" that you have helped with this Beta Test so that I can send you this software for free for your Beta Testing troubles. This is also one of the best ways to keep in touch with the latest updates and events happening at BerryBlab.

ALSO

I know there have been a few emails from people regarding their site not working with berryblab and I haven't gotten back to them yet - it's been hectic (this isn't my full time job) and I'm hoping the next release fixes your issues.

vipe 01-06-2010 03:03 AM

I'm looking forward to the next release but will it address the problem of adding my site to the forum network at berryblab.com?

footose 01-06-2010 03:09 AM

vipe: sorry , I can't remember what your issue was again, what was your URL?

footose 01-06-2010 03:15 AM

vipe: the issue with your site is as follows:

Goto your m_functions directory

Open "Utilities.php"

On line 133 you will see:

foreach ($users_array['cc'] as &$theuser)

Replace it with the following:

foreach ($users_array['cc'] as $theuser)

This should fix all of the above issues you've had.

Many thanks for the quick response!

hi,

i'm working to fix all the application to support Arabic langauge, once I finish i'll inform you Footose

Note: I Registed in your site, but when I tried to add forum I got an error said

Quote:

There was an error adding your site to our database.

Common errors:

- You may not have the latest version of BerryBlab installed - latest version: 0.10
- The URL you entered is incorrect - Make sure you enter the full URL to your FORUM with trailing backslash. ex: http://forums.GenerationDUB.com/
- BerryBlab plugin is not insatlled

I have the latest version, my URL correct and I have BerryBlab installed in VB directory !!

Thank you

Great stuff.

I have changed how the "encoding" works for the next version, it seems I hard coded the encoding type on the XML which is probably why it wasn't supporting the language options.

footose 01-06-2010 04:46 AM

Let me take a quick look..

footose 01-06-2010 04:53 AM

Log on: i was able to add your forum to the network by typing this exactly:

http://www.aoubh.com/vb/

Please try it again...

Is it possible you were adding Arabic to the descriptions? Again, I haven't tested BerryBlab.com with Arabic, so if you can add it with English for now and i'll see about getting the support in there for other languages.
