I've had notifications that I'm using another member's IP address who is on a completely different ISP thousands of miles away. I don't even know the member, let alone share his computer.

There is something a little off about this mod, but I've never been able to figure out a pattern. I seems to work for most cases, so I've left it running, even with these anomalies.

Badger

Hi, I had the same thing for the ip address. What I did was create an id just for this. I call mine Boilerwatcher. Then you don't get the ip addresses tagged on to your id.

Work pretty good for me.

One of the best hacks ever!

Much obliged to the designer.

I put in my Usergroup ID (6) and I get the notification from some random member.

What's causing this and how do I fix?

:)

Anyone?

I'm having the same problem. I'm using this mod already a year. But the mod isn't updated from september 2006. Shouldn't it be better to have a look at the code please, MPDev?

Many thanks,
Kris

I have that happen but it seems to be related to when I had my user ID be the one that created the thread to alert the mods on my site that a dup account was detected. The mod creates that post with the IP of the user it is detecting. So I changed the user attached to the post reports to a dummy account and it stopped the IPs from showing up in my profile but they go to the other account instead. It would probably solve the problem if we could specify an IP for the report threads to be created with.

Yes that's exactly it. It threw me off at first too, I even posted about it on the main vBulletin support forum because I was afraid I was being hacked by all these random people.
