This plugin is really awesome, we've been using it for a year and everything worked like a charm.

I have a doubt about its future development, is planned some kind of dinstinction in the shout box between normal users and moderators? I mean something like a different color for moderator's nick.

If you want to use newer version get 'Inferno vBShout', but be aware that it will cost you some money...

for some reason when I put in symbols like "" and <> it gives me weird words instead

There are mods around vb.org that state they can show on every page (wouldn't recommend it)
