Has anyone ever figure out the "Loading" problem with the chatbox? Everything I log in, the only way I can get it to work is log in as Admin. I have other normal members complaining about the same problem.
I have already reload the chatbox again thinking a new install would cure it.... It doesn't....

When i try to remove a group from the admin list you can see on the forum i get this error.

Now my only problem is i dont know if this chatbox causing this problem. If installed a other chatbox a few weeks ago but uninstalled it because i dont like it.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. What I'm trying to find is what is the final answer to solve the "Loading" problem that people were having. When logging in, the chatbox will continually say "Loading". I tried everything listed in these threads, but can't seem to find the answer.

I installed EVO first, then found this one, installed it but was no where near as good as the EVO one.

In installing this, first on a sandboxed version of our forum, I have been able to sucessfully install the product.
However, in trying to enable to moderation capability, I do not see the Ban User, etc sections in the Chat Archive drop down. I've included the relevant groups who can mod in the list of who can mod area in the Chat setup
Also, when I do a test with a test member, and then place that member in the banned list of chatters, he is still able to post in the chat.
Any ideas what may need to be done? Using, vB 3.7.4.

does this mod work for 3.8.5 cause the other version for 3.8 is the same and it does not work its just keeps saying loading?

This is what I found with the 3.8.x version....
Goto Style Manager>your style> edit templates> double click on Cybernetec-templates
Edit the templates and before all misc.php? add the words $vboptions[bburl]/ so your will go from:
misc.php
to $
vboptions[bburl]/misc.php?

Working perfectly on 3.8.5. Actually, never had a problem with it. Strange!

Does anyone else notice the chatbox archive attracting a very large number of bots?

I'm not sure what causes it, but I often have thousands of bots viewing my chatbox archive. Yesterday it was more than 7,000 showing up in the 'currently active users' section, which I have set to the default vB timeout of 15 minutes. I don't even know if they are all bots to tell you the truth.

The IPs are all over the place, from many different networks, and are scattered all over the world. Some IPs are for actual websites... so I imagine either the website or their servers are connecting/scanning my chatbox archive for some odd reason. Other IPs appear to be for legitimate ISP customers and still others I did notice appear to be spiders (but most that I checked did were not spiders).

The suspect IPs do not appear to be loading javascript since my javascript stats tracker doesn't report them in the visitor totals. I figure this means that they are all bots/spiders of some sort that do not read/load javascript.

This isn't a new thing, either. It's been going on for quite some time. Yesterday it got to the point of slowing down my server due to the 7000+ bots (of whatever) that were concurrently connected based on the vB 900 second timeout.

I just cleared my chatbox archive and will be seeing about locking it down so that only members can view it.

Anyhow, just wanted to see if other people using this mod are having similar issues...

has anyone figured out a way to change the name of the chatbox?

I noticed a problem with this.

Users can delete their posts in the CB even with the option for them to not be able to turned off.

They go into the archive and edit their post by putting 3 spaces and hitting enter before hitting done.. and it will delete their post.

Is there some way to fix this.. or an option where I can turn off regular members from editing in the archive? etc?

I have issue, that about 1/2 of users have a problem with "Loading".

Chatbox is only on main page of forum (index). I tried to do these fixes:

2 Things:

1. It won't parse font color codes. IE If you change your font colour, the only thing you see is the bbcode for the colour, not the actual colour.

2. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to put this in a specific forum. In dumbed down terms please and thank you.

Question: How does one UNban a user?

I know to ban them I can just go to Chatbox Archive, select their name, drop down menu > ban.

But eventually that person's name is going to scroll back hundreds of pages.

So how do I unban them in the future?

Can you picture for this expression?

Excellent plugin. Working great. The only problems is when you have the Advanced BBCode Permissions plugin installed, ChatBox wont allow custom text formatting and will show the code instead of displaying the text format and color.

I think some people have posted this issue here before but I haven't found a solution except to disable the Advanced BBCode Permissions plugin.
