the only thing i can think of is that the way 3.7x handles options/settings are different... ?

tekguru 08-15-2008 07:29 AM

Thie definitely needs tying back with the revised version that has been produced so there is only one version of this Mod around!

as I have said, im going to fully revise the code and iron out all the bugs as I can. I need to optimize the code also.

lets see what the weekend brings....

C Braithwaite 08-16-2008 09:45 AM

ive been up since about 4am working on this - almost 8 hours later im done. very tired, but done.

Fraik 08-16-2008 11:31 AM

Same here. Thanks a lot for the work anyway ;).

C Braithwaite 08-16-2008 12:10 PM

Maybe you need to uninstall the old one and then install the new one?

And the option group is "Reminder Emails"

Fraik 08-16-2008 12:48 PM

I did that exactly, and I dont see the options,

OnyxChase 08-16-2008 12:52 PM

Thanks for your work C Braithwaite! I will keep an eye out until you say the 1.2 version is fully tested and bug free. :)

Any upgrade instructions?

C Braithwaite 08-16-2008 01:05 PM

most unusual that you can't find the settings. ill double check things when I get home...

hopefully i've coded a bug free version first time..

CPB123 08-16-2008 01:07 PM

I'm actually using 1.0.9 on 3.7.2 pl 1 and it works great. However I installed it while I was using 3.6.x so this may be why it works.

What are the advantages of 1.2 over 1.0.9? Does 1.2 have a daily report? Currently I have to check my scheduled task log for "Inactive User Reminder Emails" entries to see who messages were sent to.

Charlie98902 08-16-2008 01:22 PM

So, do we just remove the old files and use the plug in now?

The main thing is that it should work with the most recent version of vbulletin.
It's been coded from scratch and designed to be more efficient - it uses the vbulletin mailqueue system and can send HTML emails also. The emails are more evenly distributed to ensure maximum speed. I am going to create a report system next which will show which members that have been contacted, how many times, and what %age of people actually return.

Yes, That would be best. I should have mentioned that.

Are there any reports of working code as of yet? or bugs maybe?

Excellent, looking forward to this. In the meantime I'll stick with 1.0.9 since its working well and I don't need HTML e-mails sent, plaintext is fine with me since I've already formatted a custom message for my inactive users.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Just that,

personally I think it needs to be addressed with a readme file or a greater font in the mod description.

Any solution in that case?

Charlie98902 08-16-2008 05:09 PM

How will one configure the email sent? I seen the message header but no body to it? Or do we leave the remindermail.php intact?

there should be a settings in the options, but for some reason when i exported the product it for some reason only exported the phrases... not quite sure why. im just working on re-building the settings.

Do we need to edit this accordingly?

Charlie98902 08-16-2008 10:40 PM

It's OK I don't really need it but was just a want for future things. Good job though on making just a plugin.

Hi CBraithwaite,

Just imported the new 2.1 xml plugin and all seems to be well, however I have noticed whenever I tick the usergroup boxes ie. "Which usergroups do you want to monitor for inactivity?" and then submit, it goes through successfully - but then all boxes become unticked again after it returns to the options?

Not sure if this is a bug or not :D

Also how does this run, is it by scheduled task? I can't seem to find an entry in there for this plugin, tis all

Thanks in advance for your help :)

it is a slight bug, however its not a real issue - the settings do get saved, but it doesnt load them up again properly! i have fixed it, but it didnt seem worth it to upload and notify just for that. it will be in next update.

it uses init_startup to process.

what is the error? if you are having problems removing the plugin due to the error, delete the pluginlist entry from the datastore table directly from your databse.

it uses the $vbulletin->options['webmasteremail']; setting, and is sent using the vbulletin built in mail queue setting - do you the same issue when you send other emails? is it likely that you did not specify an email address on your vbulletin install?

Ok thanks for that information :)

So how do I check what members it has emailed reminders to, and that they have all gone out successfully? Ie. A log of all activity by this plugin? Generally this is done by the scheduled task log if its a timed task, but obviously its not the case this time round :)

Thanks in advance.

Thank you CBraithwaite for this plugin

I'm running version 1.1.1 on vB 3.7.2PL1 and it's working fine.

I see that some other members are having errors with your later updates...?

I think I'm just going to stay put. I don't want it to break.
