Exactly. The hack is a great idea, but if the aforementioned function does not work, it becomes a big hinderance. I have a specific example on this forum.
- I posted a code request.
- A coder provided a response.
- I replied with "Thanks, I'll give it a try."
- I had a problem with the code and responded, but it simply editted the previous post.
As far as I know, no thread update was sent as if there was a new post, and the thread was not bumped. It seems the timeframe here is set really long as well, because responding today did the same thing. The hack is definitely a great idea and much needed but those need to be fixed.
Also, the function needs to be disabled as soon as someone posts after you so as to not have your response post in the previous post to their question (I'm not sure if this is even the case, but just thought it should be mentioned).
