My problem is that while i have about 20 new members per day, they all just play in the arcade, and my webalizer shows almost everyone enters directly to the arcade, never even seeing the forums.

is there a way to make the latest threads visible on the arcade home, or ANY other idea for people in the arcade to see some aspect of the forums?

That would take some hacking. I like John's creation so much just the way it is, I don't have the heart to hack it up.

People are people. If they aren't interested in the Forums and just the games, it's almost impossible to make them. That's why I have a separate group with the 10 post minimum.

That is why I've given the privilege to members with a min of 300 posts. Even then, they HAVE to be reviewed by the staff to be able to enter the new usergroup. ;)

ENORMOUS BUG IN V3 ARCADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scores in challeneges MEAN nothing! When someone gets a top score from a challenge and its set on use challenge scores for the Record table.. It will NOT use that as your HIGH SCORE! If someone beats teh SECOND place score, in all of their posts and in the arcade statistics will say they are the champ BUT in the arcade it will still say I have it but I wont get credit. Now click play game. You wont see my top score. This happened the other day as well, someone beat my SECOND PLACE top score and THEY got the TROPHY but i was STILL listed as 1st place in the table. Even the icons go to the person in second place.

This is a big problem for people who will have a first place score and people constantly change positions in 2nd place.

Just my little view regarding users just using the arcade section of forums and nothing else.

I know for some it may be a problem when all your bandwidth is being gobled up by people who don't use your forum for anything else, but surely having more bodies on your forum in the first places is going to encourage more users, which in turn will gradually get you more people posting anyway. Nobody likes to see a forum with no users on it.

The way I look at it is, that at least they are on my website, no matter what they are doing, at least I have them, when they could quite easily be somewhere else (there's enough choices out there). My CPM banners take care of the cost of bandwidth with them, so I don't see it as a problem. If someone doesn't want to write posts in the first place, forcing them to do so in order for them to get to the only thing they want, is only going to get more useless spam posts on the forum in my opinion just so they can reach the required amout. At the end of the day, the arcade is only going to hold so much interest for any user, after that they are more than likely going to explore a website they've been using for a while anyway, but if you've restricted them, the chances are they may just leave and never come back, because they are likely to think there will be more restrictions like that and that it's not worth it.

Anyway, just my view on it, which may not even be valid for certain other website set ups.

John, is there a way to add Arcade status in forumhome like. total games, newest champions( choose how much to display in ACP) , Best scorce of all games ( in which games ),avatar of the newest champion and a link to challenge him in that game....
this would call more users to play Arcade ^ ^

I'm new to vBulletin and v3 Arcade. I installed Candidate Release 3 (the only one offered when I registered). Anyway the first thing I did was install v3 arcade. Everything went well and I was like the preverbial pig in **** on my work PC (Win 2000 and Explorer 5).

People were mentioning that they couldn't get to the arcade as they were'nt a registered member. This seemed to be like the problem posted earlier by Cheeky however the file you suggested to correct (global.php) was already OK.

This problem seems to be a third party cookie issue (someone told me that, I don't know)

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it a vBulletin thing? Is it just a general problem that users would have to set a very low privacy rating on their browser?

Have you tried the obvious?

1. Making sure the forum permissions are set correct for the relevent user groups in your admin cp?
2. The actual arcade settings?

veiled, all walk very well except only one thing, when a person refuses a Challenge, instead of having the normal redirection, that opens a white page to me, I have to look in the file "arcade.php" what not to go not, I do not have anything to find. :(

Just a quick suggestion:

When you're playing a game and click on "high scores," I think it should open in a new window by default. I've had a couple of people playing games, then clicking to see what the second place score is, only to be kicked out of the game.

has anyone else had memebers complain that sometimes they cannot submit comments?

I have 3 styles in my board but the arcade only work in the default style.
I have changed the template postbit & navbar in all styles, what is the problem?

I am having some issues with Joust, the most addictive game out of them all! I have found some major bugs that make my IE crash and get stuck and whatnot. Like in Level 3 when the floor goes if you fall you dont die just fall forever and ever into a vast emptiness. Also at the very top if you get goin fast enough you can pass through the top barrier and get stuck. As well if you die in between the 2 sides you get stuck and are forced to restart game. I am not sure if any of these matters have been brought up before or not just tryin to help. I love that game so much I used to have it on Atari and owned at it. Just dont want a clasic to suck so much!

You probably hafta munually add arcade templates for those skins, fairly easy. that's what i did for mah board.

If you check the actual records list my TOP SCORE does appear but in the game play screen my top score is my SECOND PLACE score. My settings are correct and they are check to allow CHALLENGE SCORE to be used in the standings. Next time please visit the page instead of creating a semi-mock post. THANKS!....

Also, there is a bug in which not all challenegs are displayed in the ARCADE CHALLENGE screen. The user gets PM about the outcome but the actual page doesnt display it.

Please note the GAMES TABLE contains the second place score. If some beats that score they will get the trophy. But i will still be listed in FIRST PLACE. UNDERSTAND NOW?!? Good.

I had something similiar occur on my site in the Penguin Game.. I had the high score first.. Then someone matched my high score and became #1 instead of it keeping me up there in the first spot. :)

UPDATED the DHTML menu addon to have the option of a limited number of items in the menu, sorted by popularity (number of times played).

I ran into an issue with tied champions where the trophy would get shared around in posts (I have a 4 way tie on Penguin Bashing). One day the original champion would have the trophy then on another someone else would. The stats in the actual arcade don't change of course.

New install, installed fine, copied the tutorial in every way. But I have no permission to access the actual game when I try to play it. HELP! :P

I have checked and Arcade is open, and registered users and moderators have access to Arcade. Anything else I can check? Thanks

I see other people had problems with thier postbit. Did anyone ever find a fix. Nothing shows in my postbit and I've edited the postbit template correctly. Is this something that could have been effected by a file edit?

Are you using the default vB3 postbit layout, and if not, did you edit the postbit_legacy template?

I use the default. All of my postbit templates are edited with the proper code, but I still see nothing. Do I need to have awards enabled in order to see the challenge options?

for starts if you look at the first error its telling you that the database table its trying to call is not there that being 'conso46_vbulletin.games' so check your database settings are pointing to right database with the right login info, if you feel they are doing so login to your database useing phpmyadmin if you have it and check that the table is infact in the database with that name.
