Hey xeagle :D

It appears as if there is external content in vbsso_shared.php on line 90, Google UA code etc - when you have time please update and mark mod as using External Content - Thanks!

We had a report that in ulpoad/vbsso/includes/vbsso_shared.php at line 90 might be requiring external content. Please check, and if true, edit the mod settings and enable the "External Content" flag.

If it isn't external content, please confirm here.

Thank you for your attention to this.

Since the developer has not responded in several weeks I have manually enabled the external data flag. If the developer would like to remove the flag, please provide an explanation for the line I provided in the post above.

Thank You.

So this could essentially link 2 vbulletin forums together so that a member purchasing a paid subscription would have access to both forums correct?

Yes, vBSSO allows to link 2 vBulletin forums together and after that the members will have acess to both.

Do we keep separate Databases for Wordpress and vBulletin installs to make this plugin work or there are some tweaks required in Database also? Using MySQL on cpanel.

Great plug-in! We are having one issue, we are having to refresh the page to show that we are logged in. Both in Vbulletin and WordPress. Is anyone else having these issues?

Hi,

I've recently been having a problem with vbsso, using vBulletin and Wordpress. Basically people are getting stuck in loops. If you load up the homepage, which is Wordpress you're logged out, so you click login and it takes you to the forum as it should where you're already logged in so it doesn't try to log you in to WP. This means people can't login to WP at all as VB thinks you're already logged in.

Weirdly I found that going to the dashboard by manually typing the url forces another login through vBulletin. Equally so does going into the admincp on the forum. But that's not an option for my members as they're not admins.

If you've got any ideas, I would be grateful for the help,

Thanks

I've sent 4 requests on there using two different email addresses over the last 4 days. I don't get a confirmation email or anything so I don't know if they are getting through or not.

I have a question about your software. I have members who have registered on both my joomla and vbulletin platforms. When I had Joomla 2.5 I used another bridge and it duplicated these users across platforms. Since then lots of people have created new userids on VBulletin and Joomla. But I only have member input on VBulletin. Should I just delete all my Joomla users (except admins) before installing you product? Hope this is not confusing.
Thank you.

Thank you.

It is not mandatory to delete users before installing the vBSSO product. But note, please, vBSSO works only for registered user on both - MASTER and SLAVE platforms (in your case, JOOMLA and VB).

Thank you very much for your reply.

How does your SSO handle duplicate userids? For example, if someone logs in through the SSO using their VBulletin username and the exact same username already exists in Joomla, but it is not them, does the SSO MASTER sync the Joomla password to match with the Vbulletin username's password so there is just one userid across both platforms or does the SSO just ignore the existing Joomla userid and create a new Joomla userid with the same name using the VBulletin password?

Yes, the vBSSO ignores the existing Joomla user id; when you press the Joomla registration link it redirects you to vBulletin and creates an account there. Then vBSSO passes the user data to Joomla after that the user will be created there accordingly.

i am unable to update the server as it breaks the link...

TIA.

Our team is planning to provide support for PHP 5.6 in 2017.
We hope this has not caused you any inconvenience.

Thank you,

Great. Sooner would of course be better. You probably should work on php 7 directly, as that is the active version now.

You have made a great mod, want it to remain relevant.

As always, thank you for choosing vBSSO.

BTW, the current version (Mediawiki connector 1.0.2) does work with mediawiki release 1.28 (still on php5.5 though).

The only issue to fix then is to make it php7 compliant (VB4.2.5 should be out soon, and it supports php7).

Thank you,

Hopefully whatever you come up with will be backward compatible for PHP. We're on an older version of PHP 5.x because of our Linux hosting at Godaddy. That won't change until very end of 2017 when we can finally move to Windows Cpanel.

Meanwhile, a fix would be super awesome for the httpS issue we have. We had to add SSL to our site at end of December 2016 changing us to httpS links. vBSSO connection between vBulletin and Wordpress still http without S. No fix. Some users have been persistent and patient enough to clear temporary files, reset cookies, create new links, and obtain times change browsers to get it to work again but others have not had that same patience or luck and are unable to access links in Wordpress.

Xeagle: Just found out that VB4.2.5 will require at least PHP5.6 . It is currently in beta, should be out soon. The plugins definitely need to be updated soon. Thx!

Not relevant. Reply back to ticket #3799 on 1/11 was that was on your internal tracker system to do a review and hopefully a fix in the next release.

URL of the Platform Address in vBulletin is httpS. I'm near certain the problem is that URL of Platform Address in Wordpress side is http, missing the S. Disabling and reconnecting the plugin didn't fix it.

Thanks xeagle. Would the mediawiki add-on also work with PHP 7, or is an update coming?

Thanks
