Great work!
Thank you!

UKDarkstar 01-09-2010 04:12 PM

Installed and working but 2 small issues :

1) flag icons not showing on our vBadvanced CMPS homepage (uses v 3.2.1)

2) we use the MGC Evo Chatbox - any way of getting the text in that translated too ?

Can be viewed at www.sawb.co.uk

Great mod ! :)

Hello, can somebody can help me with nginx rewrite code with vbseo ?

NLP-er 01-17-2010 06:30 PM

Quick announcement:

Please note that last days I was preparing paid version of vBET for new release 3.3.0 (with lot of performance improvements: vBET 3.3.0 change log).

That is why I didn't response here lately - I will response all waiting posts tomorrow or the day after tomorrow :)

Bill_McRea 01-19-2010 04:18 PM

How can I manually uninstall this since I upgraded to 4.0.1

I deleted several of the files to no resolution

http://www.cbtrainingforum.com/

This is the site. Any help would be appreciated

final kaoss 01-19-2010 05:56 PM

Title id not getting translation. I've tested and the title id text that appears whenever you hover your mouse on a thread title on a forum the title id isn't getting displayed. (the title id that I'm talking about is similar to alt tags that appear for images if you hover over them)

Also is this thing compatable with vb optimize?

I really would like to, but I do not know it. Maybe if you write here original vbseo rules for nginx I will be able to give you some proposition (not tested).

one more thing, I noticed support for nearly every seo plugin but you left out yabbseo... what can we use to get it compatable with that?

Thats what I was going to do but it would not let me log into Admin so I need to do this via the file manager :(

I will install the 4.0 version, but things are mucked up right now

What didn't let you go there? If you have issues with plugins - disable those globally. Goggle it - you just have to ad one line in config.php

Erica1977 01-21-2010 11:24 PM

Hi i installed this and it looks correct on main forum but when i click on one of the flag icons it translates but shows this way to the top
Code:

Warning: set_time_limit() [function.set-time-limit]: Cannot set time limit in safe mode in [path]/includes/vbenterprisetranslator_functions.php  on line 148
have any idea why it does that error up there even thought it will translate but has that error on top of main page of forum i'm using 3.8.4 patch 2 thanks.

Erica1977 01-21-2010 11:30 PM

Here's a picture of what i'm talking about. the first picture is how it ends up after hitting the flag the second picture is how it loads first getting that error and white page then it ends up showing like the first picture after loading.

MikeF 01-21-2010 11:37 PM

It's incompatible with vBadvanced :/

mandingo 01-21-2010 11:40 PM

As you see in error message it is not turned off. Please read PHP manual - maybe it can be set in PHP code - in such case it appears that some mod is turning it on. Find out which one and disable or go to mod author with this issue.

Safe mode is deprecated - shouldn't be used and it is even eliminated in PHP 6.

Hi, I installed this product on my 3M+ posts forum and although it works good, the speed of the translated pages is just slow.

I don't know how the cache system you developed works but it doesn't seems to be working. I mean, I see some data stored on the three tables created by this product but even if I reload an already translated page, it takes almost 20 second for the forum index and almost a minute for a thread page. Is this a normal behavior? What can I do to improve loading times? It's just not usable that way.

asabet 01-30-2010 01:08 PM

Terrific mod! I would love to install this so that it shows below the Navbar for unregistered guests and below the footer for logged in members.

No it is not normal. Something is really wrong in your case. Please PM me your forum URL and access details to FTP and Admin CP.

So just use custom place for flags and add it in booth templates inside of if block checking in condition does user is logged in :)

Sorry, I`m a littlebit confused and I do not know .htaccess commands, so I ask.

I want to use the vbseo_sitemap addon (without VBSEO) which is located HERE.

As you might know, this addon also uses a .htaccess entry.
Now here is my question:

Can I just add the lines from this addon directly under your code in the .htaccess file ?

Lines in vbseo_sitemap .htaccess:
Code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

So would this be ok ?

.htaccess
Code:

#rules for SEO translation links without vbSEO

RewriteEngine On

RewriteRule ^/?(af|sq|ar|be|bg|ca|zh-CN|hr|cs|da|nl|en|et|tl|fi|fr|gl|de|el|iw|hi|hu|is|id|ga|it|ja|ko|lv|lt|mk|ms|mt|no|fa|pl|pt|ro|ru|sr|sk|sl|es|sw|sv|zh-TW|th|tr|uk|vi|sq|ca|et|tl|gl|hi|id|lv|lt|mt|sl|uk|vi|cy|yi)/$ index.php?language=$1 [L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^/?(af|sq|ar|be|bg|ca|zh-CN|hr|cs|da|nl|en|et|tl|fi|fr|gl|de|el|iw|hi|hu|is|id|ga|it|ja|ko|lv|lt|mk|ms|mt|no|fa|pl|pt|ro|ru|sr|sk|sl|es|sw|sv|zh-TW|th|tr|uk|vi|sq|ca|et|tl|gl|hi|id|lv|lt|mt|sl|uk|vi|cy|yi)/(.*)?$ $2?language=$1 [L,QSA]

RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

Or will this cause problems ?

Please note that I`m NOT USING VBSEO !!!

Thank you in advance.

imported_silkroad 02-11-2010 05:46 AM

If you are not using vBSEO you don't need a vbseo php file (or any reference to vbSEO) in your rewrite rules ;D

In fact, if you are not using vBSEO, you more-than-likely, do not need an rewrite rule for your sitemaps.

mechanist 02-11-2010 12:35 PM

The vbseo_sitmap add on just came with an .htaccess entry.
This addon you can use without the vbseo installed. It`s just generating a sitmap for crawlers.

I do not know if the sitemap generator will work without this entry (last line) in .htaccess
Also I do not know what this command does - I`m not familiar with .htaccess command but I think there must be a reason why the sitemap generator came with this entry.

You need this rewrite rule, or something similar, if you want to use the vbseo site map generator.

Frankly speaking, the vbseo_sitemap generator has nothing do to with this mod. You should be asking these questions to the vbseo team.

mechanist 02-11-2010 02:37 PM

I know, i`m just affraid of an interaction between the translator .htaccess lines and the sitemap .htaccess lines. I guess the autor of this addon will be also interested if there will be a conflict with the translator and another addon.

TurkeySub 02-11-2010 05:53 PM

Hi Guys,

I have run into an issue and not quite sure when it started, but I have it now lol.

Link: www.gamerslifeline.com

If you visit that link you get directed to index.php, whereas it used to link to portal.php by default. The .htaccess is still correct for the "DirectoryIndex".

When I remove:

Code:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|vbseo_sitemap/|cron)
RewriteRule ^((archive/)?(.*\.php(/.*)?))$ vbenterprisetranslator_seo.php [L,QSA]

From my .htaccess, the "DirectoryIndex" works without issue, but as soon as I add them back, it quits working.

I also confirmed it works fine with the default VBSEO rule:
Code:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|cron|vbseo_sitemap)
RewriteRule ^((archive/)?(.*\.php(/.*)?))$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]

So where am I going wrong?

Full .htaccess
Code:

DirectoryIndex portal.php index.php

RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.gamerslifeline\.com
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.gamerslifeline.com/$1 [R=301,L]

RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap_).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !/(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images)/
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]

Thanks!

Thanks!

1. put sitemap rule before vBET rules
2. Try this one - change last vBEt rule to be similar like vbseo rule. So it will look like this:
Code:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !/(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images)/
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ vbenterprisetranslator_seo.php [L,QSA]

3. Also - didn't you miss something from vbseo rules? As I remember vbseo needs more than 1 rule in htaccess file...

The full .htaccess from VBSEO is:
Code:

# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning)
# to disable mod_rewrite functions.
# Please note: you still need to disable the hack in
# the vBSEO control panel to stop url rewrites.
RewriteEngine On

# Some servers require the Rewritebase directive to be
# enabled (remove '#' at the beginning to activate)
# Please note: when enabled, you must include the path
# to your root vB folder (i.e. RewriteBase /forums/)
#RewriteBase /

#RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.yourdomain\.com
#RewriteRule (.*) http://www.yourdomain.com/forums/$1 [L,R=301]

RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap_).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|cron|vbseo_sitemap)
RewriteRule ^((archive/)?(.*\.php(/.*)?))$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !/(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images)/
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]

With that, I do not believe I am missing anything.

Would you mind posting a complete .htaccess with all changes as you are suggesting?

mechanist 02-12-2010 03:55 AM

Working fine - thanks for your support !
