Hi,
any News about the buggy Cronjob?
If Usergroups where Changed in ACP, there where not displayed correctly in the Map.

Tralala 04-01-2007 04:18 PM

I see at one point this automatically placed users Avatars in the bubble. And then it got removed. :( Too much incompatibility with various browsers, I presume?

I'd love the option to get avatars back. Any plans for trying again?

I have to agree 100%. It would be nice to see some other coder(s) take on an updated Google Map MOD. This one was probably best in class a year ago but is in need of some enhancements to be more Web 2.0. Just my opinion and I'm not knocking the MOD, just seeing an opportunity for another coder to take over this type of MOD and make some decent money. I know I would pay for an enhanced version of these MODs.

OK, this is working pretty well in test for us on vB 3.6.4 (Apache2/PHP5/MySQL5/Linux). We have these exceptions:
- Picture display comes and goes. Sometimes scrolling the map helps?
- Some members don't see the pins or links above the on map certain computers.

My advice to those having complete problems (no display) is: recapitulate the install and make sure the cron task is working. That advice may be worth nothing. I can't support the add-on for you any further. As always, the more details you post, the more likely you are to get help. If it was me, I'd post: O/S, vB & add-on versions plus file locations uploaded, plus cron task log.

...

To be clear again: You can wreck things playing around at this level. If you do, its YOUR fault. My code is NOT authorized by Stonyarc and frankly, I expect him to delete this post when he/she returns. For those who have the skills to deal with this, I hope this helps you. I've been helped so much be vb.org over the years.

Thanks very much for sharing this; I very much wanted to enable avatars in the GoogleMap ME on my forum, and so I followed these instructions to a "T." Avatars are, in fact, stored in my forum's database.

And so I made a full backup of my database, created the php (making sure to edit it to match my forum's URL ;) ) and then uploaded the file... created the cron job, and manually ran it.

Then I ran that SQL query... but don't see standard avatar URLs. All I see are the URLs to pics folks have "manually" attached to their map entry. Of course I still don't see any avatars in the actual map, either. In fact, it appears that nothing has changed. So now I am just wondering if there's anything else I can try.

I am running vBulletin 3.6.4.
Server Type: Linux
Web Server: Apache v1.3.37 (cgi)
PHPL 4.4.4
MySQL Version: 5.0.24a-standard-log
Not too many add-ons, everything else is running swimmingly, in fact.

Again, thanks for sharing this!

I've got a weird problem.

Before my migration to VB I installed a VB instance with my current database with the googlemap. Then, when you clicked on a users location the default zoom level (8 in my case) worked flawless.

Now I've installed VB again for production forum and installed the same version of the googlemap but the default zoom level for a user marker won't work.

I saw more people got this problem, anybody any idea what the problem might be?

Thnx

I'd just like it to zoom to a default zoom level when I click on a marker already on the map. It doesn't zoom at all unless I drag the slider.

I noticed this too... regardless of what I set for "Default zoom of the maps when using a link to show the marker" in AdminCP, when I link to the map from a user's postbit (using $findme) it always zooms at zoom level of 10.

Does this now work in FireFox? I can see themap in IE but not FireFox.

Is this mod no longer supported?

dadu911 04-12-2007 03:10 PM

How can I show all the users whom already have set their locations automatically rather them posting up a mark. They selected location in USERCP can they show automatically on the map ?
