Have you thought about a STAR rating system that is listed between the joke ID and the joke name when listing the jokes..
And also have the rating system not allow the user to vote more than once on the same joke.

I have updated the products-vbjokes.xml file as there was a error in there.
This can only be installed as a new install.
So if you want to upgrade to this version you will need to remove the old version and reinstall vbjokes.
This means if you have jokes already there you will lose them sorry for this but im working on a fix to this and some other things too.

Doing a great job bro !!
Fixed the quote's that was being put in when adding a joke.
Also added a stars raking insted of just the numbers.

This will have to be installed as a new install not a upgrade.

So the new install removes the quotation marks all together now?

I had added the rating system from earlier.

Do I need to remove any templates or the rating system I added earlier.
The ratings is still coming up as the number system and I can still vote more than once.

Sorry m8 you will have to uninstall the vbjokes all together and reinstall.
Then you will have all the updates in this version.
You will not need to put any templates in as the install file for this new version will do it all for you.

I've installed it and activated but when I goto vbjokes.php I get this error:

If you read up top and look at the install notes it will tell you how to install vbjokes with out any problems.

im working on putting user group promissions in so you can stop unwanted people adding new jokes.
This will not be a upgrade just upload a new file and replace a file.

Ah, I see...I thought step #6 was only for upgrading from a previous version and since this was my first install of it I didn't import the ugprade...anyway, it's working now, thanks for your help :)

What to do, what to do......
If you have these installed already you dont need to use the upgrade script.
But if you look in the upgrade script you will need to change 2 templates to get the pages to look like what i have.

The templates to look for are jokes

jokes_view_joke update this one
JOKES update this one

see if you have these 2 templates installed

jokes_toprating_jokes
jokes_top_jokes

If they are not in your templates look in the upgrade.xml file for these and add them to your templates like so

add new template
Product ---- vbjokes
Title ------- the one you are adding
enter the html code
save

If you want me to put the code up i will do so

The templates aren't getting cached for me : Uncached templates: jokes_top_jokes (3)
Uncached templates: jokes_toprating_jokes (3)

btw, we really need the quotation fix, 98% of my jokes have quotations and it can be confusing with them missing.

To fix this you need to edit the vbjokes.php file

find
PHP Code:
 'jokes_view_jokesinthiscat',
 'jokes_categorys',
 'jokes_categorys_bit',
 'jokes_home' 
replace with
PHP Code:
'jokes_view_jokesinthiscat',
 'jokes_categorys',
 'jokes_categorys_bit',
 'jokes_home',
 'jokes_toprating_jokes',
 'jokes_top_jokes' 
That will fix that problem

I have fixed the quotes out but it will only work on new jokes that are added.
You will have to go and edit the old jokes you have and take them out.

Thanks for the fix for the uncached templates!

About the quotations, I don't mind adding the jokes again, when do you plan on releasing the fix?

Also, I changed the name of the script to 'jokes' from 'vbjokes' , but then these functions don't work : Jokes Main | Categories | Search Joke | Add A Joke , because it still calls 'vbjokes.....' and doesn't update the name of the script.

1 more issue I've come across, when you turn the jokes system off and click the jokes link it just reloads the index instead of taking you to an offline message.

A Few issues...

1. How can I l set the jokes to be alligned to the left instead of centered...
They get all jumbled when they are centerd, and looks awful..

2. When someone links an image, the image gets all streched out, can U make it viewable as the original size..

All the text is in the phrases now so you need to look there.
Goto your phases and do a search for vbjokes that will list all the vbjokes phrases.
Then edit the one you want to change

Just installed, install went nice and easy but Im getting the following error message when I click VbJokes from the Navbar.

6. login to admincp
goto Plugin System
Manage Products
[Add/Import Product]
EITHER upload the XML file from your computer product-vbjokes-upgrade.xml
Allow Overwrite yes
click inport
