My observation: With all due respect to TNG, it seems most of his time now is spent where it probably should be, fixing problems for paying customers. I'm sure he'll rectify any issues, but don't expect lightning fast support replys. |
is workin on 3.5.3 ?

I've tried uninstalling and installing again, as well as doing the debug. |
same here
|
I just tested it on a clean 3.5.3 installation and its fine. Make sure that your entry is 'active'. If you are still having problems, try debug->rebuild from your GAL admincp.
BTW: I have just updated the package with a new gal/includes/gal_class_core.php file which is far more efficient. To upgrade, just replace your old onewith the one contained in the 4.51 package. nJoy |
tested again on 2 boards ! local and my website but still doesnt work
3 screenies included help me plz :( |

Hi,
although you pretty much seem to ignore my posts (at least I never get an answer) :tired: : I have the same problem. Worked with the reservations described in my previous posts; after I updated the gal/includes/gal_class_core.php nothing is replaced any more. No other changes made whatsoever. I really like the concept of Autolinker and thought about upgrading to the full thing, but since it doesn't seem to work and I don't get any answers to my questions :disappointed: Sven |
The pro version is working pretty good without any bugs and etc...
As you can see in top of thread this hack is NOT supported so what is the point of ?? Quote:
Even this hack is not supported Geek is trying to support everyone as he could. He has a life and etc.. Try to show some respect to people. |

sorry, but I simply missed your question.
The answer is yes, it will replace multiple words, however there are certain limitations. If it doesnt appear to be working, double check the source code fro the words in question to see if there is formatting arounf any of the words which would make GAL pass it by. THe other thing to check is to ensure that it is active. HTHs |
installed, thanks
|
How will this hack affect server performance?
If each posting needs to be parsed and checked for GALs any time it is to be viewed, this must have an effect. Or does it user the vB built in posting cache? If yes, how will newly added GALs be worked into posts which are already in the cache? |

How long is a bit o string? ;)
I have seen sites with 1,000 GALs that the admin claims has little to no impact - however I would suspect that its not a heavily trafficked site. The more traffic, the more gals, the more load. On light to medium traffic it most likely wont make a noticeable difference unless you add shed loads of entries. |

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, it is active (set to yes) and I pm'd you with a url.
Thank you |
in the GAL manager in this box;
"Ignore threadid (dont autolink this thread)" what do I enter to have every occurence to be linked?? and with regards to the ordinal, I know it means "The order of replacement. This is a very important setting as it determines which links will get replaced first. Links are on a first come first serve basis. The lower the ordinal, the more precedence the links have" but what numbner should I have in there if I want every occurence to be linked? |
Suggestion needed. I've had this running for a bit now and working perfectly. Now I did the upgrade to 3.5.3 and can't say I noticed a whole lot to be honest but today when I expected this hack to take effect, it showed properly after I posted and the AJAX refresh took place but going back to the thread later, no linking was going on.
I redid the hack, uploading files and importing the product with the overwrite on, then did the rebuild. No difference. As soon as I post, it's fine, do a refresh on the screen and it goes away. Thoughts? |
Hi
This does not work when editing threads/posts but works well when creating a new 1 :) Thanks |

When i create a new thread with a linked word then thats fine it posts the linked word no problem!! |
If its not linked, then its for a reason (i.e. formatting code surrounding the word). The linking occurs when a post is viewed whether its a new thread, edited thread or regular post.

Hi
It does work on certain posts by the looks of it.... But not on a post i created a few days agao... Oh well, its working, that will do me lol |
can you provide a url?
Thanks |
I can...but the actual thread in question that does not want to play ball is
in the admin lounge, if ya want admin access then i will PM you :) |
if thats cool, then please do

Hi m8
Dont know if you took a look or not... Anyway i have noticed another small issue.. The stats do not work, when i click on any stats fo any word there is only a blank page? |
Quote:
Anyway I have a similar issue but have not gone through it too much to try to figure out what it is. If I edit a post the auto-link no longer is there it becomes regularly formatted text. The other issue I have noticed is if the same keyword is located on the page more than once it will only load once. Not 100% of the time though, could that be cache related? Not asking for any support, I understand how you feel about it. I am just looking for an opinion more or less. I actually agree with the developers on it, how can we reasonably be so pro-free for all mods when the software we are modifying is $200. If the commercial developer gave the options we were looking for (and at time demand) from the start the first 3 pages of this thread would be null. I have paid for proper hacks and will continue if the time and effort has the script worth the small contribution for the time involved. By the way The Geek, I am considering ummm... your other options. I am curious if you know of the other thing (trying not to get you in trouble here) would support customizable tool tip options such as what can be found here? |
I am using the full version, but upgraded from the lite version
hence im asking here as i think sommat during the upgrade didnt go to plan lol |
I installed it on 3.5.3 and it "sometimes" works. When you first submit a post, it shows up with the links. When you refresh the page, they are gone. If you quick reply to the post with the missing links and quote it, they appear in the quote box. If you refresh it they are gone again. I have no idea what's going on here. Additionally I have one that persists and seems to work right, but around it in the same post are other words that should be links but are not.
They are all active (set to yes), I have tried setting the order to all zero and also to 0 1 2 3 4 5 to see if that would matter, I have rebuilt the post cache. What is going on here? I know you're not supporting this "much", but I need something like this and I'm gonna end up paying for it apparently, because the Lite version doesn't work. If you can't explain to me why the Lite version doesn't work and the Pro version does, then why would I pay for the Pro version? |
can you provide a URL for a page where refreshing makes the links vanish?

With GAL there is an option to prevent words appearing linked more than once. Do you have this on or off? |
Quote:
The setting was blank, but I set it to 0 and no change. |
I had a problem with double linked words
Like....you have Bluefly and when you hover over Bluefly it says Shaop at Bluefly, this does not help your cause me dont think as its trying to auto link the word Bluefly in the autolink message..... Change it and see what happens... |
Is this with a quick reply?
