VERSION 1.1 UPDATE: Added the optional ability to allow users to create their own auction sites using the easy-auction site generator ezauctgn.zip script.
Download the attached ezauctgn.zip file to allow your users to create their own individualized auction sites that you host! the Easy Auction Site Generator - uses EveryAuction from EverySoft to offer Auction Site Hosting, modified with more features and abilities. After you install this script at your site, you offer your guests the ability to create their own Auction Sites. Then link the template iframe to your easy auction site generator (be sure to follow the instructions enclosed in that zip file on which files to edit and how to edit them). Each auction site can be tailored and the owner may specify the following:
1. Edit $config{"basepath"} = to show where the base path is for your script. Leave /$sitedir/ included. 2. If you add or remove categories from the catlist.txt you need to change these to be the same in ezauct.pl 3. Edit your $config{'mailprog'} to show where send mail is on your server. 4. Edit $config{'admin_address'} to YOUR email address 5. Edit $config{'scripturl'} to show where the url for ezauct.pl is. Leave ?sitedir=$sitedir included. 6. Edit $config{'sitename'} to the name of your Auction Service 7. Where you see the line $config{'footer'}=<<"EOF"; Between this line and EOF edit this footer to put banner advertisements in there and to link back to your Free auction service. 8. Search ezauct.pl in all instances for cam2.gif and buyit.gif and change the url to where you put the images on your server 9. In Sub: New Registration find all instances where it says RootsSearch.net and change it to your service name. 10. Upload helppost.html into the base directory where user pages would be created. Now in print footer change the url to where your Help Posting html file is. 11. Edit the auction template iframe to point to your new easy auction site. Chmod all of the cgi files to 755 and that should be it! Owner & Auction Features

Hummm,
I have done everything as written in the instructions, but when I go to the finished article, it just all shows up as code incased in the template you have written. I definetly have perl 5.8 on my server, everything is CHMOD'ed correctly and files that need to be in the cgi-bin are there. I'm not sure of the ways of perl, so I amn't very good at problem solving with it, sorry. |
yoyoyoyo, please can you tell me when we can expect the 3.5 version?
I need it really and would love it to can use it soon, thank you. |

Hm, please can you tell us if we should wait for a 3.5 version yoyoyo?
Sorry for asking again. Thank you. |
This is a fantastic mod! Could you please upgrade it so that it works on 3.5? :nervous:

im right in beliving that the users aren't integrated from the vbulletin database right? So you have to have another log-in and password to operate the auction?

Any plans to upgrade this to work with the latest version of Vbulletin?
As of today the current version of Vbulletin is 3.5.3 Doug |
i'm trying to install this with my forum... i haven't upgraded to 3.5 yet. anyway.. i keep getting this error:
Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@anime-extreme.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. and i've doublechecked all the settings, can anyone help? |
This is a great hack, I was able to install without any problems.
One feature I would like to see would be a away for current VB user to just cilck a button and it would generate an account for this. Just a thought. |

anyone help me with my problem?
|
yoyoyoyo -- there's a way to dynamically resize an iframe based on the amount of content in it.
If you're interested, give me a shout - I don't know how to post code in this forum, but I have it working for my site. In essence, it involves listener JS in the calling page, and sender JS in the body of the iframe, and a body OnLoad. -m |
Great hack! Everything works great, thanks for all your hard work.

I am considering this add on, however I have a few questions that I would like to ask...
1. Has anyone installed this on V 3.5.4 Does it run ok, no problems? 2. Is it possible to modify the code so that users can upload attachments, rather than point it to an image URL? 3. How many images can you upload or point to? Just one, or more? 4. I would like to have the actual auction up the top, followed by the thread which contains discussions about the auction itself underneath. Is this the case? Or is it just the ad? RJ |
Anyone have any news on this hack being upgraded to run on the latest version.
I tried to install it on 3.5.4 but one of the index pages is completely different. RJ |
Looking to see if this has been upgraded to work with 3.4.5
ANyone know?? |

I see: <iframe name="auction" ALIGN="CENTER" BORDER="0" FRAMEBORDER=0 HEIGHT=3000 WIDTH=100% MARGINHEIGHT=0 VSPACE=0 MARGINWIDTH=0 SCROLLING=0 src="$bboptions[bburl]/cgi-bin/auction/auction.pl"></iframe> Where is $bboptions[bburl] defined? Is that something I should need to edit? |
OK, I fixed the iframes problem, but found that the auction.cgi and admin.cgi scripts are the problem. They run, but produce gibberish.
I'm running VBulletin 3.5.4 0 is that the problem? Or do I have some settings wrong? The output from each looks largely like the CGI file itself starting after the #!/usr/bin/perl line. |

This modification says it is for 3.0.8 |
Are there any plans to get this program to work with VB 3.6.x soon?
Doug |
I am very interested in this for 3.5 , is there any other similar releases ?
|
Will this work with 3.6.2? I'm looking for it or something similar. Thanks!
|
is this gonna work for latest version of vb
|
This is exactly what I was looking for, but is there a port to or someone willing to work on this and move it to 3.6.x?
|
does this allow for the admin to collect fees for listings and selling of the items the members list and end up selling for by using their service?
|
is vbay hack better than this, what are the differences between vbay and this?
|
yes, there is Vbay for the newer versions of vbulletin. Vbay was recently coded by me so I am still adding new features.
|
do this mod including payment system like paypal, worldpay etc?
|
Does this work with 3.6.x?
|
Does it work on the last version of VB?
|
Some One ?
|
