Just remove the plugins and delete the uploaded files.

Okay their is only one major problem I have left here. That is that some messages managed to cuase a php stack overflow. We need to see if we cant figure out why and get a work around made. :)

Installed and works great once again (also ran it on 3.0.x) upgraded fine, found my old settings. I am back in business on 3.5 RC3.

< 1min to upgrade.

How do I get it to remove the NNTP menus in the ACP?

You must delete all files you uploaded to fully uninstall the file that does the acp menus is in the includes/xml directory

The file is named:
cpnav_nntp_gateway.xml

I have seen some 3.07 boards running older nntp hack where the username is correct. Is this some bug or i have missed some setting?

same newsgroups.. but mine has some serious probs

Nevermind got it working. Now I did the microsoft fetch thingy and it only pulled 10 posts. Why?

Also I set lastsetmsg.php where the nntp.php is and ran nntp.php so it would only grab the newest messages, was that the correct order?

Also where do I go to find other usenet's that are free like microsofts?

Why run a full table repair when your mailing list importing is not working?

Run the script in debug mode might help finding out the problem.

If the debug message says the post is ok. Then herhaps the server has got some restriction.

Btw another question. Is it possible to make the posting to newsgroups allowed only for particular forums(newsgroups) and not for all.(that is disabled for rest but allowed for some).

And how to add that extusrfor the newsgroup users like you have on your site.

1) It is not possible with the current setup. Unless the table is changed. More code added. As it is, the settings are already confusing some people. Adding more options probably will confuse more.

You can however disable posting using vB settings for some forums, or set the posts to be moderated.

2) I am using a CVS version. :) Next release will sure include this.

Quick question - how do you control the length of thread titles that get posted? I have a fixed width style that gets broken all the time because a lot of USENET messages have very long titles - both the showthread and postbit tables get broken because of this. I can't find any setting in vbulletin options that will trunciate these; what am I missing?

I am planning to use VB with this MOD to archive a Mailman-based mailing list.

I plan to use this mod for mailing list archive.

In the readme file, it says:

Warning: Make sure using the new forums you created in step '3.', don't associate
any of your existing forums to a newsgroup, otherwise all posts
currently in there will be exported, so be careful.

But if set Send message to USENET send_message=0, would this help? What happens if I set this to 1 at a later date? Will everything in the forum be sent?

By the way, this mod doesn't seem to support IMAP. Or does it?

another question:
for example in outlook i subscribe a microsoft.public.access newsgroup.
the posting which i see is 15768, this number of posting should equal with the posts in front of my forum, and its not the same count of postings.

in newsgroup_settings i add a newsgroup with last message at count 0, the cronjob is starting gateway.php, and at the and of the import process they count at 5187, like simple mathematics -> 15768 ./. 5187 = 10581 and now where are the postings about 10581? i definitly start at count 0, why the script doesn't import all postings? is there a dependance to the newsserver i connect? i mean is this the reason? is there anybody with same tricky problem?

I think this is a great mod and I really want to get it working. But, I need it to support IMAP. I've installed the vB Mail Reply mod and that works with IMAP. The mod includes the file vbemailreply.php which includes code for checking IMAP email. Perhaps we can try to incorporate that into gateway.php?

My PHP skills are very very limited but I'll try to figure it out when I have some time. Maybe someone else can help?

is it possible to get support for yenc encoded messages? Becuase I import picture groups like alt.binary.automobiles and about 1 of every 4 messages is sent using yenc and what happens is the stuff gets all turned into the body of the post.
