Hey Abe1;

I just installed the hack and have a few questions:

- After the hack is installed, how do we actually use it? Meaning is there something within the AdminCP or do we have to browse to the loginlog.php?

- I just installed it, but I'm getting an error message:

Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.1:

Invalid SQL:

SELECT COUNT(*) AS total
FROM logins AS logins;

MySQL Error : Table 'myserver_vbforums.logins' doesn't exist
Error Number : 1146
Date : Friday, November 11th 2005 @ 01:03:32 PM
Script : http://www.mydomain.com/forums/admincpl/loginlog.php
Referrer : http://www.mydomain.com/forums/admincpl/loginlog.php
IP Address : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Username : XXX Forums Administrator
Classname : vb_database
Now, I did edit some of the info on here for obvious reasons. Note, the 'username' in this case does have two spaces in it.

I'm not a total n00be, but perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

Joe

Great plugin. For a future release I might suggest logging cookie log ins.

I meant Logins via cookie. I have users who haven't "logged in" for months but still check the Forum once a day.

I had a version of this for 3.0.x that logged logins-via-cookie as well adn I found it extremely helpful. Most of my users are co-located and so being able to see whather they had to put their username and password in when they accessed their account during a given session can be very useful when someone complains that they aren't the ones who posted something under their account.

Sorry for the bump, does anyone have any ideas? Please see post #81 above.

Thanks for the sweet hack!

It is already. Look under Logs and stats.

ThorstenA 12-15-2005 03:42 PM

Nice idea.

(maybe it should be in folder "extensions" as this plugin requires to upload files).

utw-Mephisto 01-04-2006 11:14 PM

Works great on 3.5.3 ... no problems whatsoever :)

One question though : Can I make it useable for mods too ?

Not as of yet.

Argyle 01-05-2006 01:40 PM

Nice hack :)

It'd be great in future to have the IP addresses for failed logins for at least admin and supermod accounts - I guess that's what the 3.0.x hack linked earlier in this thread was good for.

Thanks Abe!

Is it possible to track users by visit or do they actually need to post in order for their ip address to be recorded?

This tracks when a user logs in. Nothing to do with posting.

FD929 01-09-2006 03:20 PM

I'm aware of that. ;) I'm just curious if it's possible to track users by visit. Tracking the logins is great, but once someone logs in they no longer have to (the one's that check the 'remember me' box anyways). With users purchasing premium content, I need a way to make sure no one is getting around the system by 30 different people using the same login. :)

I hope to work on a way for this soon.

You rock Abe. :)

Thanks for this hack :) It'll help me to better track down multiple account users, which I seem to have a big problem with on my board!

Installed without any hassle, and working sweetly on 3.5.3! :)

You could inconvenience your members by making this adjustment to your board so that they are forced to login each time, which would make this particular log logins hack more powerful and increase the size of the log file as well.

will this slow down my server?

No. It only adds one query every time some one logs in.

Did you upload the file to the right spot?

Installed this hack and now I can't log in to my forum or my admin CP. Please help. My forum generates a fair percentage of my income.

I get the following error (I've removed my details for obvious reasons):

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.3:
Invalid SQL:
INSERT INTO logins (userid, username, ipaddress, phpdate, logintype) VALUES (1, 'xxxxxxx', 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, 1139754764,

Update:

I just discovered that if I go directly to the admin CP url and try to log in, this happens -

I get the error message in my above post in my browser. If I then press the back button which takes me back to admin CP login screen and click the link to my forum, I am logged in (only on my forum, not admin CP). Still can't access admin or mod CP though.

Try unistalling this hack and then re-installing it.
