awesome buddy - thanks for releasing the script

MindTrix 06-09-2005 06:53 PM

Is this usergroup based? Such as only certain usergroups can view/download/submit

afusion 06-09-2005 07:14 PM

Well I have ug perms ready but I haven't implemented some of them yet. The editing/deleting permissions are enabled but I have to check the code to remember about the rest.

steadicamop 06-09-2005 08:35 PM

One thing, this seems to work ok, I haven't tested it yet, but why do you need to give it a forum ID .... when I give it the ID code #60, and go to that forum, there's nothing there ... what do I have to do, make it a link to the /nutt directory?

Or am I just missing something simple.

Thank you so much for this, I've been waiting for a working BT Tracker for ages ... respect sir :D

steadicamop 06-09-2005 09:02 PM

Sorry, I understand it now, it adds the files to that forum ... cool hack!

arabuser 06-10-2005 12:35 AM

I done installtion correctly but I still face this error message

Fatal error: Cannot increment/decrement overloaded objects nor string offsets in /home/httpd/vhosts/httpdocs/nutt/index.php on line 49

Outdoor 06-10-2005 03:03 AM

nevermind, looking good.

Any plans to update user browse.php? I have edited it out but could be nice in the future

arabuser 06-10-2005 05:35 PM

Back to the error message I faced

Fatal error: Cannot increment/decrement overloaded objects nor string offsets in /home/httpd/vhosts/httpdocs/nutt/index.php on line 49

I commented line 49 function & line 70 too and the tracker is working now & i can upload & hash the files but without can be seeding

I donno what is the problem & what 49 & 70 lines do maybe I face this problem coz i'm using vbportal

yoyoyoyo 06-10-2005 06:21 PM

I am on the verge of uninstalling this hack, since so far there has only been one successful connection despite numerous efforts from numerous users. The succesful connection was at 40 KBPS, and the download finished fine, but since then there have been no successful connections from other users. Also- one other user was seeding a file, and when I tried to connect it listed them as a peer, and it said they only had 16% of one file, and 96.7% of another file (when they obviously had the whole thing since they were seeding). afusion claims that my Bittornado client is my problem, so I tried other torrent clients, including azureus, with no luck (and Bittornado is never a problem on any of the other trackers that I connect to). I appreciate the efforts and help of afusion, and his willingness to share, but I think that this hack obviously needs a lot more work until it is ready (thus the Beta Release status), so I will wait until the final release, if there is one, to try again, unless anyone has any ideas how to fix these problems in the meantime.

afusion 06-10-2005 08:25 PM

I seriously doubt NuTT is the problem. How would I be running a tracker on my site with almost no problems usually averaging at 700 peers?

Actually, I recommend you to uninstall this hack.... and then make a clean install with the latest distro.

Outdoor 06-10-2005 08:30 PM

working fine for me, seeding with bittornado at home and azureus at work. 5 seeds and 14 leechers right now. I did a clean install yesterday to run the lastest version and besides errors on my part it has worked fine

yoyoyoyo 06-11-2005 12:46 PM

I uninstalled and then re-installed using the latest files (re-uploaded to my server). I set the permissions to allow Admins and Mods to be able to connect to the tracker, and I uploaded a torrent. This morning I went to the tracker to see how it was doing, and I was taken to the login page, saying I did not have proper permissions to access the file. I went to the control panel and checked and Admins still have the ability to do anything on the tracker, however now I can't even log in to the torrent tracker via my forum! arrgh

TopeeGuy 06-13-2005 12:39 PM

Does this script automatically create a thread announcing a new torrent in a forum?

If so, a suggestion: in the forum where it makes the thread, can it post them in subforums? I.e. say you added a new torrent to the mp3 category, can there be a subforum in the downloads forum called mp3 which is where the thread is announced?

If that's not possible, at the very least, can the thread have the picture next to it in the forumdisplay (i.e. mp3, album, etc)?

I am having some of the same problems and have tried the same solutions with little success.

I just want to contribute so hopefully it will help towards a better hack for all.

I am testing this on vBulletin v3.0.3.

1. the image folder gets set to the wrong path
2. the upload template is missing category - which results in error for incomplete info
3. getting a you don't have permission error and promts for login when trying to run details.php
4. getting "Parse error: parse error, unexpected '{' in /xxxx/xxxx/public_html/xxxxxx/nutt/testvars.php on line 17" when trying to run testvars.php

Selene 06-13-2005 03:08 PM

It works on my server intermittently.. it works for some users, but not others. It still seems a bit finicky to me at this point.

TopeeGuy 06-13-2005 05:22 PM

Hmm. There's a JavaScript error on the actual torrent page... mucks up the "Rate" torrent bit.

Also, I can't seed. I upload the torrent, then download the torrent and load it up. My BT client gives this error:

Error: Bad Tracker Response Header: HTTP/1.1 404... in Tracker: http://www.siteurl.com/vbulltest/nutt/announce.php/59061d6947bc34e6eb8d35383e6e48d2/passkey

HTTP 404 error?

Outdoor 06-13-2005 05:27 PM

did you go to the maintenance script from your browser by going to http://yoursite.com/nutt/nutt_maintenance.php
Click 'Generate Passkeys'.

TopeeGuy 06-13-2005 06:01 PM

Yes, tried it. Still doesn't work...

Outdoor 06-13-2005 06:02 PM

did you download the torrent from your website?

TopeeGuy 06-13-2005 06:06 PM

Yes... "4.torrent".

Selene 06-13-2005 06:39 PM

nutt/nutt_maintenance.php

when i run this i get all kind of errors.

i installed nutt to ../forums/nutt instead of ../nutt/forums

can that be the reason?

anyway i can uninstall ? or what doi do

Outdoor 06-13-2005 06:50 PM

to uninstall - /forum/admincp/nutt_install.php?step=uninstall

I ran into that problem too, I just moved the folder, updated the links in the admin section and it worked fine

TopeeGuy 06-13-2005 07:37 PM

Does this addon require any special additions in php.ini? Because I've tried everything, but it keeps giving a 404 on announce.php/whatever/passkey. I've uninstalled, reinstalled (including checking the file-edits again), moved the nutt dir inside and outside of /forum/ folder... but nothing's making it work.

I know I'm making the torrent files okay because I added a test torrent to the preview site and it worked fine...

When I go to:

Code:

http://www.siteurl.com/nutt/announce.php/blahblahblah/passkey
on Outdoor's and afusion's sites, it gives an error (rightely so). When I go to the same on mine, I get a 404 :(

Thanks.

Outdoor 06-13-2005 08:02 PM

only thing I can think of is editing the register.php file

I joined your site but couldn't connect to the tracker

TopeeGuy 06-13-2005 08:21 PM

Perhaps it's a bug with version 0.74?

Has anyone got v0.74 running successfully?

Outdoor 06-13-2005 08:34 PM

mine is .74, just haven't updated the little line. I did compare the two files and only upload.php has changed

arabuser 06-14-2005 03:26 PM

[QUOTE]

now I have same problem 404 error message when try to seed any file

Outdoor 06-14-2005 03:27 PM

Outdoor, do you know what the 404 error is being caused by now? Could you let me know since I still haven't had any luck...

Outdoor 06-14-2005 04:28 PM

not a clue since I haven't run into it

where does the 404 come from?

TopeeGuy 06-14-2005 04:33 PM

The bittorrent client... I upload a torrent, download the torrent from the system, open the torrent up in my torrent client, find the finished file on my computer so I can seed it, and then the bittorrent client tries to announce the seed to http://www.siteurl.com/nutt/announce.php/blahblahblah/passkey but gives a 404 error... When I tried downloading a torrent from your site, the above URL gave a PHP error (which is fine) and not a 404...

Very very strange problem it seems :(

TopeeGuy 06-14-2005 04:59 PM

The exact error BitComet gives:

Error: Bad Tracker Response Header: HTTP/1.1 404... in Tracker: http://www.siteurl.com/nutt/announce.php/6ea7617da4c3d0754d7af60b6861dc0d/passkey

I tried Azuerus too... that gave a similar HTTP 404 error.

Outdoor 06-14-2005 05:03 PM

wow that is strange, no clue what would cause it

TopeeGuy 06-14-2005 05:19 PM

Just spoke to afusion... he thinks it's probably a server problem. Hopefully there will be a solution soon.

Outdoor 06-14-2005 05:25 PM

glad he could help, I am no coder, I just adjust the code to fit my needs

arabuser 06-14-2005 05:34 PM

I think 404 error need some changes in http.conf setting but i'm not sure yet
