Oke here the screens how I setup the category, and my pad to de server (downloads), and how I added a file (uploading).

The file is called iroland.zip, but when I have uploaded the file, the file called "F1C Iroland iroland [].zip" The text which I fill in in the category comes stand also in my filename on the server.
THanks for the images. However, please provide an image of the Downloads->settings. Your linking is probably messed up.

When I go back to the original files I find out that half the options are now set as NO..
I am not sure what your talking about here. Are the admin settings in the admincp/usergroup.php reverted back to no? What exactly is the problem.

You will the URL of the file that I try to downloading, sorry I do not understand you what you exactly want.

Rhoads 01-28-2005 12:06 AM

I think you will see my settings pad

Ron1n 01-28-2005 12:13 AM

change /forums/downloads/ to /vbtest/forums/downloads

I assume that when you connet to your site you type www.yourdomain.com/vbtest/forums/downloads right?

SO you want everything AFTER the .com/.us/.net/.nl/.de/.org

:)

It was a typo in usergroups.php my mistake

now when I try and download I get the following

(for example)

Quote:

Multiple Choices
The document name you requested (/downloads/777/SWG Alawar.com Joes Farm 1.01 [].zip) could not be found on this server. However, we found documents with names similar to the one you requested.
Available documents:

/downloads.php/777/SWG Alawar.com Joes Farm 1.01 [].zip (common basename)
Please consider informing the owner of the referring page about the broken link.
and then
Quote:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(//downloads/777/SWG x test [].rar): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /includes/dl_add.php on line 54

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpo65Jfl' to '//downloads/777/SWG x test [].rar' in /includes/dl_add.php on line 54

http://www.ic-games.co.uk/forums/downloads.php

Thanks for the help and the hack

http://vbtest.mydomein.nl/forum/downloads/
but I have no acces.
But it is strange, I can upload many files I want, but no downloading.

Skyline_GT 01-28-2005 12:29 AM

Its been explained 4-5 times already. I just didnt feel like adding them. P.S. Skyline: add me to your msn: ronin(at)elitecoders(dot)org

That ist strange. Im sure you have SOMETHING set up wrong, because it works for me and most people figure out how to set it up after a while. If you want to talk with me on msn, you can do that too [ronin(at)elitecoders(dot)org]

Quote:

now when I try and download I get the following
Thats because the directory 'http://forums.ic-games.co.uk/downloads/777/' does not exist. Your downloads directory is http://forums.ic-gamers.co.uk/downloads/. I suggest editing your download settings from the admin panel.

James Collins 01-28-2005 12:46 AM

Now says Succesfully added file but I still get this error, with no files in the folder

Warning: move_uploaded_file(/forums/downloads/SWG TEST LATEST TEST [].rar): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /includes/dl_add.php on line 54

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpXwz79g' to '/forums/downloads/SWG TEST LATEST TEST [].rar' in /includes/dl_add.php on line 54

my download directory is indeed - http://forums.ic-gamers.co.uk/downloads/

Ive tried everything, exactly what should I put in the two fields?

Oke, I go to sleep now, en figured out tomorrow, I set my backup back, and do een clean install of the hack, I tell you tommorrow. For now, thnx for the support.

bonnmac 01-28-2005 12:54 AM

just a little tip setting this up "Setting the 'download url' this is the path from the domain, i.e. '/downloads/' depends on the way your forums is setup! if you have your forums as this "www.whatever.com/forums then the '/downloads/' is like this "'/forums/downloads/' but if you have your forums like this " www.forums.whatever.com" then its like this '/downloads/' what i did was start with the full upload dir and work backwards till it worked just thought this may help some of you ( this is for the downloads_config.php file)

Ron1n 01-28-2005 01:32 AM

i posted something at the beginning of the thread, everyone check it out

BamaStangGuy 01-28-2005 01:46 AM

Can't wait for the next release as I really need the ability to define other attachment extensions and remove the zip, tar and gz ones as I dont need them. I mainly need audio and video extensions

Also how about a size limit per extension?

Another thing would be a global limit on the size of the download folder. Once you have XXXmb of files uploaded to that directory it disables uploading of new files.

Dude...you have some issues, so chill. All I did was try to help and my update didn't ***k anything up. You are blaming me for your lack of completeness in your installer. You know as well as I do that my update was fine but you elect to blow off your steam on me when all you had to do was to verify if it existed in your installer and if it did then either delete it and add it again or leave it as is.

Before you go and attack anyone trying to help in the future think first. I was contacted by several users of your script and visited this thread after learning they had issues and they asked for my help as they thought they did something wrong only to find out the issues were on your end. So before you make yourself look like a fool I would quit this crap now.

Go to your downloads.php file, and if you are logged in you will see ?add.? Just click ?add? and you can add your files.

I didn?t blame you for my mistakes, read what I wrote. I just blamed you for making things worse, which you did. In the future just stay out of my business if you don?t know what you?re doing.

Its very simple. Look at my original post. You have clearly set something up incorrectly. If you give me detailed information I can help you, or if you have MSN/AIM/ICQ I can help you 1 on 1. I know it is difficult to set up at first, but all you need to do is follow the instructions closely.

I?ll add it.

ROFLMAO...you don't want to get into a pissing contest here...trust me. I looked at your coding very closely and I'll leave it at that, just do yourself a favor and don't make that comment again or I'll rip you apart. As I stated I was asked by several people for help since they know my work and I [wanted to help them out as I like doing that.

Theory 01-28-2005 12:29 PM

Oh my god. Big bad nerdy boy is gonna rip me apart on vbulletin.org. Whatever shall i do. I dont really care what you think of my PHP or anything else I do. The fact remains, I made a mistake, then you made it worse, period.

If you looked at the code and you know what your doing then you wouldnt have messed up. I believe you said yourself that you didnt even download it before you gave help the first time. I dont care if people asked you for help, PM them back with the help dont post it here and cause problems.

You should. Hrm. Are you logged in? What do you see at the top of the page? You should see a navigation panel and there is an add button on that.

Will this Feature added soon? Should I wait of the next release, or can I update then (easy ;) ) ?

It will be very easy. No code changes will be required. Just an install script (complete) and reuploading files.

Most Popular Files dont seens to work :-/
Stats. and Search are missing in this release, right?

Rhoads 01-28-2005 05:59 PM

Oke Ron1n, I have reinstalled 3 times, but I get everytime the same error when I will downloading a file
Code:

You don't have permission to access /forum/downloads/ Barfman Hud [].rar on this server.
My paths are good, I can upload with no problem.
I have 3 times the files geedit, and that is good.
I have een clean 3.0.6 with no hacks.

Is it normal that the files changed after the upload :disappointed:

Before upload = Hud.rar
After upload = Barfman Hud [].rar

Please, I have no msn (I hate that), and my English is not well.

Ron1n 01-28-2005 07:02 PM

Quote:

Ok, for the last time... wrong. This means only your upload path is good. It does not mean your download path is good. If you post ABSOLUTE path to your download directory and the ABSOLUTE path to your downloads.php I will give you exactly what to put in the field.

Quote:

Yes. But you should have the category abbreviation in the name. You obviously didnt fill it out. This could be causing the problem, because it is trying to access ' Barfman Hud [].rar' and not 'Barfman Hud [].rar.'

Reinstalling again will not help. You have to fill out the links correctly. This is not a problem with code, its a problem with knowing what to fill in.

Ron1n 01-28-2005 07:07 PM

p.s. is everyone having that problem with the popular files not showing up? they work fine on mine... but if they dont on other ppls just tell me and I will figure out whats wrong.

frankenberrie 01-28-2005 07:26 PM

Script looks great but I keep getting this error on file uploads:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 32144 is not allowed to access /home owned by uid 0 in /includes/dl_add.php on line 54

Also phrases are missing from admincp

try chmodding the download directory to 777, also set the owner to be your main account. It should not be trying to access /home. You probably linked to your upload/download folder incorrectly. If you tell me the full path to your download script and the full path to the download dir I can help you a little better.

For the 5th time: i didnt want to make them because I was lazy. add them yourself.

Rhoads 01-28-2005 07:41 PM

Oke, here all the paths of my.

Download path :
HTML Code:

http://vbtest.mysite.nl/forum/downloads/F1c Barfman Hud [].rar
/var/www/vbtest/forum/downloads/F1c Barfman Hud [].rar

Download.php path :
HTML Code:

http://vbtest.mysite.nl/forum/downloads.php
/var/www/vbtest/forum/downloads.php

Error when downloading :
Code:

You don't have permission to access /forum/downloads/F1c Barfman Hud [].rar on this server.
My download_config :
PHP Code:

<?php
$INFO
['d_perpage']   = '10';
$INFO['d_disable']   = '0';
$INFO['u_url']   = '/var/www/vbtest/forum/downloads/';
$INFO['d_url']   = '/forum/downloads/';
$INFO['d_order']   = '`name`';
?>

frankenberrie 01-28-2005 07:43 PM

I am not understanding what you mean by set the owner to be your main account.

Full path:
/home/maksy53/public_html/downloads/

my config file
PHP Code:

<?php
$INFO
['d_perpage']        = '20';
$INFO['d_disable']        = '0';
$INFO['u_url']            = '/home/maksy53/public_html/downloads/';
$INFO['d_url']            = '/downloads/';
$INFO['d_order']            = '`name`';
?>

Ron1n 01-28-2005 07:49 PM

to frankenberrie:

set owner = chown (its a linux command)
make sure its chmodded to 777 (can be done via ftp)

your settings should be as follows:
/home/maksy53/public_html/downloads/ = upload url
/downloads/ = download url

if that doesnt work, try:
../downloads/ = upload url
/downloads/ = download url

################################################## ###

to drl:

chmod your download directory to 777. this can be done via your ftp.

try again.

if that does not work, use the following settings:

./downloads/ = upload url
./downloads/ = download url

frankenberrie 01-28-2005 08:01 PM

Ron1:

Everything is chmod 777

I tried the 2 ways you said and I still receive the same error message.
