Link, My PHP version is 4.3.8....... i renamed the file you told me to rename and it's working....... for the most part.... the last two pages of installation shows this:

Since this is an upgrade for me.... i guess this didn't hurt me much since i'm guessing the last two pages are just what to change in templates and the "Installation Completed" page.... I'm looking at the shoutbox and it's working

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that I knew what needed to be done to change templates/files and stuff by looking at the readme.html.... (there wasn't much change of from the older version, of course)... so don't worry about that

It's impossible to tell you what is wrong unless you also tell me what MySQL error follows.

nvm i fixed it by just running a query i found on page 5 for dropping the quesies and just redoing them thanks anyways for the fast response :)

Only thing I can see is that it's a bad template and/or you didn't add the phrases correctly. IMO, that's all I can see that's wrong. I'm not sure completely though since I'm not a coder and couldn't tell you what could be wrong on the back-end. Best of luck! :)

Actually, the only problem I am having is with reading the usernames from previous shouts and the count total for them. The installation was very simple and I have my shoutbox up and running.

I just installed and all was going very well. No errors etc.

Once done, I tried to test it out, but it's simply not there!? The ONLY mention of it that I can find is in the Options dropdown. The "Shoutbox Options" are not visible in my user editor or in the usergroup settings.

What did I miss and how to fix?

(Running vb 3.0.3 and once again I should mention that I there were no errors or complaints of any kind during the setup. The shoutbox is enabled as well as the board.

Please, can anyone make a recommendation on how to proceed.

-EDIT/UPDATE: I have now just attempted a reinstall. Same problem. No complaints during installation. In the Admincp Users and Usergroups options make NO mention of the shoutbox.

The "Vbulletin Options" dropdown menu lists "shoutbox options" however changing any settings here failed to get the shoutbox to actully SHOW UP on the forumhome.

I can point my browser DIRECTLY at the shoutbox.php file on the webserver, and on that page everything works "as advertised".
I just cannot get it to show up on the forumdisplay. Double checked settings.
Cannot access any shoutbox options in user accounts usergroups, they appear as they've always been.

Could anyone PLEASE help!..

love this hack as i said before.
But i would like to delete regulary the shouts out of my database via php myadmin.
Until now i had to delete manually!! ( klick all the boxes ) to delete the shouts.
Unfortunately there is no option to hard delete all shouts at once.

Is there any query i could run which would delete the all the shouts in the table?
Manually sucks:)

Hey all :) I actually tried installing the upgrade but I got a white page with three errors (I'll check out your site as well geekydesigns.com), but I just wanted to mention that the previous version of this hack is working beautifully for me so I have no need to upgrade. Only thing I'd love is a mass delete button!

I had this same problem then renamed hack_install_b1.php to hack_install.php as suggested to another user. I then had an error towards then end and that user said they ran the queries that was posted on the page before to fix. I did that and well, it didn't work here are the errors i'm having.

Just remove the file edits and template edits and the hack is uninstalled. Just some database information will remain?

the fact still remains this has tons of bugs and needs some major re-tooling.

The hack itself DOES NOT HAVE any bugs that i am aware of, the installer still needs some tweaking and we are working ont it.

I'll try adding it without the installer, I'd really like to use your script. :) Let me know if I can bug you threw e-mail to get this working..

Sorry what were the last few edits I had to make to get the wysiwyg editor to work? I never done them when I installed 1.03d but I want to use it now.

I originally had some question on Phrases not appearing - but for some strange reason they just appeared - 3 hours after I posted this - dont ask !

I do have one issue - I noticed new shouts arent appearing on the forum homepage - but they show under shout.php..

Relatively clean vb3.0.3 install.
Full install rather than Upgrade

As far as install - got as far as installing templates click done and then got SQL error for the final step - someone mentioned this wasn't too important as it was just the final success page.
