I dont think he will be releasing it. He have been teasing people with it since 2002 or so. He always talks about it but never release it. showing off if you ask me

but that is a great journal system though too bad this guy will keep doing this and probably never release it

agreed, poor self esteem, I bet hes not even developing it, can't make an install file

Osterling 08-18-2004 06:57 PM

this has already been discusssed about him just teasing here.. he denies it but last time proves it.. he said if enough peopple want it he will release it, well last time alot of people wanted it and did he release it...

sorry bud but if you didn't release your version for vb2 with how many people wanted it you shouldn't have posted it this time too...

Osterling 08-18-2004 06:59 PM

And one more thing...

I am not demanding a release, and I understand all hacks are free so we should be grateful for what we do get but to be teased is wrong and this member has already proven he is a tease with vb2 version.

Really? well since i'm kinda new here I didnt know that, but well doing that is just...mmm... not right :ermm:

Showing people a mod and its development, I believe is alright, but teasing people about releasing it and not doing so just doenst seem right...

Osterling 08-18-2004 07:51 PM

Go to the second page (i think) your see what I am talking about

But I seem to remember this same type of post two years ago from this very poster: "I've created this kickass journal system, maybe would release it, hmm, would anyone be interested?" Eighteen kabillion pages of enthusiastic "hell yeah!"s and only one or two follow-ups from the originator later, it became apparent that gamingforce was not returning to his thread, which was still going even as late as a year later. Much disappointment ensued.

So please, with sugar on top, don't tease us or toy with our hopes, O gaming force! :D Only show us the yummy candy if you genuinely plan on sharing it with us.

Because it really really looks amazing and I really really want it. :D :D

I see what you are saying exasko ... ouch :ermm: ...... as I said, is cool if he wants to share the development of the hack and all, but teasing people about releasing it and not doing so is a big no no,

and that is just my opinion

Look on the bright side. If he doesn't ever release it, but continues to show it off and talk about all these cool new features, then y'know what happens?

He'll have come up with even more ideas that I can add in my vBulletin Journal system, which I will release (no doubt about that).

This is a win-win situation for everyone who likes the features they see here. :)

*disappears again* (shhh :p)

Yeah, i agree with you, we can also see all this with a positive attitude :)

I don't think people should discuss their development / projects prior to release. It does no good and it only brings in a hype (which I see as indirect spam-2-build-name). When it is out of alpha status and ready for public beta testing, make a beta release. When it is stable and can be released as full release, do that.

Everybody can make a journal.php - just copy showthread.php to journal.php and change the PHP if conditional for THIS SCRIPT so it only evals for certain forum, then make a child style and modify the proper templates and control them with a conditional to display the journals as you want. And then set to override the forum with that style. Takes 1 hour work tops, and you have a journal powered by vBulletin.

No sorry.

spence2 08-21-2004 02:27 AM

I didn't think so.

nexialys 09-11-2004 01:08 PM

this project is a flop again, or you plan to release it in the next decade ?!

LizerisCHN 09-13-2004 12:39 PM

Actually, the project is quite good, I congratulate Gamingforce's Admin on good coding.

If you don't like the fact that he hasn't released this stuff, please, feel free to learn how to code competently yourself.

It feels more rewarding to create a script than just take someone else's.

Gamingforce. r u azn?

nexialys 09-13-2004 07:35 PM

@LizerisCHN ... did you look at my title... "Coder" .... it means i release some hacks here... so sometimes i answer clients needs... (i released 5 hacks here, but more than 200 for commercial clients already)...

also, i was asking because the thread was not updated for 20 days, so in 20 days, maybe GF was doing some...

stupid comments like yours are useless... please refrein yourself in...

Justin2K 09-16-2004 08:31 PM

LOL

whatever, the guy isnt going to release it and he never was. He just likes teasing you all with it. Its kinda pathetic everyones all begging him and stuff. really all i can say is release it or shut up.

By most standards, that's quite an extensive beta test.

BTW, for those interested in encouraging a journal hack that seems destined to be released, I'm sure AN-net would appreciate your feedback.

AN-net just released his journal hack! Yippee!
