I would install this but I prefer the quick reply box with open/close switch, very handy. I must give you credit on this one it's a great addition and easy to do.

Marzas 09-06-2003 10:07 PM

is there a way to add smilies to this?

This is a simple quick reply hack box based on Razor's "Quick reply modification 1.1" It has been made to work perfectly on version 2.3.x and up and also changed the appearence to look nearly identical as the normal reply function.
Demo - http://sitetutor.net/forums.

Dean C 09-07-2003 09:43 AM

If you want smilies you're best to install the quick reply hack and not the template mod as instructions on adding smilies are detailed in that thread. :)

blakkboy 09-08-2003 01:19 AM

Darkwaltz 09-11-2003 03:18 PM

Thanks so much for this hack.:)

www.acura-legend.com/vbulletin

I just wish that the width of it wasn't so much:(

Any way to change the width?

Thanks!

chrisvonc 10-24-2003 04:48 PM

Thank you very much for this! Works great on 2.3.2. Man that was simple. :)

How can one add the Post Subject (optional) line in this?

Thanks again!

Chris

Hey, its a great mod.. I got an idea

Can you change the length to abit smaller like what firefly quickreply hack did, it would be cool.. and would it be nice if you make a template for the quick reply smilies ;)

Dean C 11-01-2003 09:46 AM

This template mod was made for people who don't want to play with their files. It's not possible to have smilies without hacking so you may want to look at FireFly's version for that (I recently added a tutorial in the thread in the first post on how to add the smilies).

shawnb 11-07-2003 04:36 AM

Very cool quick reply box. Just installed my Vbulletin and had no probs with your hack. Nice.

Matt Whelan 11-09-2003 08:20 PM

I just found out that when you use this quick reply, it does not subscribe you to the thread.

Dean C 11-10-2003 05:28 PM

Nor does the usual quick reply ;)

Zachery 11-10-2003 06:28 PM

nice job misty

Syeren 11-23-2003 04:02 PM

Hmm. I'm using this one, but my Content Table Width is set at 70%. I can't seem to get this one to conform to my restraints.

Dean C 11-23-2003 04:46 PM

Just decrease the cols part of the <textarea> tag until it fits :)

MaDCaT75 11-25-2003 07:45 PM

If anyone wants a fully functional reply box with vb code buttons and smilies, PM me!

X-Sector 12-23-2003 11:48 PM

MadDCaT75, can u post it here :D

Magazine 01-01-2004 05:28 AM

i installed this and its nice except when someone replys using the quick reply you cant see there signatures

EDIT: wrong hack i meant to reply to another one but i just install this one instead and its very nice good job

Dean C 01-01-2004 04:19 PM

If you play around with the html you can have a tickbox there :)

Digital-Inn 01-02-2004 03:56 PM

Hi
can i add smilies in the quick replay box on the left side ?

MindTrix 01-02-2004 04:19 PM

Sure if you are willing to mess about with it :)

I believe there is a quick reply add on over at www.vbulletintemplates.com which allows this, im sure you can just edit it too work with Mist's version.

Digital-Inn 01-02-2004 05:08 PM

can you help me ?

Halo_DDF 01-17-2004 04:09 PM

I cant get it at the bottom, yes i read what pollo posted but im not so good in english and cant really understand what you guys mean how you can put it at the bottom.
Can somone give me a simpeler guide for that?
Thanks

Pollo 01-17-2004 04:17 PM

There's not too much to it. In the template you are adding the quick reply to, there are two of these:

<!-- first unread and next/prev -->

You are adding the quick reply after the *first one* but you need to add it after the *second one* instead.

Halo_DDF 01-17-2004 04:35 PM

Damn im stupid.. hehe, now you are saying that i understand thanks m8!
And i can add a smilie box with changing only the template right?

Pollo 01-17-2004 05:03 PM

Rest assured that making a small error while adding code to a template does not make one stupid, heh.

Re: smilie box...

I think it was discussed previously in the thread. I have since uninstalled this template modification in favor of Firefly's hack.
