Looks like James is in on the bidding. Is that James the co-owner of vbulletin or JamesUS the mod?

Erwin 01-25-2003 02:23 AM

Skuzzy, if I was you, I would end the auction now, and sell it to James, if it's James from the vB Team that is the highest bidder at the moment. :)

I would prefer to see Jelsoft own the domain.

Dean C 01-25-2003 08:54 AM

And me too :)

N9ne 01-25-2003 09:52 AM

OH MY GOD! $405!!!

nuno 01-25-2003 10:17 AM

Yeah, if that's James from Jelsoft, then now's the time to end the auction IMO. :o

Xenon 01-25-2003 10:53 AM

ask him if he is ^^

Tony G 01-25-2003 11:00 AM

Yep, I would prefer it to go to it's rightful owner too..Jelsoft. :p

N9ne 01-25-2003 11:02 AM

The funny thing is James could've just asked skuzzy for the domain before it was on eBay and get it for about $10, but now he's paying $405 :D

Tony G 01-25-2003 11:03 AM

I guess it's easily affordable. :p

nuno 01-25-2003 11:19 AM

SkuZZy is able to check if he's James from Jelsoft or not, just click View page with email addresses link and he should get james@vbulletin.com.

N9ne 01-25-2003 11:49 AM

[high]* N9ne puts in an offer for $1,000,000 :D[/high]

I'll accept that kindly ;)

bgray 01-26-2003 11:52 AM

Hi all,

BGray here. I'm relatively new to vbulletin but I'm coming on fast and I love It.

In response to some posts made here about trademarks, I can't find any for the word vbulletin at USPTO. Maybe I'm missing something though. :nervous:

Most companies wouldn't have any problem with someone else owning another extension of their name if the content doesn't put a bad light on the name, especially since the winner of the .net auction will probably develop a good site for the community. But I'm no expert on these things either.

Anyway, to my point:

I am the owner of vbulletin.us .
I would love to create a site that would be useful to this community as it is one of the best I've ever seen.

I'm wanting to know if any of you out there would be interested in partnering with me to create a site that would bring added value to the vbulletin community.

I will provide the name, license, hosting and anything else I can.
You provide the design and format.

Anyone interested please email me and we can work it out from there.

Thanks!

BGray

Well i don't thin you'll get an offer because we have an official templates, hacks and support site already - i can't see what there is left to do :)

If not, that's OK too. :)
Just want to put it to good use.

Boofo 01-26-2003 01:15 PM

bgray, there is always room for more. Go with it. There may already be official templates, hacks and support sites, but there is more that can be offered. Too many people around here would rather offer a negative opinion instead of a helpful one.

Satan

I will create a .NL domain, with original vB site in dutch ;)

Neo 01-26-2003 11:16 PM

Who bought this?

Cancelled
Explanation:The seller ended the listing early and cancelled all bids.

SkuZZy 01-26-2003 11:40 PM

The domain name was sold privately, out of ebay this evening. It was sold to James, from Jelsoft. I apologize to all the people who were bidding on the auction or had planned to make a bid for the name, but I felt that selling it to the original founder of vbulletin was probably the best and most honest thing to do.

What would they use against Skuzzy? He's been nicr to hand it to him without any blackmail. ;)

Boofo 01-28-2003 04:51 AM

He probably got a better price for it this way than he would have on e-bay. ;)

Tony G 01-28-2003 04:55 AM

Some of those other bidders looked desperate for that domain. ;)

I'd prefer to keep it confidential. But let me put it this way, if anyone needs another owned vbulletin license, please contact me :D

Boofo 01-29-2003 12:59 AM

Sounds to me like someone got paid in vbulletin licenses. How much are they going for?

Tony G 01-29-2003 04:51 AM

Ooo Skuzzy! *Will contact* :p

colicab-d 01-29-2003 10:23 AM
