Hi everyone,
This week brings the first major update of DragonByte Classifieds (v1.1.0 Beta 1) Which includes 9 major changes and features as well as some bug fixes to existing features. Among the key updates included are extra notifications using the vBulletin notification system, options for randomizing the listings appearing in the advert boxes, JavaScript rotation of listings appearing in any of the advert boxes, Listing Views tracking, and two new Pro only features, an optional Auto Post a New Thread/Post on submitting a listing and a Seller's Items box that can be set to appear in a user's post footer in forum threads. The new features are designed to enhance some of the core content and make the listings more visible to user's across the forums. We have appreciated all the feedback and suggestions that have been posted and with more updates planned we hope to include made more of the excellent suggestions that have been made. Please note that this is a Beta release and so there may well be bugs that need addressing. Any feedback on functionality and issues that you can all provide will help us immensely. The full list of changes in v1.1.0 Beta 1 can be found below. Remember, we have installed the latest Beta of Classifieds here on DBTech. We have created some 'fake' items and have left PayPal in Sandbox mode so that no real money changes hands allowing anyone to test how the system works. We look forward to your feedback. Go here for the latest listings: View Listings - DragonByte Tech | vBulletin Mods & Addons. To create a PayPal Sandbox account you need to head over to this page: https://developer.paypal.com/webapps...tions/accounts. Once you login with your regular PayPal account you can then create a sandbox testing account to use to 'purchase' the items on our Classifieds. Matt, I've got people complaining that with this system we wont have history of what was being sold and traded on our forums. They are actually right.. We'd like to have some sort of a history page where they can view all items that were being sold/unsold.
Also, if there's a way users can interact with the seller publicly like posting a question on the item or asking about a discount...etc. Just a small chat box to be under each item visible for all users who are viewing the item. Many thanks! |
Hi Matt, I just installed your product on my two forums and on one I have a problem. In the forum where I use vBcover iBid, there is no button DBTech Classifieds in my admincp after installing. In one of the forums where I do not have vBcover iBid runs ok. Is it possible that your product is not compatibile with vBcover iBid? I want to uninstall iBid, but after some time, because there are still active listings...
Thanks! Regards Sasha |
Set yourself to super administrator on the site where it is not showing up, in your includes/config.php file.
|
Ozzy47, thank you... now working fine :)

Glad to hear. :)

Hi
I installed this, this morning to see if it would suit our forum, But after installing when I click on the classifieds tab it takes me to this: Dave |
Another problem, I gave permisions to view the classifieds to my usergroups in categories but they can't use them:
When they try to view the classifieds this message pops up. you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: 1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? 2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation. |
Please ignore my previous question, I have found the problem. Thanks!
|
This mod look pretty interesting, but I have a quick question:
When you setup fees for different types of listings, are those fees paid to the owner of the site? Are there any other ways for this mod to generate income for the site? |

When you can... Stay pending the 'update with bug fix reported. In the meantime, I had to downgrade to the previous version 1.0.3 because of the thousands of emails sent by mistake by vbulletin :-( |
After try to leave a feedback I get this error:
Database error in vBulletin 4.2.2: Invalid SQL: UPDATE user SET dbtech_classifieds_feedbackleftcount = 0, dbtech_classifieds_feedbackreccount = 0 WHERE userid = 88; MySQL Error : Unknown column 'dbtech_classifieds_feedbackreccount' in 'field list' Error Number : 1054 |

Hi everyone,
This week we have the second beta of DragonByte Classifieds (v1.1.0 Beta 2) which includes a number of bug fixes (including details of patched Beta 1 bugs) and a new feature: The ability to choose what type of notifications are used on your site, i.e. whether to send PMs and Emails or not. The full changelog for v1.1.0 Beta 2 can be found below. Remember, we have installed the latest Beta of Classifieds here on DBTech. We have created some 'fake' items and have left PayPal in Sandbox mode so that no real money changes hands allowing anyone to test how the system works. We look forward to your feedback. Thanks for the update first of all Matt,
Yes they want a thread-looking discussion that is in the same page of the listing. It'll actually help users to check on item history in the future. My forum is a car forum and we do have parts being sold right and left, It'd really help users identifying the price range of every part. Cheers dude! |

The ability to deactivate parts of the form is a Pro only feature. User's can simply leave them blank, or you can edit the options for Conditions/Returns to feature just one option. :)

Regarding the other MySQL error caused when viewing threads via TapaTalk, I've a new version of Beta 2 and I'm hoping this fixes the issue. :) |

Uploaded a fix for that MySQL error Nelson as well as another MySQL error that was happening because of a missing column in the user table.
For the second fix to work, download the package and reupload the files. Before importing the XML, change the version number of the DragonByte Classifieds product in the Admin Control Panel > Plugins & Products > Manage Products > DragonByte Tech: Classifieds (Pro) or (Lite) > Edit to 1.0.3 and save the product. Then reimport the XML which should add the missing column in the user table. We will include this fix in the Beta 3 upgrade files, but this fix is there for users who want to apply these fixes before Beta 3 is ready. Matt |
Matt:
The error came back even though table entries were modified. nelson@hobby-machinist.com nelson@hobby-machinist.com 4:00 PM (0 minutes ago) to nelson Database error in vBulletin 4.2.2: Invalid SQL: SELECT l.*, l.userid AS luserid, li.listingitemid, a.*, f.* FROM dbtech_classifieds_listing AS l LEFT JOIN dbtech_classifieds_listing_item AS li ON l.listingid = li.listingid LEFT JOIN attachment AS a ON l.attachmentid = a.attachmentid LEFT JOIN filedata AS f ON a.filedataid = f.filedataid WHERE l.userid IN () AND l.enddate > 1393448403 AND l.startdate < 1393448403 AND l.ended = 0 AND l.active = 1 AND l.moderated = 0 GROUP BY l.listingid ORDER BY l.listingid LIMIT 0; MySQL Error : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND l.enddate > 1393448403 AND l.startdate < 1393448403 AND l.ended =' at line 11 Error Number : 1064 Request Date : Wednesday, February 26th 2014 @ 04:00:03 PM Error Date : Wednesday, February 26th 2014 @ 04:00:04 PM Script : http://www.hobby-machinist.com/mobiquo/mobiquo.php Referrer : IP Address : 50.175.76.112 Username : nmasi Classname : vB_Database MySQL Version : |
I got rid of it finally. I had to delete the old files. Then download fresh, & install. Then reinstall after changing the version number. That did it.

Thanks for updating us Nelson. :)
