Are there plans to allow users to submit their own channels instead of having admins manually add them?

Does the twitch/youtube video play using Flash or HTML5 player?
Benefits of HTML5 player: Work on iPads, iPhones, and all current Android/mobile devices. Flash does not. |
YouTube uses HTML5 exclusively, whereas you have a setting to control whether you want Twitch to use Flash or HTML5.

Would it be possible to have like a function/custom page that shows the current top livestreams for a certain game?
You would probably need some kind of Twitch API for that and not sure if it exist with that function. Edit: I just checked there seems to be some API for it, if I read it correctly. Also in that API I saw something regarding teams. I believe this allows you to show all channels live for a certain twitch team/group which would also be great to show. |
I'm receiving a 403 forbidden message, could it be the file permissions?
I've tried reinstalling it. |
Should both of these exist.?
twitch.php & livestream.php The pages look the same, just making sure it is correct to have both. |

I realize that this mod is a little older and hasn't seen much activity here, but I've downloaded, installed and began some testing to see if our members like it, before considering any paid version.
I have everything setup on both Twitch and YouTube, as well as configured AdminCP settings for them. They both work locally on Twitch and YouTube sites, indicating they're streaming video correctly, but when I click on either from our site, nothing appears at all for Twitch and YouTube throws shows "An Error Occurred .. Please try Later" when you click play button. Has anyone successfully got either of these services working with this mod, or have YouTube and Twitch changed some API's or something else, that negates its use now? Thanks... :) Regards, Doug |
The reason why they are blank is that the channel does not have a background image for when it's offline (Twitch) and it has never been seen online (YouTube).
Can you please make sure the mod sees each of those channels online at least once, then try again? You can do this by bringing the streams online, then refreshing that page until you see both of them display as online in the mod. Fillip |

Ok, added background image for Twitch... shows up fine off-line... still nothing showing through mod interface....
YouTube is streaming fine locally, but get an error every time I click on Play Button to view the stream. Thanks anyway .. Regards, Doug |
I've tested this @ a live site (finalfantasyforums.net/livestream.php) and it's working perfectly fine there, so I'm not entirely sure what to tell you if I'm honest.
If you PM me with an FTP and AdminCP account I can see if I can figure out why it's not working for you, though. Fillip |

Having looked into this @ your site, this is working as intended. Until you go live at least once and the mod picks up on it, it's not possible to view the Twitch or YouTube players. Sorry about that.

It's good to know that the mod is installed correctly... I have gone live several times from both Twitch and YouTube to test, but it appears the mod never sees the connection. Thanks again and we'll see what other options we can find... Regards, Doug ps: attached a pic of YouTube live stream in real time, demonstrating that it's active. All settings are correct for vBulletin add-on including channel identifier. Also attached is pic of what mod shows on vBulletin client when clicked on, with stream saying "Stream Status: Seen live 0 time(s) Never Seen Online" So, perhaps YouTube has changed something in its protocol for delivery for live streams, which is why the vBulletin add-on is not seeing the stream? |
Ok, I think I've figured this out... maybe... :D
It appears that at some point YouTube has changed the way you access a live stream channel... The method this mod uses ends up pointing to a person's personal YouTube page and not the person's live channel video stream they're trying to feed to this vBulletin mod. Therefore, the mod never sees the live streamed video at all... ;) So, as a reality check, I'd like to hear from anyone currently using this mod successfully and if so, how did you instruct the mod to point to a live channel video stream .. Thanks.. :) Regards, Doug |
pretty sure I installed everything in the right locations, but going into the site, link isn't in nav bar, even though it is active. not sure what I did wrong, already changed settings in the options for it.
